i’m sitting at a score of 1000 and hoping to increase to 1500 ish range for the NMSF psat exam this october. has anyone found the free version of any help

If anyone here got into neuroscience and is comfortable sharing their general stats and ecs, please do so! Or even just giving advise or sharing ur experience would be great. I’ve barely seen anyone in general talk about their acceptance into neuroscience, and i’ve heard it competitive.

I just want to get a general idea of what an accepted applicant looks like. By no means will i be comparing my stats to urs or copying what someone did so that I can get accepted! I just want to see if anyone got in with achievable or similar stats to me, since the people i’ve seen get in r usually insanely cracked.

for context:
i’m a rising junior, 3.91 uw and 4.945 w, in state, top 10 percent (and might be top 5 percent, depends)

Which school is better? I heard anderson is more competitive and academically inclined. I’m mainly interested in the healthcare pathway (heard anderson had a shadowing program). But rank is also somewhat relevant.

Edit: My daughter is going to be a junior this fall. She wants to become a neurologist or ped nurse, but I think she's leaning more towards neurologist. I believe at her current school she is top 10 top 5%, but she's worried that her GPA will tank once its recalculated, since we heard that AISD calculated GPA weirdly. (currently has a 3.91 uw and 4.945 w) At her current school she didnt get to do the healthcare pathway since she transferred schools her sophmore year, so she's really hoping to be able to do a healthcare pathway when she moves (which is why anderson interests us).

We're looking for houses to rent currently and have found a couple, some zoned in Anderson and some in Austin hs. About the same proximity to my place of work so I don't mind. She's trying to decide so your input would really help.

- Austin High school
- Anderson High school
- Westwood high school
these are my only options based on the research i’ve done pls don’t suggest other ones

The things i’m looking for most is the healthcare pathway. I know anderson has a health science capstone where you shadow your senior and junior year (which is what i want), but i don’t know if they allow transfers since the deadline was around feb-april.

Rank is prett very important to me since (need to be top 10 preferably top 5 percent) UT is one of my top choices. [Im aware that auto admit is only into the school and not major] That’s why i’m kind of hesitant about going to westwood since (i heard) it’s pretty competitive.

I don’t play sports so that doesn’t matter, but i’m looking for many extracurriculars and opportunities. It would also be great if any of these schools offered internships. (mine did for seniors)

I’m also probably going to continue taking ap classes: ap bio, ap chem, apush, ap gov / euro, ap pre calc, ap calc bc, apes
if offered ap computer science, and seminar + research.

If you applied for this program last year and got in, what did you put for the question that asks about prior research experience (yes/no)? I’m applying and not sure if they expect you to have prior research experience or not?

Also, how do I answer the “why are you interested in the research area above” question, i just selected the ones that are most fit for me. I usually struggle with these questions because i don’t know what to write
this is what i chose (from order or ranking)

1. cognitive science
2. biomedical health sciences
3. data science (only one i have experience with because i attended kode with klossy (kwk) data science track this summer)

Are they releasing results on a rolling basis? I still haven’t received an email. Do they send out rejection emails?

Also, when you filled out the google form application did you get a confirmation email or a copy of your responses sent to your email? (i didn’t and starting to worry that my application wasn’t received)

I’m planning on starting a crochet business, and I want to know what platform would be the cheapest to sell my products through. I’ve seen people sell on etsy, but I heard they take a huge amount of your profit, which in turn leads you to raise prices = less customers. I’ve also seen depop, but I feel like it’s more catered towards clothing? I’m not really sure. I’d love to know if there’s a platform where you don’t have to pay for shipping and they take a small amount of your profit. Also, if anyone has their own website, how do you make it so that people can pay through it? If I make a website i’ll likely use canva because I’m just starting out!

Besides platforms to sell on, if you have any advice for me no matter what type of small business you own, please tell me!

p.s: i don’t want to sell on insta and have customers pay through venmo because that seems sketchy and may come off as a scam. I personally wouldn’t buy from someone who sells through their dms either. Also, figuring out the shipping may be a lot for someone who is just starting out

i’m a hs junior (this fall) and i need especially an ipad for note taking, because ill take note taking heavy classes and its mor convent for solving practice problems or prep books instead of printing them out or buying one.
Should i get the ipad air m4, and get a keyboard, or the neo and ipad a16? the only thing that would bother me about the a16 would be the non laminated screen, writing would kind of feel like floating ? i’ve never had an ipad to taken notes on an ipad before so..

the neo would be 256 gb, no touch id

the a16 would be 128 gb

would this last into college hopefully atleast my first 2 years? (so atleast 4 years) i’m gonna be premed btw so very note heavy

or should i just buy the macbook neo and refinished ipad air m3 or m2? i think a macbook would be convent because i might move schools and they wont provide me with a laptop.

I know i’m late, but i was wondering if there are still any programs (preferably online or near dallas, tx) that are still open for applications related to anything healthcare (neuroscience [especially], biology, chemistry) or even coding ! i’m currently doing the kwk data science in person summer camp and im actually enjoying it so much! I applied for hospital volunteering but got rejected because I had “missing info,” so there were my plans for summer. Now that I don’t have volunteering I thought I’d do a research program, even if it’s brief expose because I want to start now so that next year when i apply (on time) i actually have some experience!

i just finished my sophomore year, and i want to dedicate this summer to study for the SAT since ill likely be doing the IB program next year and won’t be free next summer as ill be working on my EE essay.
Anyways, whenever I read reddit posts online or watch any videos on how to study for the sat, people always say take a practice test spam practice questions etc, but how am I supposed to take practice tests if I know nothing? Obviously, i don’t literally know nothing (sitting at a 990), but i’ve never really learned or beeen taught the SAT “curriculum,” my score was mainly guessing or using prior knowledge. HOWEVER, what I’m looking for is somewhere or something / resources in general where I can learn ALL THE MATERIAL FROM 0, like NOTHING (such as youtube channels, prep books, pdfs, notes, etc) I don’t want practice sites or khan academy , i want to fully learn the content before i start practicing or taking practice tests. I know some of you guys might not agree with this study method and deem it as a waste of time as i should just build up from what i know, but i believe this is the best way for me to score 1500+ (MY GOAL IS A 1550+)

TLDR: I want resources where i can learn all the content for the SAT from scratch with no prior knowledge, NOT practice resources. I’m aiming for a 1550+, my PSAT score is 1100 (back in october) preferably, for free
