I built a Paper money trader for Elon tweet-count markets on Polymarket

Three strategies: Smart Money (following top Polymarket wallets), Arb (NegBin forecast vs market price), and Safe Trades (NO positions where model + smart money agree).

12 resolved trades so far. Arb is up +171% ROI; the other two are underwater. 60% win rate combined. Every trade is calculated and logged automatically.

Everything's logged publicly btw - elontweets.xyz/trades

Curious if anyone else is playing these markets.

Teaching 'AI Automation' stuff online is everywhere...

It seems like there are more educators than the users. Consider graphic design - Like people that use Photoshop is way more than people that teach photoshop on YT or even paid courses.

In this AI Automation niche, every reel where they share some Automation or editing technique is a funnel to their course or community. Comment 'AI' and I'll send this github repo. Like this is everywhere on socials 😭.

And everybody is claiming to make millions with their agencies and then started teaching.. or some kind of backstory like that.

It used to be social media marketing and dropshipping before. Now, its just a different gold rush.

Sell the fear (of becoming irrelevant in the AI world), show them success (my client paid 10k for this single automation), and funnel them to the course (or skool community and charge them $129 per month).

Wow!

yt-dlp on VPS blocked by YouTube — how are you handling YouTube downloads in your n8n workflows?

Building an n8n workflow that clips YouTube videos and sends to Telegram. Downloads with yt-dlp, captions with Whisper, copy with GPT. Works great locally but my Hostinger VPS IP is flagged as datacenter so YouTube blocks everything.

Already tried cookies, android client args, Tor, Invidious, cobalt.tools (needs JWT now). All dead ends.

How are you guys actually downloading YouTube content from a VPS? Is a residential proxy worth it or is there a cleaner solution im missing?

Thanks in advance 🙏

Building a personal AI robot companion with Pi 5 — hardware finalized, looking for advice before I pull the trigger

Body:

Hey everyone, I've been deep in research mode and I'm about to start building a personal AI robot companion from scratch. Brain first, body later. Looking for any advice, warnings, or things I might have missed.

The idea

A modular AI companion robot that can:

  • Wake word detection
  • Voice conversations powered by Claude API
  • Face detection and person tracking
  • Animated facial expressions on a screen
  • Long-term memory (conversations, preferences, tasks)
  • Eventually move on a robot body (Phase 2+) - that can move (wheels maybe, intead of legs)
  • Home assistant integrations later

Hardware: (Total Cost - $375 USD)

  • Raspberry Pi 5 8GB — Rp5,085,000 (~$312 USD — Indonesia pricing is brutal)
  • SanDisk Extreme 128GB A2 microSD
  • 3.5" SPI Touch Screen + Metal Case + Cooler
  • 5MP OV5647 130° Night Vision CSI Camera
  • USB Microphone
  • Small USB Speaker
  • 27W USB-C PD Power Supply
  • No battery yet (maybe later when it's moving - V2)

Software stack

Python 3, OpenCV, Claude API, Whisper STT, Piper TTS, SQLite, openWakeWord

Anything missing or anything you'd change?? I am very new to this, have been building n8n AI agents using Claude, and now I wanna dive into the phsycial world, so this will be my first project.

Thanks in advance! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Trading Analysis bot - Polymarket

So basically i built a bot that gives me analysis (an edge) on a certain market on Polymarket. Have been paper trading, and despite losing in some markets, the overall PnL is pretty good.

Now, I know its not fully legal, and the taxes will make it not worth it for me to put money. So what I am planning to do is charge a monthly subscription fee ans sell it as a product to other traders.

A user will basically get full data analysis based on the current market situation and its output is backed by data and formulae.

Is this a smart pivot? If so, how do I market this?? Because I have been building this for myself, and only to know that taxes will never keep me profitable, with this regular trading approach, i am kind of stuck.. in the sense of promoting it or reaching the right audience.

Any advice or suggestions on this would be appreciated.

PS: Product is 80% done.

Scraping Tweets - Cheapest Method?

Is there a free or less cost effective way to scrape tweets other than using an Apify actor?? Right now my workflow in n8n involves scraping tweets and adding them to the sheet. My main goal here is to know thw tweet count, i don't care what the tweet copy is, libks, media, etc. So just checking if there is a cheap way?

Any polymarket traders paid tax? How?

I am just wondering how polymarket gains are taxed, as there is not much advice or discussions online, but also each discussion is pointing in a different direction. Any clarity on this would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Has any digital nomad tried Jogja?

I've only stayed for a few days here last year and I am planning to move there soon. Would like to hear some experiences from other digital noamds. Spent a few months in Bali last year and i would not go back, so considering Jogja. I like Java in general very much (only based on travelling though, not living, as i haven’t done that yet!).

Would a rental alert Telegram bot solve your accommodation-finding problem as a digital nomad

Hey! Digital nomad here, mostly in South East Asia. I spend a lot of time scrolling Facebook rental groups every morning for a week or two before moving somewhere new, trying to find a decent place within my budget. It works, but it's kind of exhausting.

So I started building a Telegram bot that monitors these groups and pings me when a listing matches my criteria - budget, area, property type, bedrooms, furnished or not. Again, these are facebook groups (not marketplace, where you can get alert from FB directly). Currently working for Bali. I built it for myself, but wondering if others would find it useful too.

A few honest questions:

  1. Would you actually use something like this?

  2. Would you pay for it? If yes, what feels fair - $5/mo? $10/mo?

  3. Would multiple alert profiles be useful - like one alert for cheap studios under $500 and another for villas under $1500?

  4. Anything else you wish existed when apartment hunting as a nomad?

Not selling anything. Just trying to figure out what's worth building before I build it. Honest answers appreciated, including "no I wouldn't use this."

Thanks in advance!

Planning to stay in Jogja for 4 months

Hi all, I've decided to stay in Jogja for 4 months, starting from next month. My goal is to focus on my online work stuff, meet people, go to the gym, cafes, and practice my Bahasa Indonesia, etc. Looking for a more social life, basically. And I will be exploring other places like Wonosobo, Magelang, etc., during the weekends on a motorbike. I will also try to use Couchsurfing, Workaway, and dating apps (maybe, lol, not sure), so I can meet people and plan some activities together.

  1. Which area in Jogja would you recommend?

  2. As for finding accommodation, fb groups aren't helpful, I feel. Travelio is good as of now, but any other options as to where to look for? (Studio, under 3.5 - 4M IDR would be nice).

  3. I wanna do a lot of hikes and rice fields this time. Merapi, Temanggung, Wonosobo, Magelang, etc. Any suggestions?

Terima kasih!

Anyone tried Kyrgyzstan?

I was wondering if there are any digital nomads lived or living in Kyrgyzstan, and would like to know from their experience how things are there. They also have a DN visa (pls share if you have any experience with that).

I spent good time in South East Asia, but I am looking for a completely different lifestyle than from cities like Bali (i dont like it), Chiang Mai (love it) and Da Nang (love it). And mostly to focus on my work, and live a low key life. And practice Russian (thinking about it).

Pls share your experiences if you had been there, or even heard about it.

Thanks in advance. 🙏

Any Digital Nomads here?

Thanks in advance 🙏

I've been using max plan for the past couple of months, and claude code has been doing incredible work in building the workflows.

Someone recommneded me to try Google AI Studio (good free limits), to find a way to reduce the cost. So I am wondering if anyone has used an alternative way, to build n8n workflows that is cheap and effective (vs a $100 max plan).
