Super anxious about what’s next for me

I turned 18 a little over 2 months ago

It feels weird
I know by technically I’m doing everything “right” for someone my age s

Well I’m going to community college on a full ride scholarship and that scholarship also transfers to anywhere instate aswell 🎉 huzzah (pain in my butt to get becuase of issues with residency and almost having to take a gap semester becuase of costs :( trying to get into a 4 year year was even worse but hey I kinda did that)

My family also just moved to this state maybe ~4 months ago
I also just recently got hired for my first part time job 🎉

I seriously don’t see myself getting pass this point…. Like I don’t exactly have a major completely planned out yet (well okay I wouldn’t say that I have like 3 ideas for majors) it’s just … weird I’m still trying to figure out a major that I feel like pays decent AND is something I am genuinely excited about (I love being creative it’s kinda where I thrive, but I also studying and learning about animals and different species, I also am decent at English and speaking and also history??). I’m currently doing prelaw studies? (As an associates I could transfer it to a history or English degree or a poli sci degree) But I’ve been debating switching to biology or maybe art? (But none of those fields pay enough on a bachelors I just don’t know:( ) I alos been looking into zoology? But comm college doesn’t offer it but the school im planning on transferring to does and it would transfer just fine if I get a associates in bio

I am honestly pretty studious and have been doing great so far in my college courses the thing isn’t that I don’t like any major options or that I don’t think I can’t handle them THERES TOO MANY I LIKE 😭 (I don’t exactly want to do any trades.. especially since my college education is free and I honestly enjoy learning in a weird way well when I was offered by my parents to let me take a gap semester due to my original issues with residency and tuition my butt said absolutely not, that’s kinda how I got my scholarship I would have gotten it anyway aswell if I had taken a gap semester)

I also don’t have a license and I’m lowkey scared to start driving like I seriously don’t see myself doing it 😭 (I am going to enroll in a driving class soon and I’m using the savings I get from my job to save for a used car)

This is literally so scary to me because wydm if I don’t decide on a career path, start getting internships within the next 2 years, somehow traverse getting my transfer application ready, actually GRADUATE and then I somehow have to figure out how to get a decent paying full time job and move out and be completely independent within the next 4-5 years or else I am completely screwed by societal norms I’m freaking out I’m not going fast enough or that I just wouldn’t be able to handle whatsoever I don’t feel mature enough to do it and I feel super guilty about it… like what if I seriously can’t handle the adult world and my life is practically ruined after I graduate from community college and I just become a NEET

Like I just can’t imagine myself actually doing those things and getting to that point? Idk if that makes any sense every time I think about I kind of panic my future makes me panic like I feel like I genuinely just can’t handle it and that I’ll become the laughing stock of the family

Where do people live when attending a out of state vet school?

Hi!
I’m a freshmen at a community college who is very interested in going into vet med and pursuing a DVM

My state doesn’t have any dvm program which means I would have to go out of state to go to a dvm program

How did you out of state students do it 🧍like seriously where did you guys live? Do vet schools have like special student housing or do I have to try to get a apartment? Is there like dorms for vet students did you guys have roommates? I most likely wouldn’t be able to live with anyone that I know off IDK anything 🥲

Please let me know what your experience is if you have attended a vet school out of state! I’m so curious (might also use this information when I decide which dvm program to go for)

Got an interview for my first job!!

I’m 18 never had an actual job apart from me selling baked goodies here and there …. I’ve been in a bit of a rut because I moved states second semester senior year and it screwed up my college situation (I’m attending community college becuase of all the issues from moving around but I did land myself a full ride scholarship though!!! but I only go twice a week and apart from that I’m chudding around I also had to live with a family friend during my last semester of senior year to not screw up my highschool graduation)

AND TODAY I GOT A INTERVIEW INVITE!!! AAa I’m so excited I really hope it goes well ❤️

Applying to vet schools as someone who doesn’t live in a. State with a DVM

Hi!
Im currently a freshmen taking classes at a community college

I know it’s silly to already start thinking about vet school especially since my current Major is Prelaw 💀(I’m currently looking into switching it to bio next semester) but I’m highly considering it
My state (New Mexico) has no DVM programs instate and it’s very much stressing me out a bit because I feel like it’ll be harder to go to vet schools

How do people handle going to vetschools out of state? I realize I might have to go into much much more debt because I’ll have to apply as out of state ig thankfully my bachelors degree will be completely covered with a scholarship I ended up getting

But seriously how do yalls navigate this ? The reason I’m stressing abt this is because I already had to stress about this to even go to college (I moved states midway through senior year 0/10 would not recommend screwed my residency (I wasn’t considered a resident for tuition purpose ANYWHERE so basically I was screwed over and I almost had to take a gap semester until community college came in clutch with my scholarship btw this happened all within 4 months of me moving here)

I’m just a bit freaked out I would have to deal with the crap I had to deal with even go to college in the first place

How to go about getting clinical and shadowing hours?

