Unsure if this goes here since it’s multi towns

I applied to many through this website that manages a bunch in NJ. You don’t apply to the complexes but to the towns and they’ll automatically add you to the complexes lists. Many haven’t issued me a lottery number yet, I have to wait for the lottery to open and then I’ll get a number. I guess I’m on the waitlist of the waitlist 😂

One town’s complex just had a lottery last week so I have a lottery # of 10,490. My question is another complex on that same town will have a lottery in October. Does that mean that they pull from the existing list for the town or do they run another lottery?

I’m confused 😂 and feel like 10k is just my forever number

ran my roomba & cried

My almost 16 year old girl Roxy died July 6. Tonight,
5 weeks later, is the first time that I ran the roomba since she’s been gone. I cried and sobbed.

I would run it everyday, the easiest was to let it do its thing while we were out on our morning walk. Hurrying her up so it wouldn’t bump into her as we made a dash for the door. Or if we took a short walk, when we got back it would bump into her as she made her way around the apt. I would try and have her stay on her bed but that didn’t always work. ❤️

I have a small apt, so the living room was called her room since her crate was set up in there and it’s the first room you enter. She would always greet me excitedly but as the past year went on, she would be sleeping. Sometimes she would pop her head up sometimes she didn’t hear me at all or would be in another room.

Well her room is where she gobbled up her last burger and was free from pain. I haven’t moved her bed and blanket since that day, it’s in the middle of the floor. Tonight I moved it over a little so the roomba wouldn’t eat it.

I miss my girl and these little things break my heart. Run free muttie, my lil mama. Love you always.

Pediatrician recommendations

Please share your pediatrician recommendations. I tried one place that a friend suggested in Belleville, I was waiting extremely long before being seen. While I know that was sometimes can’t happen but waiting over an hour with a cranky toddler who is sick, not too ideal. I found out that this is the norm for this office!

Scalp is sore without any sores

I typically wash my hair every day or every other day. This week, I didn’t wash my hair for four days and now parts of my scalp are sore. I feel around in those areas and do not have any sores or scabs.

I went back to my regiment of washing my hair with head and shoulders. Original and letting it sit for 10 minutes, but the soreness is still there. I also did a vinegar rinse with no relief.

Suggestions would be appreciated

How can I help my DIL?

My DIL is due at the end of August. I don’t want to be overbearing, what are ways that I can help her? I live 15 min away. We are mtg this wknd to go over her birth plan. What is a soft way to ask if they want me there during labor, do they want me to stay over after the baby is born. Are these odd questions?

So far, I made a few meals for their freezer.

Why does it feel like she never existed?

I absolutely hate this feeling! My almost 16 year old girl (12 yrs w me) was put to sleep 4 days ago. Prior to her appointment for in-home euthanasia, I sobbed and cried so much … unsure if I was making the right decision and how I was going to function moving forward.

As soon as the next day after her passing, I started wondering if she even ever existed. It is a horrible feeling because I love her so much. I read that it is my brain protecting me from the immense pain but I feel like this is worse.

Has anyone experienced this?

—— history of the last 1+ month

Even though she was a senior, up until May, her blood work was perfect. In May, her glucose was in the 60s and there was concern of insulinoma. I added some carbs to her diet and when she retested she was at 80.

Fast forward to the beginning of June, she started collapsing, so I brought her into the ER. Her glucose was at 28, they were surprised that she was not seating or in a coma. She stayed there for 2–3 days.

I decided to do palliative care and was frequently taking her glucose for trending purposes and making sure that she wasn’t crashing again. A month later and she’s gone.

Client lost power at AIR BNB & came home

They lost power on Friday and toughest it out in last weeks heat wave. They lost power again on Sunday and decided to come home that afternoon. I only had 3 more visits w her dogs.

Policy is no refunds when clients return early but I feel this was out of their control, they wanted to stay longer but just not feasible due to the heat. They are a frequent client. Unsure if I should give a credit or not. Share your thoughts

Thx!

Euthanasia too soon?

Would you prefer to euthanize your sick dog while they are still semi-happy or wait until they are not themselves at all and body completely failing?

My 16 yr old has a grade 3 heart murmur and insulinoma, (pancreas cancer tumors push insulin when it shouldn’t) on a special diet with meals every 4 hours, sometimes doesn’t want to eat, unable to go on her enjoyable walks (only potty breaks), appears spaced out at times, pants at times. Many times I am checking if she is still breathing.

It appears that I’m feeding her constantly to stay alive (or else her # drop). She sleeps and goes out for a potty break, she gets frustrated that we can’t go on walks. Last night her glucose dropped, she was extremely anxious and panting, I was able to get it back up.

She’s not use to this sedentary lifestyle. I have an appt later this week because I don’t want her crashing and have to be put down immediately and feel doing it early is better. But of course torn on deciding what’s best.

Disassociating

I went to get some blood drawn today and started to disassociate. The person was preparing my arm to take blood and she asked if I was ok. Of course, I said yea but asked for some water since a bottle was near by. She said she’d give me a few minutes, I told her that I was fine. I didn’t want to waste time there.

So aggravating to randomly disassociate throughout the day. I often can pull myself back in.

🐶 schedules & Daughter’s pregnancy

My daughter is due in a couple of months. I will be there when she’s at the hospital and in labor but I’m unsure how to handle my dog walking scheduled clients. I will not be adding any vacationers to the reg schedule.

When I usually take time off, I give advance notice but obviously w a baby coming, an exact date/s can’t be given.

How have or would you handle?

Business:
I have my own pet business, as a solo walker. I have a regular dog walking client-base schedule during the week.

***no pet sitting will be scheduled
