Washer/Dryer Labor Day Sale - currently on sale, wait?

We're currently looking at LG washer/dryer combo and they are on sale. The sale details are:

"Pre-configured bundle price includes $1,000 savings. Price valid through 8/23/26. Pre-configured bundle qualifies for $100 Costco Direct Savings."

Does that mean that might go on a bigger sale on 8/24?

Card of Darkness - Nihilist

besides scrolls, what’s the strategy with these? Their value goes down by 3 every time you clear a pile but I’m still always left with large amounts…

And since voidwolf eats adjacent enemies, it it’s up with high numbers and those don’t go down.

Singer 201-2 Clutch Slipping

Hello - after my last bobbin winding session, my clutch wheel/clamp screw is slipping just a minuscule amount, but it’s enough for the needle not to go up and down. The motor spins and the wheel turns, but it’s not engaging something internally so the machine doesn’t sew.

I tried tightening the stop screw and that didn’t help. I took the whole balance wheel out and checked for crud but there’s nothing wrong that I can see.

Is there anything else I can try at home?

Paddle board launch sites

I generally tend to go to Sammamish Landing or Luke McRedmond, but I’m looking new spots.

Luke McRedmond is great because parking is so close to the launch site and it doesn’t feel like a trek just go to the water from the parking lot (I’m looking ar you, Idylwood), but the river is just okay and I don’t love seeing everything beneath me 😅

Sammamish Landing is beautiful but I hate crossing the parkway and going down the stairs with the blown up SUP. And its always crowded.

What other spots do people like?

Moisture wicking bra with wide straps

I know this question has been asked to death at this point but all of the recommendations always have narrow straps. Does anyone have a bra recommendation for hot weather and band sweat that has wide straps? They do not have to be adjustable.

What kind of cukes?

These are supposed to be mexican sour gherkins but I’m thinking no… they’re a little bland tasting but nothing a sprinkle of salt won’t fix.

Singer 99K vs 15K vs 201-2

If you had to keep only one, which one would you keep and why? The 201 and 99 run, the 15 needs some considerable work (which I have never done before).

Blossom End Rot?

Is this blossom end rot on a burgeoning zucchini, or is this the blossom falling off, or did it not get pollinated and is falling off?

Speaking of pollinating, the male and female flowers opened in different days 🤦🏽‍♀️ what is supposed to happen?

Loosen stuck screw - pressure foot bar

I'm troubleshooting a clicking noise when I use heavier weight thread and someone commented that my pressure foot bar was jumping. I opened up the face plate and it looks like the bottom part of the spring is not sitting all the way on my lifter/lever. I'm guessing this is where the jumping is coming from. However, I cannot loosen that screw, it is really in there. I've tried oiling it to see if that loosens it up but no dice.

Is that what is causing the jumping, and any ideas on getting the screw out?

Ferries Busy During World Cup

I understand the ferries are busy this week due to World Cup travel. How busy is it to go to Bainbridge from Seattle in the morning? I'm assuming there's a "peak" direction and going to Bainbridge is opposite of what most people are doing? Hoping to drive onto the 9:35 on Friday.

201 Noise

My 201 was humming along beautifully and all of a sudden it's making a squeaking and a clicking noise. I've oiled everything, rethreaded, and changed bobbins. What are some other things to check?

Return Label Not Sent After 2 Calls

I had a replace a sensor due to failure and they sent me a return box with the replacement but not a label. I've talked to customer service twice, they say they will email it, and it never shows up. They don't have my credit card info so I don't see what they can actually do... has anyone run into this before? Should I request a third time? Their wait times are not short so it's quite annoying.

edit: seems like no one sends it back! It’s just weird because they sent the kit and not the label 🤷🏽‍♀️

CGM and A1C - what sort of information is useful?

Hi there -

I understand that a CGM will help me learn which foods spike my blood sugar, but how did you take that information to lower your A1C? Change what you eat? Did it give you enough information to really make a difference that you couldn't have done otherwise (e.g. eat whole grain bread instead of white bread)?

I would like to replace the button foot pedal with an electronic one but I'm confused... mine directly connects to the body of the machine because power plugs into the terminal. However, the ones online have a plug. Is this what I need to do?

  1. Open the Bakelite terminal
  2. Remove/cut the wires going to the pedal
  3. Reattach bakelite terminal
  4. Buy something like this: https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/products/singer-foot-control-and-cord-pfw-196131?media=35639087366431
  5. Plug that in on the outside of the terminal, and it will provide both power and connect the foot pedal.