Hello! I am a freshmen college student (at a comm college ) and I am very interested in learning about Veterinary medicine

I know you HAVE to get shadowing/clincal experience in order to apply I also thought it would be a good idea to see even if I like Vet Med before I completely commit to it

Before I do this though I have some other stuff I would need to do (like learning to drive/getting a job etc) I just moved states 3.5 months ago so everything is a bit of a mess atm with my life

I was wondering how people get to shadow vets and stuff (do you just walk in and ask email?) so that when I’m hopefully ready too I would have a better idea on what to do!

Lowkey scared for the next era of life

I just turned 18 a little around a month and a half ago

Let’s just say this era has been interesting so far
I moved between states, unenrolled from the college I was going to attend (you’ll see the reason in a bit), enrolled in a community college, got offered a full ride scholarship from my community college that transfers over to any college in my state (including the college I unenrolled from), started attending my community college and all of this occurred within the past 3 months🧍

I currently have no job (never had one I’ve applied for a oncampus job though and another part time job ) and no license (yet I’m going to start a driving school soon most likely at the end of month /start of October moving halfway through senior year kinda definitely screwed up my license) I only go to school around twice a week since I’m at a tuesdays/Thursday schedule I don’t go out much since I don’t have any friends or anything here so if I’m not at school I’m at home (I still do talk to my friends I have back home )

I’m legitimately so scared for the adult era of my life because honestly I don’t feel ready whatsoever 😭 I feel a bit behind on being a adult ig

Freshmen at Cnm lowkey scared

Hi! I’m a upcoming freshmen at Cnm and I’m lowkey scared 😀 I just moved to NM like 3 months ago so I honestly haven’t been doing all that much, I also joined CNM late (registered in July) mainly because I originally planned on going to UNM but had to unenroll because of residency issues and tuition I currently have 3 classes in person and one online. I am excited to start and hopefully start building a life here in NM but I’m seriously nervous haha

New Prelaw major in comm college advice?

Hiii!
I’m currently going to community college as a prelaw major

I chose prelaw because I like reading and writing and has always done really well in English!
I also took ~ 2 law classes in hs (subsative law and criminal law) and enjoyed them! (I would have joined mock trial club but there wasn’t enough participants 🥀)
I did also took speech and debate and did decent?

🫠any advice for the lowly prelaw major? Lowkey scared of what practicing actual law would be like

Successful transfer rates stressing me out 🥲

Hi
I’m a first time community college student (I was kinda forced into community college because I moved states senior year and had horrible issues with residency at the 4 year I was going to go to)

I heard that only around 29-30% of community college student gets their bachelor’s degree and that over 80% of community college students plan on transferring to a 4 year

I’m scared of being in the 70% of people who don’t transfer😭
My community college has a program where all credits transfer to any college in my current state but the transfer rates at my comm college is around 29%

I’m lowkey scared of failing

I can’t even drive either so I’m already mega mega behind because of this weird move

Am I behind?

Hi!
I am 18 and feel behind on life
I graduated Hs in may and then immediately moved to a new state like 3 days later
I was originally going to do college in my current state but unfortunately couldn’t because of residency and not being able to appeal
I am currently enrolled in 12 credit hours/4classes at my local cc (3 in person classes and one online) I would only need to go in person 2 times a week
I never had a actual job before nor do I have a drivers license (I used to have a drivers permit though)

I have no clue if I’m considered behind or a loser I don’t know I am planning on getting my license and eventually getting a part time job

Is 12 credits as a freshman student at cc normal?

I enrolled in 12 credit hours (4 classes) at my local Cc I’m confused if this is normal? Especially since I saw that most students take 15+ credit hours? My advisor did not recommend me taking more than 12 credit hours and I would apparently need permission to enroll in more? Idk I’m just wondering ig

🧍‍♂️college just wants me to take a gap year ATP

Hi ! To preface this I moved states after I graduated HS I originally applied to a college in my current state that I could commute too unfortunately I learned that I needed to apply as a out of state student (which was fine ig and I applied anyway) I ended up getting a scholarship that made it so I had instate tuition (yay?) I then planned on looking for more scholarships and then go into orientation, there was a scholarship in which I could get a full paid off tuition (huzzah) but I could not apply for it until I became resident (ok???) I went to orientation and asked abt it apparently I couldn’t appeal my residency until either second semester or I was a sophomore and if I wanted to change it I would have to get rid of my scholarship for an entire academic year (which meant I had to pay out of state) I then decided to unenroll and look into community instead only to find community WOULD BE ALMOST AS MUCH as the college I was planning to go to 🥀 I then went to appeal my residency for community and let’s just say it was a 2-3 week long fight but I ended up winning (and I might even be awarded the big free tuition scholarship but I still need to ask about it) but seriously why has college been such a fight for me 🧍‍♂️I graduated with like a 3.5-3.6 gpa (almost honors)
