Rocco‘s Birthday
I didn‘t expect him to be so emotional. He actually seemed to enjoy our company 😊

I've been contacted by a user via DM on Reddit about my account potentially getting banned.
As shown in the screenshots, here's what happened:
Sounds very phishy to me - why would Reddit ask a user to provide instructions to another user whose account is allegedly prone to get banned??
I hadn't expected this to happen so quickly. In fact, I hadn't even planned for it - yet! I've just been planting trees for a while to figure out dead spots and to have only cedar trees in the upper town area.
When I went to the town hall and asked Pelly about the environment, her response was a bit different than all the days/weeks before.
Usually, she would mention the lack of trees, but this time it seemed that the environment rating had already improved.
Later the night, I talked to Phyllis, too. She seemed to confirm what I had heard from Pelly earlier the day.
To my surprise, it even seemed as if I had skipped the "good" rating and went straight to the "perfect" rating.
Woohoo! I'm now on my way to the Golden water can! I hope I won't miss a wilting flower during the next 16 days. As a safety measure, I've planted a few more flowers just in case.
BTW: Some pics show how I've marked acres and quater acres to better keep track of the number of trees in them.
I just wanted to point out that Nintendo Japan has web pages of some of their DS games from back then still running.
And if you know the Game ID of the respective DS game, you might be able to find even more web pages, as it follows the same pattern.
I found this out after I recently posted a link to Animal Crossing Wild World here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ACWW/comments/1vk1dd5/japanese_website_still_alive/
| Animal Crossing Wild World | ADMJ | https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/admj/index.html |
|---|---|---|
| New Super Mario Bros | A2DJ | https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/a2dj/index.html |
| Tetris DS | ATRJ | https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/atrj/index.html |
| Super Mario 64 DS | ASMJ | https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/asmj/index.html |
| Mario Kart DS | AMCJ | https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/amcj/index.html |
| Star Fox Command | ASFJ | https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/asfj/index.html |
| Zelda: Phantom Hourglass | AZEJ | https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/azej/index.html |
EDIT: on some mobile devices, you'll have to swipe the above table to the left to see the links.
I just wanted to point out that Nintendo Japan is still hosting their original ACWW website from 2005 under https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/admj/index.html
While it contains only japanse text, google translate was quite helpful in translating most of it: https://www-nintendo-co-jp.translate.goog/ds/admj/index.html?_x_tr_sl=ja&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=de&_x_tr_pto=wapp
Unfortunately, the page behind the 1st link contains japanese text only in the form of images, making it impossible for google to translate.
There's also the link to Wi-Fi missing - the Nintendo WFC was disabled on May 20th, 2014, hence they disabled the link as well. The internet archive however still has it: https://web.archive.org/web/20061207212433/http://www.nintendo.co.jp:80/ds/admj/tsushin/wifitsushin/index.html
I found this website very cute and is IMHO very reminiscent of how many little details they used to put into web pages back then.
I hadn‘t realized realized this until just recently recently. Maybe he‘ll eventually eventually sell me a copy machine machine…
After having bought a painting from Redd, wasn't there a way to definitetely get the real painting somehow?
I've heard it would work like this (or in a similar fashion):
>!1. Buy the painting from Redd!<
>!2. Go straight to Tom Nook!<
>!3. Order that painting from the catalog!<
>!4. This will definitely send you the real painting by mail!<
>!Problem is: that painting didn't show up in the catalog. I eventually had it evaluated and it turned !<>!out to be fake. But it still didn't show up in the catalog.!<
Is this just a myth?
Cha-ching, you miser 🤣
I think l‘ll donate something to Boondox 😇
For some of them, I looked at real-world constellations for inspiration.
In order:
Guardian, Batty, Anty, Draco-Pillar, Twins.
Jitters‘ and Dotty‘s pics were the last 2 missing ones of my current villagers. I tried to be very nice them. Seems it eventually paid off 😊
Dotty recently moved in after I had been locally wifi‘ing with my 2nd pre-owned cartridge on my other DS.
Judging by what Dotty says, a user named "Emma Lou“ must have had Dotty in her town "georgia“.
Georgia is in fact the town of my pre-owned cartridge. However, the only user in that town is "kirstin“.
Does that mean that those two users might have been wifi‘ing with each other back then?
And more importantly: Dotty says it‘s been 6776 days since she last saw Emma. That‘s more than 18 (!) years ago!
I‘m still trying to connect all the dots, but to me it seems this might be a bit of one‘s personal gaming history 😊
He won‘t accept further orders at the moment. Is that because my mail queue is full already?
I think she ran out of responses at one point.
The whole scene eventually even drew Victoria‘s attention😁
I totally love how they outright speak about what they‘re thinking 🤣
More advertising material for ACWW. It came in the box of certain DS games back then and is likely EUR-exclusive as it comes in 4 different languages (English, German, French, Dutch). I'm not sure if there was similar material in the US as well.
I can't quite tell which game boxes it originally came with, but it's unlikely that it came with ACWW itself. I suppose it might have been part of games like Nintendogs, etc. that were heavily advertised by Nintendo.
Unlike the "typical" booklets that advertised several hot games at the time, this is a standalone one consisting of 12 pages and contains only ACWW material.
Since I couldn't find it on the web, I decided to scan it myself and make it available for everyone to enjoy.
Compared to NL, fossils sometimes hide really well in WW. Not that I mind - it‘s actually quite refreshing to spend some time scouring for them. 🧐 💡
