Speaking really impulsively and ruminating over it

HI so idk if this is a common experience but I TALK a LOT I just talk and talk and I don’t think really before I do it just pours out and then I’m like

Dang it

Why would you say that? How did that even occur to you? Why y you react like that? That joke wasn’t funny at all and they’re all going to hate you and you’re going to get fired / expelled / cut off

And then you just keep thinking that over and over and over for like days and you can’t forget and all the different times it happened add up and then you don’t want to socialize at all bc you’re bound to mess up again

And you don’t want to mess up again

Idk I don’t know how to fix this honestly but it’s eating away at me help pls

I can’t tell if he’s being nice and it’s like a joke / endearing thing or if he’s just calling me names… is dork usually used nicely?😔😔

The AI is getting out of hand with quick add and I will be canceling my subscription

it was one thing when it was optional. It’s no longer optional.

Why do I have to prompt an AI to just type in the calories of what I ate? I am extremely upset.

I don’t know who to contact about this but I hope somebody sees this from the company and fixes this issue. I have until August paid and then I’m switching to another app if nothing changes.

I miss what you used to be yazio. RIP

Recommendations for online dance classes like through YouTube??

Hello! I want to learn how to dance and I went to classes for a couple of months (I still suck but it’s ok…. At least it’s fun….) but now I moved and the dance studio nearest to me is like half an hour away and I can’t drive yet

Does anyone have any youtube recommendations that are around the length/style to irl classes? Preferably reggaeton or hip hop but I’m open to anything!

I don’t think I’ll ever find a perfect or even near perfect shade match

Nothing matches my skin. Cool toned bases and concealers are too pink, warm tones are too orange, NEUTRALS (which you would think would be… yk… neutral? Like more gray maybe???) also look orange??? Olive looks too green.

I spent like 5 hours in total yesterday between Sephora and Ulta trying basically everything and everything was either pink (which was honestly rarer) or orange.

Normalize having less saturated skin tones makeup industry pls I shouldn’t have to mix my foundation with grey.

“I don’t understand why Catholics believe that divorce is always wrong, the Bible is clear that it’s okay in the cases of abuse or cheating!”

Uhmmm not it’s not?? But I’m the problem for pointing that out ok. Tell me you haven’t read your own religious texts without telling me.

I was so FREAKING obsessed with theology and following the right thing when I was religious that it genuinely grinds my gears to see completely uninformed Christians try to act like they’re the ones who know everything about it…

Ex:”What god joined together let no man separate”

Also there’s no exception for abuse in the bible. You can interpret that in if you look hard enough and cherry pick but it’s definitely not “clear”

Friend fell down a far right religious pipeline

I’ve (17f) had a friend(also 17f) since freshman year of high school.

She was slightly religious (as in “i believe in god”) but very much feminist and anti inequality and stuff like that. Lately that’s changed

In the last couple of weeks she’s been talking about learning to not have opinions or speak up to attract a “dominant” “masculine” man. And how women need to know how to cook and clean.

She’s been parroting ERIKA KIRKS talking points… especially ones about women’s role and how women should start their own business that runs itself basically by the time the have kids (which I pointed out is incredibly unrealistic bc what kind of company doesn’t require you to do anything in it? Which she got very upset about)

She also talks about how billionaires really shouldn’t pay taxes and is in favor of the genocide in Palestine. She says things about how she’s better than other people because she wants to run her own business and be a trad wife (again completely contradicting ideas…)

Anyways. Ex friend now. It’s a shame. I miss who she used to be.

How to tolerate going to church if your parents are forcing you to go?

Basically the title. I’m living at home right now for college bc my Major is crazy demanding (engineering) and I can’t work full time while I study and therefore can’t afford to move out. My mom is going to forcing me to go to church (she is under the impression that I am religious but I am a liar 🤥) anyways

It’s so FREAKING boring and everything I hear is so egregious I can’t take it. I don’t like the songs and I don’t like the preaching and I don’t wasting 3+ hours a week. But it’s whatever since I don’t have a choice. Does anyone have any tips on being able to tolerate it better?

Also relevant but I have ADHD so the boredom is genuinely painful and I can’t stand it at all.

Does anyone know of a snack similar to these in the US? 🥹

I’m chronically unoriginal

Also I have ADHD if that’s relevant.

I’m chronically unoriginal, I can’t come up with things myself. Every idea I have i basically take from someone else or blend it with others ideas too to make it “more” original but it’s nothing interesting and it’s nothing new.

