Kidney stone issues: St James vs CHA in Anaconda?

Anyone personally dealt with [recurrent] stones and found better treatment at a particular facility?

I don't really feel the walk-in clinic is good fit since a CT or ultrasound sound necessary to visualize. I am not hoping for surgery or stent/catheter. Just hoping to not be completely traumatized by western medicine to the point. Maybe some Flomax and thorough screening for infection. I have a 5-yr-old total joint replacement issues and some issues with my left renal vein compression—a couple things that elevate my risk.

So far, I have the tools to manage the pain decently at home, but not motivated to eat or drink anything today. Most say they feel better after the stone drops—I got the chills and a low grade fever, low-end BP and not amazing O2/HR stats. Not looking for medical advice necessarily, but for your lived experience seeking treatment for kidney stones.

Stone voided but chills, malaise, etc. NSFW [stone pic]

I did read the "start here" but fallacy of my issues at the moment is major cognitive impacts, vision changes, etc so I apologize if this is an infraction. Wondering what type of stone this looks to be, and best next move.

Voided these lovely particles last night. Was quite surprised the little rock was not squishy when poking with a skewer. So, fished it out. I have been voiding particles like a piñata for 1.5 years and a couple stones sent for analysis. No one has cared much. After I voided this last night, I got the chills, slightly increased temp [99.3] which fell quickly to 97°. Felt pretty cruddy all night. Reached out to my PCP since we don't have urology anymore/both locums left [not that they were useful]. PCP nurse basically said if you think you have an infection go to walk-in.

Not sure if I should wait and see if my doctor wants to order a study or just take it with me to walk-in. I don't need pain relief at this time because my other physical issues already have me addressing that. One thing I wonder about is my left renal vein compression [Nutcracker syndrome] but sounds like it's unrelated. I am also having trouble with my hip replacement and elevated titanium serum.

I'm having trouble deciding what type of stone this resembles, and if it could indicate one of the stones that suggests genetic issues. But mostly, this has been mishandled for so long I'm getting traumatized. The only urologist we have in the area now did my bladder scope almost a year ago, and accused me of weird sexual kinks where I shove things up my urethra. It was so offensive—joys of rural medicine and male medical bias.

I didn't get the last ultrasound they ordered because I have major rib subluxations and it doesn't seem to matter anyway. I am running out of tenacity to advocate for myself and not even sure how to. I live alone with my dog, so I am worried if I have an infection I won't know because I hardly seem to spike a true fever unless I'm acutely ill—and previous times this happened it did hit 100+ briefly, but not sustained. I also have eds and avascular necrosis, so chance there are autoimmune issues masking the temp metric. Too complicated for my podunk docs apparently

I hope Alme can find out where his teacher parents are really from

Being subjected to awful Youtube ads and have seen two Alme ads. Is he from teacher folks in Miles City—or is it Great Falls? I hate when I get those places mixed up! /s

And then using imagery of what appears to be the Rims in Billings. What a maverick! Ha! I hate this timeline the most.

Neighbors put sheets of metal roofing on the shared privacy fence and my ears are bleeding

I am in tears. My neighbors told me they were going to do this and I asked about the acoustics—zero effs given. Their dogs have busted thru the wooden privacy fence panels more than once now. I am guessing the boards wouldn't be so fragile if they understood staining _both sides_ of the wood is necessary. And not letting your dogs Kool-Aid-man against them all effing day.

So their music is EXTRA loud now, and I imagine the dogs barking [which isn't going to stop] will be even worse. I don't have the funds to plant friggin anything. I have had 2 brain surgeries so even *my* dog barking hurts my ears super bad. Which is why I trained her to not engage in the neighborhood canine choral.

They blame their dog being a "puppy" except he's the same age as mine [6] I have trained my dog to not engage. I absolutely hate my house and my nervous system is fried at this point.

