Is It Doable?

Hey guys. I’m someone who’s traded in the past. I bought into GameStop back when it was going big. I am currently in school and work a little bit. I really want to get into daytrading but I’m a bit discouraged because of the current landscape. I’m under the impression that daytrading has mostly died because of AI, algorithmic analysis, market manipulation, etc. Is it possible to still make a living like this? What advice do you guys have? I read through the Wiki here a bit. I’m gonna buy some of the recommended books. Anyways, that’s all. Sorry if this post seems too green and is the wrong place to ask this.

Is RX Enough? ACTN3 Question

My question is simple: is the RX configuration of the ACTN3 polymorphism enough to get the majority of the strength benefits, even if RX individuals have 50% of the alpha-actinin-3 protein expression of RR individuals?

In olympic powerlifters, the RR and RX ACTN3 configurations seem to be commonly prevalent. On the contrary, the XX genotype is completely absent. It seems that on the elite level, having ACTN3 XX can limit you from competing in strength competitions. If RX is so common in elite powerlifting, how much better is it to have RR instead of RX?

X Brought Back Freedom Of Speech

If anyone doesn’t remember what the social media landscape was before X, it was horrendous. Everything was censored. Ever since Elon bough X, he’s had much looser restrictions on what can be posed. Because of this, every other social media platform has also had to loosen their censorship to make sure all their users don’t just automatically go to X. I remember before X I couldn’t even post anything on Reddit because of all the karma restrictions. Now I can post basically everywhere.

I Don’t Get How George Floyd’s Death And Charlie Kirk’s Death Are Even Comparable

George Floyd was on fentanyl during his time of death. He was convicted of eight crimes and served multiple jail terms. He robbed a house and held a woman at gunpoint. He was even a pornstar. This guy was a piece of shit.

On the contrary, Charlie Kirk was an upstanding member of society. He had zero criminal record. He was a family man, loyal to his wife, loved his children, was devoutly religions, etc.

I think the fact that Liberals went apeshit over the death of Floyd speaks volumes about the type of people they are. They care more about a criminal than the rest of us. Conservatives, on the contrary, didn’t riot at all or burn down cities over the death of Charlie Kirk.

MAOA VNTR vs rs6323 SNP

I’m wondering which one is more strongly correlated with MAOA activity. I know the 2R for the VNTR has the lowest activity, 3R intermediate, 4R high. I know the G allele for the SNP is correlated with high activity. What I don’t know is how impactful they both are when compared to each other. If anyone can enlighten me, please do so!

I’d Rather Take A Statin Than Watch My Diet

I love saturated fat. Give me a ribeye cooked in butter and I’ll be happy. I’d much rather just take a statin that have to micromanage my saturated fat intake.

Edit: I forgot to mention I have familial hypercholesterolemia. I really don’t have a choice between taking or not taking a statin . . . my cholesterol will be high no matter what diet I follow.

Different Dietary Fat And Mortality Risk

Saturated fat raises LDL cholesterol. That is one mechanism via which saturated fat intake increases mortality risk.

People With Genetic Diseases Should Avoid Having Kids

If you have a genetic disease, you should probably not have kids. It isn’t fair to your children to make them suffer for no reason. This world is a harsh place, and people are not forgiving. Your children will most likely get socially ostracized (depending on the disease of course), picked on, struggle with dating, etc.

The issue people have with this concept is it crosses over into eugenics. Where do you draw the line for what’s considered “morally wrong” to pass onto your kids? Is it wrong to not also make sure they’re tall, smart, attractive, etc.? Or is it wrong to play God and purge humanity of what makes us human?

IQ Is Mostly Genetic, Not Environmental

I hear a lot of people believe that intelligence is completely environmental. I even knew a highly successful celebrity neuroscience professor who told me this! That’s not what twin studies show. On the contrary, IQ is said to be 50% to 80% genetic in origin. It also strongly correlates with success whether it’s academic or financial, so it’s an important metric.

On another note, why do people always seem to downplay the science around IQ? Scientists attribute high IQ in populations to genetics while low IQs in populations are always environmental! Seems like that’s not very scientific and more of a political move.

Cuckery Is Actually Disgusting

I think if you’re a cuck you’ve failed at life. It’s the most embarrassing and humiliating thing you can be as a man. You have zero self respect and that’s why no one respects you either. If you’re a cuck, you truly need to reevaluate your life choices.

Every “-ist” and “-phobe” word is overused.

I’ve seen people with multiple kids get called an incel. I’ve seen multiracial people get called racist. The list goes on and on. Remember when people got “Nazi” keyed into their Teslas just because Elon Musk is the CEO?

I believe that all of these buzzwords have lost their meaning. People use them incorrectly. They call people them way too frequently. And honestly? I’m sick of it.

No Sarah, Joseph isn’t a pedophile supporter because he likes XYZ politician. Ryan isn’t racist because he’s proud of his culture. Yes, it’s possible to disagree with someone without being a bigot.

Egyptian History Is Not Black History

I see a lot of African American people (Subsaharan Africans) try to claim Egyptian history as their own. They will say Egyptians were African! We came from the Egyptians! I even see a lot of non-African people attempt to attribute Egyptian history to African Americans.

The truth is quite different. The most similar modern ethnic group to the ancient Egyptians according to DNA testing is the Coptic Christians. In other words, the Egyptians were closer to middle eastern people than to black people.

I took a class called “Introduction To Ancient Civilizations” and the teacher kept showing us Egyptian history and asking us how this demonstrates “black empowerment.” How is Egyptian history empowering when it’s not your history?

Anyways. Sorry to go on the tangent. No hate towards Subsaharan Africans either. You guys got your own history and accomplishments. My argument is just a criticism of historical inaccuracy, appropriation, and the intellectually illiterate.

Supremo Italiano Potential Trans Fat?

Hey everyone. Every morning I consume 6 eggs drenched in olive oil. I took an Omega-3 index test, and to my surprise, I had very high levels of a trans fat. This was unusual for me because I always cook and eat at home. I use olive oil for everything, so it’s the only thing that would make sense to be giving me trans fats. Are there any databases I can use to look up the quality of Supremo Italiano? I’m trying to prove to my family that it’s a low quality olive oil and probably cut with hydrogenated oils.

Does anyone else supplement alpha linolenic acid?

Hey everyone! For some reason, every type of EPA and DHA supplement gives me brain fog. Doesn’t matter if it’s from algae, krill, fish, you name it. For this reason, I recently started supplementing the precursor, ALA (with flaxseed oil), to make sure my body has at least what it needs to make EPA and then DHA.

On another note, there seems to be some independent health effects of ALA supplementation beyond its precursor role to making EPA. People who consume >3g daily have a decreased all cause mortality (lower risk of dying). Would you consider ever supplementing with it?