I don’t know who I am without the people I pretend to be.

And I don’t know how to discover it either. I feel like I could climb a thousand mountains and swim a million miles just thinking about who I am or I could be and it still wouldn’t really be anything I get from “myself” just whoever I think I “should” be at the time.

I write songs that sound like other songs and I paint paintings that look like someone else’s and I copy my writing styles from my favorite authors.

I even mimic the pattern of speech of whatever YouTuber/actor I’m obsessed with at the time. I genuinely watch their content and try to figure out what makes them “funny” or “cool” and try to replicate it.

I know it’s a loaded question but how do you figure out who you are?

I want to be creative and funny and charismatic but I can’t really be any of those things if it’s not really me being them if that makes sense

Reading apologetic books that caused me to deconstruct at the same time as a religious friend and realizing the difference in perspective.

I recently gave away my old copy of mere Christianity by CS Lewis. I had read it as a Christian, but honestly remember having so many issues with so many of his arguments that it caused me to question my faith. It actually sent me down a complete deconstruction path (I have adhd and it essentially became my hyperfocus for the year - it was all I thought about really) that lasted a little less than a year, and now I’m an atheist.

Arguments such as the existence of objective morality, materialism not explaining things well enough, people knowing moral law in their hearts, the need for the resurrection, the trilemma (liar lunatic or lord), free will, etc. all “made sense” when I read them the first time over.

However, I would still think. I would question them. I would ask why and how and research the history and the circumstances behind situations. And all of a sudden the arguments would stop making sense. One by one I would start crossing them off of my “convincing” list until none were left.

Free will justifies suffering? What about natural evil? Why would god make it? Etc etc

ANYWAYS the point is that I lent this book out to a friend, and she LOVES it. She’s asked to borrow my entire CS Lewis set and I told her she could keep it. I just can’t believe she found the answers satisfying. Idk if it’s the neurodivergent in me or what but I could NOT find any long term peace in the answers provided. Just “oh that makes sense. I need to not think about it too hard because the devil will put too many questions in my head” BUT GUESS WHAT the questions came anyways.

It’s so interesting to me to see how differently other people perceive the exact same writings and arguments - what type of questions they ask and what they get out of it.

I wanted my worldview to make sense AND be believable and I couldn’t work it out, but here is my friend seemingly eating up the words of Lewis like they’re her favorite ice cream flavor.

Also it’s important to add that I so very badly wanted it to be true. I had been very suicidal as a teenager when I turned to Christianity and I was afraid that when I left I would turn back to depression and nihilism. The stakes were very high and after I fully realized I didn’t believe anymore I cried for weeks. All of this to say that it wasn’t like I wanted to poke holes and disagree with everything. I really did try. I wanted so badly for what I had planned my life on to be real. But it wasn’t and here I am.

How to actually START

I have such a hard freaking time starting tasks it’s not even funny. I have so much i want to do and try and learn about and what not and I just never do and I think “ok today I’m going to try just to take ONE step for it” and I just never do.

It’s really embarrassing bc I honestly probably come off as a lazy loser and I feel like even for adhd it’s at a next level (or maybe not idk anyone else with adhd)

I just have so many projects I spend time daydreaming about doing but never actually doing and it’s so frustrating.

Hi guys!! I recently decided to start taking singing lessons and I found a teacher that gives them online but I’m worried they may not be able to help as much bc it’s online. Like will they be able to hear me properly? Will they be able to understand what I’m doing wrong?

Ty!

I feel like I have a very unlikable personality. I’m difficult to get along with honestly and Im very impulsive/blunt on accident even when im trying not to be and I’m honestly just about to give up. I’ve been trying to be better for like 2 years now and I feel like I’m just as annoying and difficult to get along with as I was before.

I(17f) just honestly want to feel normal. I want to do something and do it and not have my brain feel foggy all day and never actually get it done. I just sit around thinking “I need to do this”“I need to do this”“I need to do this” and I just don’t but I’m scared that if I get on meds and they don’t help, that’s it. Like I’m officially broken and I’ll never be normal. I don’t know if that makes sense but basically I just want to know if adhd meds actually make you function properly because to get them is basically have to fight my mom like crazy (like her getting up in my face and screaming and then silent treatment for freaking ever) and pay for them myself and I hear they’re quite expensive… so they’d have to be really worth it if that makes sense.