It looks tacky af, but it's also connected to the flat side of the fence [we are in some pseudo HOA technically a "townhouse" land parcel sorta shit]. I am just so friggin exasperated and overwhelmed. I am also worried it's going to ruin the fence. It's literally sheets of roofing on top of 6ft cedar wood fence.

How the eff to do mitigate this hellscape? Their dogs barking already comes thru the vents. I know I need to fix the outlets for gaps and that will help—but if the dogs are toward the front of the houses, it sounds like a megaphone directly into my kitchen thru the exhaust vent. Speaking of—they also use the most pungent laundry fragrances I have ever encountered. Basically getting sent into my house for assault on my senses regularly.

I literally want to sell my house at this point—which is absurd bc I have a good rate and monthly payment. But at what cost? I feel like I'm in hell.

Where are you going for oil changes now?

There are a ton of oil change shops popping up. I planning on trying American Car Care after calling around a few places. Gotten some decent offers in the mail but I've been tricked by those 50% offers at some chains and it's not a great deal after all. Lisacs charged me for a tire rotation last time and ACC doesn't… so leaning that direction. Tired searching the sub first with no avail.

Is this gap on my new dishwasher supposed to be there?

Is this a vent or a gap that shouldn't be there? Just had this installed a few weeks ago and noticed this.

Used Rock Tape for "mouth taping" and caused irritation, what can I use to soothe and heal it?

TL;DR what can I put on my top lip/skin area to soothe and heal damage/reaction from adhesive? Allergic to lanolin and like every Neutrogena product lol.

I have sensitive skin, especially to adhesives. I have dabbled with "mouth taping" in the past to promote nasal breathing during sleep. I bought some that are specifically made to fit the mouth and it was just kinesiology tape [but that can vary!]. I wasn't getting the medical tape to stick, so I cut a piece of Rock Tape, which doesn't really cause my skin problems. Well, this did. My top lip and the skin above it is so dry, little red bumps, etc. Basically, what a person would expect if you put super strong adhesive over your mouth. Not my finest moment.

So far, I have tried vaseline, burts bees with vitamin e, castor oil. Did I just strip a dermal layer away? What else can I put on my top lip?!

Burka to be banned in Danish schools

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2026/07/16/burka-faces-ban-in-danish-schools/'

Denmark has announced plans to ban burkas in schools and universities as part of its battle against so-called “parallel societies”.

The religious garment is already banned in public spaces, but the move would extend the order to classrooms across the country.

Mette Frederiksen, the Danish prime minister who formed a new Left-leaning government in June, hopes the measure will counter “parallel societies” of non-integrated foreigners.

In Denmark, “parallel societies” refer to urban residential areas where more than 50 per cent of residents are from a non-Western immigrant background.

A ban on full-face coverings, such as the burka and the niqab, was introduced in Denmark in 2018, with those who repeatedly break the rules facing a 10,000 kroner (£1,300) fine.

Berlingske’s report noted that “there are very few students...who wear the burka to school”, as it suggested the policy was more about political signalling from the Danish Left.

Denmark has some of the toughest laws on migration and asylum seekers in Europe, and the issue has been considered a top priority by centre-Left politicians as well as those on the Right.

At the peak of the 2015 refugee crisis, Denmark accepted far fewer asylum seekers than its neighbours and provided them with no financial support if their claim was rejected.

Under the so-called “ghetto” law, migrants can be forcibly relocated from neighbourhoods if the proportion of foreigners there is deemed too high.

Asylum seekers may also be required to give up their valuables to cover their housing costs, in what is known as the “jewellery” rule.

Last month, the government also announced plans to ban the call to prayer in Denmark, as ministers complained that parts of the country felt like “a suburb of Islamabad”.

That policy was also viewed largely as political signalling, with a de facto ban on the call to prayer already in force because of strict bylaws on noise limits.

Western countries, including France, Belgium, Austria, Bulgaria, Switzerland and the Netherlands, have introduced full or partial bans on burkas, as well as some Italian and Spanish districts.

