Correct me if I am wrong, but Vegeta seems to be presented as somewhat wiser than Goku currently in terms of trying to be a better fighter

Vegeta seems to be wiser than Goku currently, especially in terms of both fighting and learning how to become a better fighter imo.

Vegeta at times, would advise Goku in the ways of being a better fighter. Vegeta is also actively taking from his experiences in his battles with his opponents, even more than Goku currently is, from what it seems.

This change seems to have started to be especially more frequent when he first achieved Ultra Ego and learned from Bardock's experiences.

What do you guys think of this? Correct me if I am wrong and show some clips/panels!

What matchup can you think of for Vegeta with Ultra Ego? (Read Desc)

-Vegeta is already in Ultra Ego

-Can be a close matchup

-Can be a matchup where the characters parallel each other

-Equal stats matchups count as well

-Hand to Hand Equal Stats matchups count as well

-Both Inverse and Crossverse matchups count except for Goku

Skillsets and Abilities Vegeta gains in Ultra Ego

  • Destruction (aka Hakai)- When used, it can erase something from existence. That matter that is erased releases energy in the form of an explosion, which can deal damage to an opponent.
  • Unbounded power- Said potential for this power is unbounded. It is limitless in how strong it can get.
  • Form Evolution- The form is able to evolve due to the fact that Vegeta's main mindset is to focus on the battle. Currently, the fastest way to evolve the form is to take damage in battle. The more Vegeta is immersed in the battle, the better his form becomes. This leads to the form becoming stronger as a result.
  • Passive Destruction Aura- An aura that resembles flames. His aura is strong enough to defend him from attacks, likely erasing it. He can use his aura as a smokescreen as well, preventing opponents from being able to see properly. It is also likely that his aura alone could kill an opponent if he wanted to. He only used this in the beginning of his fight against Granolah in the form of Ultra Ego, as far as I know.
  • Massive Energy Ball of Destruction- Vegeta uses this twice. Once against Granolah, and another against Gas. It is Hakai put into a massive energy ball, which could destroy a planet if successful. When Granolah shot it with his attack, the explosion that followed showed that Vegeta was likely right when he claimed that it could destroy a planet.

Let me know what I missed so that I may add it to the list of Ultra Ego's abilities!

u/slenderontheblock — 6 days ago

Why are these uses of Destruction different from one another?

One utilizes erasing a victim by simply turning them to dust. No real explosion. The other utilizes straight up blowing up the opponent. This is the one Vegeta uses, and Goku does say that they are basically the same as well, so why are they different?

Is Beerus simply using a more refined one, or is Beerus using one that is just weaker on purpose?

The Guidebook just redefined Kong's strength with the Beast Glove

Regardless of what we like and our views, Kong's strength with the Beast Glove has been redefined due to this statement.

Now, we have two scenarios. One, Kong may punch up in the power comparisons when comparing him to other titans. And two, Kong is considered nerfed as the statement may be used against him.

Very interested to see how this plays out.

Is there a reason why characters are considered to have Immersurable speed once they enter a place where things like time and space do not exist?

Image somewhat related

Is there a reason for this? From what I understand, this has been commenly claimed even when that character has many speed feats to disprove it. Said character might even have other characters that scale above them that have speed feats that show that they aren't immeasurable.

I just find it hard to believe that a character can be immeasurable in speed from this alone, when it is highly likely that the author hasn't even thought of this. IMHO I think this should only apply when the story or statements back it up as that would show that the story is aware of this fact.

Kong Combat Skill Analysis (spoilers for Escape from Skull Island)

King Kong

This post is for Kong fans who want to know more about one of Kong's biggest factors in a fight. Despite having some knowledge of skill, I don't think I would be able to point out every combat skill that Kong did, like if he used a fighting style during his fight. I will try my best, though.

Small Mention About Kong's Fighting Style

Based on what I've seen, Kong tends to rely on his fists the most when fighting other titans, as this is the strongest and most useful part of his body which can do damage. The most common moves he uses are haymakers, overhead strikes, and an uppercut. The haymakers and the overhead strikes are done, likely to make him feel more like an animal, as that is what he is at the end of the day. One of his most iconic finishing moves is the Jaw Breaker, a move where he grabs the opponent's jaws and splits them open, however, he has mostly been unsuccessful in using this. Kong is also known for grabbing things that could be used to his advantage during combat, like a rock or sand.