Learn your routes, you better learn your routes!

Just a heads up, it really _PAYS_ to know the best routes to take in Billings when you have the potential for flash floods. And by that I mean, never ever ***EVER*** under any circumstances should that include going by PAYS (public Auction Yards), 6th street underpass, or that little rinky dinky one down bybthe old Liberty Vine. This also includes staying off Zimmerman, 6th Ave N, and basically Rimrock so a rock doesn't smush you.

I was grateful to have this knowledge and foresight when there was the 5" monsoon a few years ago. And I sure as eff wouldn't _follow_ anyone thru the underpass—so an Impala ahead of you doesn't chicken out or overestimate their ability and stall out.

Thanks for coming to my TedTalk.

Time to get caught up on all the tea!

And kinda nervous now. Pop culture is getting messier. Excited to understand this alleged tea/split between Qualey and Antonoff. I'm a Swiftie, so my opinions of JackOff are fluid. Would listen to his burned "mix tape" would not date lol.

I was very excited for this release but the chatter in this group made me less excited. But I'm done with The Third Gilmore Girl so, here goes! Sorry if there is a dedicated thread. I missed it if so. I am just excited to see what resonates in the show/what doesn't line up, what character represents who irl [tho I know most of this from reading in this sub]

Family Bible missing hand-written entry page; missing pages from 23&Me—family secrets or senility from illness?

My grandma passed away a couple months ago and we discovered she ripped the hand-written page from the family Bible with all the birth and baptism records. Hmm… weird choice Grams, but ok.

My Grandma's 23&Me report. It was also ***MISSING PAGES*** in the middle. Like, what the heck?!.

Is this common? My grandma kept an immaculate home, yard/flowers, shared shop with my grandpa. She did die of liver cancer though; and looking back all the things blown off as "just grandma" are now seem more like "cognitive decline from progressing disease process."

Also worth noting, in the garden shed was an old burn barrel garbage can/lid with ashes in the bottom. We discussed if it was for flowers [apparently no, wood is best for this and this ash wasn't from wood—it was from paper]. I thought perhaps these missing pages were of that ash. I was told that's absurd when she had a paper shredder. But if I had something I didn't want me nosey grandkids/kids in, I'd probably burn it too rather than risk it.

I was shocked when my mom showed us the Bible with the missing page. As a lost Canadian working on claiming that citizenship, I know people's entire cases can hinge on these hand-written records. I don't need the Bible entry info but dang, Grandma! What the heck?!?

Billings Gazette building for sale?

Saw on the 5:30 news the Gazette building is for sale [again]. Does not bode well for the future of journalism. Has anyone heard the future plans, should the Gazette building sell?

Consider Deer Lodge just lost their newspaper press [and thus, surrounding areas]—I am anxious to see what the long game is?

And the new Scripps format is just as bad as everyone says. Feels like I'm watching an episode of Cocomelon—choppy and dizzying. Are these broadcasts mostly ai generated now?

What do I need to fix this threshold?

I can't figure out the pieces/part names I need to find to fix this gap in the door. Is there an L-shaped piece that I can buy? I have a net-zero energy house with an air exchanger—I think this gap is causing issues with the "seal"

Previous owner had some wood jammed in between the rubber thing and the grey plastic fascia. But just ripped that out because it was busted. So, now I can see daylight under my door. Also think it's a entry point for bug intrusion. I don't really want to buy an entire threshold kit. But also dunno the terminology. Please help! Thanks!

Would a contractor get a better deal than 30% off?

Haven't heard back on my "plug" for possibly getting a better price if I have them get it for me. But 30% isn't bad. Is $60 a pretty good price for Superpaint? Sucks because I remember it being about $15+ cheaper a couple years ago!

I just got a hybrid hot water heater installed, and would like to paint while I still have access to the space to try and hit the bare spots. Also stupidly used some sample quarts in the space so I primed over a lot—basically forcing me to paint. Was going to use the semigloss I have on hand for the trim, but I know I will have to paint everything or the random "flashing" or whatever will drive me nuts. It's how I learned the painter used the wrong paint on some of my walls.

Verizon for home internet?

Has anyone tried the $35/mo home internet thru Verizon? Is it different than the "jetpack" thing?

I am tired of paying for both Spectrum and Verizon. I pretty much use my Spectrum for streaming, email/work, and a couple smart home devices. Other than that I mostly use my phone. Just paid my Spectrum bill, which just went up another $10. I don't think TDS is in my neighborhood yet.

I'm sure there is some bundle thru Spectrum that would be cheaper but tbh I trust Verizon far more. My bill hasn't gone up constantly with them over the last 20 years—unlike Spectrum

Better Homes & Gardens 300# cotton percale v. Threshold percale [from less desirable country of origin]—or Amazon? <$50

I am in dire need of new sheets. I like 100% cotton and this sub taught me what my mother probably has said for years, percale is the way to go. Walmart had some BHG sets for $45 with pretty good reviews.

When I checked the Bullseye page on ebay, looked like they were out of queen size. I don't mind using Amazon if there's a more affordable/comparable and cheaper set.

The Threshold sheets I used [pretty much without much rotation] were 100% cotton made in Pakistan but i dont think they are percale.

Basically looking for cotton percale queen sheet set for under $50

Last minute canceling of weekly sessions by DPT becoming a problem

For those of you who see a PT weekly for things like visceral manipulation, manual lymphatic drainage, craniosacral, I'd like to hear from you.

I have major trauma from my first skilled PT who was located 2 hours away from me. She started canceling last minute all the time. This would often mean I was already 1 hour 50 minutes into my trip when I'd get the cancelation. So, when I started with my current PT—it was explained why I find the chronic, last minute cancelations problematic and triggering.

And here we are. It is getting to be a regular thing—got canceled on again this week. That's the 2nd week in a row, and a couple weeks prior to that, also.

It also absolutely pisses me off when people have somewhere "self-inflicted" troubles [like, obvious diet incompatibility causing them to have repeated "glutened" issues or the like. Better than the first who was battling secret alcoholism and a messy divorce+major personal health issues. But starting to feel similar.

I try to be understanding, but where do you draw the line? I literally can't tell if she just wants rid of me as a patient or just genuinely has such poor health/digestion/immune system that she isn't a good candidate for having her own clinic/practice? I rely on PT to put my bones where they belong and keep my adhesions/fascia issues at bay.

I have literally just stopped responding to her texts when she cancels, which is not very professional of me. But ffs. This sucks. We've had 2 deaths in the family this week and I was really counting on this session. And dealing with increasingly worsening mystery bruising on my ankle. So frustrated!!

Wtf is going on in Yellowstone Co?! This is the 3rd (?) fatal DV incident in the last year or so. And as if the fact it happened wasn't bad enough, the details in this story are horrifying. Yellowstone County failed Shawna Hart, her kids, and everyone involved. Not to mention the countless other violent, repeat offenders just waiting to be a horrific headline.

From the article:

Video surveillance later showed the vehicle had arrived at the farmyard around 12:10 a.m. April 23, and a man stepped out. He removed a bicycle from the trunk, ate food from a brown paper bag on the hood, then pedaled away on the bike. [wtf!]

At the time of his arrest, Grove had two warrants for his arrest from Billings Municipal Court: one related to a previous sentencing on an assault committed against Hart, and a second on charges that he allegedly pointed a gun at Hart’s children on March 29.

Grove was released from jail, where he was serving his sentence for the assault against Hart, 13 days before the murder.

Absolutely sad and infuriating. This dude is deranged AF. I'm not really an "eye for an eye" type of person—I just don't know if this is someone who can be rehabilitated. I'm sick to my stomach—proof restraining orders don't mean much more than the paper they're printed on.