Adaptation

Disclaimer: I do not have the video nor the statements showing that Kong can adapt in combat at the moment, so if someone has them, could you please send them to me? Thanks!

Kong, throughout his time in the Monsterverse, has shown the ability to adapt during combat. This is shown during his time when he fought Skar King. I will post what I posted in the other post.

During the first half of the battle between Skar King and Kong, Kong is armed with the axe during this time and Skar King is armed with the whip. While Kong is obviously stronger, it is made much more clear that Skar King was the more skilled combatant to the point where he was running circles around Kong. Skar King would take advantage of Kong's lack of knowledge of his combat skills, didn't allow for any hit from Kong to even land, and at one point he safely prevented Kong from landing swing via taking advantage of the way the axe was made, trapping the weapon, and at the end, took advantage of Kong's focus on picking up the weapon to land a strike on Kong, which injured him.

Skar King successfully blocks Kong's weapon without touching the blade of the weapon

During the second half of the fight, Skar King disarmed Kong, and put him in a choke hold, intending to end the fight using the information he gathered about Kong, however, Kong got his bearings together and broke free. At that moment, Skar King when he got back up, had decided that Kong was too much for him and that if they fought again, Kong would kill him. This was stated in the novel. After this, Skar King decided to use Shimo. Now, why would Skar King suddenly give up the fight and opt to use his ultimate weapon when he was doing so well initially? Well, it's because Kong had adapted to Skar King's combat skills. As stated by Adam Wingard I believe, Kong had basically adapted to Skar King's skills. Even without the statement, this is made clear by the fact that Kong was actually able to land an attack for the first time and that Skar King decided to use his ultimate weapon instead of fighting in CQC despite the fact that he was doing so well in the fight. This is also made clear many more times during the film as well when Kong is able to fight evenly against Skar King in zero gravity, when Skar King had both the axe and the whip at the time while Kong only had the glove. Another example is when Skar King would constantly send Shimo after Kong w/ the Beast Glove during the final battle because he knew that if he were to continue fighting Kong alone, he would die.

Skar King chokes Kong here, however, after choking him, Kong manages to get Skar King off of him and do damage to him for the first time

Skar King is an ape who is stated to be smarter than Kong. (I believe the statement was in a post production video that talked about GxK. The same video where it was stated that Kong was initially holding back against Godzilla, however, I can't find it.) Regardless of not being able to find the video, he is clearly more skilled initially and has more battle experience due to the fact that he lived much longer than Kong, and yet Kong was able to adapt to this and forced Skar King to use his ultimate weapon instead of engaging with Kong further.

Another example of Kong adapting was when he fought Godzilla. During this time, however, he was rusty due to not being in an environment where his life was constantly in danger from other creatures. During the second round in Hong Kong, Kong was on the ropes, constantly dodging Godzilla's atomic breath, and was also unable to get close to Godzilla due to it. He was also mostly unsuccessfully able to hit Godzilla with the axe initially, and the only time he was able to hit him was on the leg, which wasn't as lethal.

Stabbed in the leg by Kong

Near the end of the second round, however, Kong was able to achieve three things. Successfully dodge the atomic breath, get closer to Godzilla, and almost directly hit Godzilla on the head with the axe. This is all due to the fact that Kong adapted to the situation.

Kong successfully dodged Godzilla's atomic breath, got closer to him, and nearly hit him with the axe

Further examples of Kong adapting was when he fought Camazotz. One of the main reasons why Kong wasn't able to properly fight Camazotz was because of the fact that Camazotz possessed a sonic screech, which was loud and disoriented Kong.

Camazotz screeches at Kong, preventing him from being able to attack properly

Nearing the end of the fight, Kong successfully prevents him from screeching again by punching his mouth before he could screech.

To prevent Camazotz from screeching, Kong punches and breaks his mouth

The final adaptation feat, as of right now, that I know of is that Kong was able to survive alone on an island for almost 400 years from the moment he was a newborn until he was an adult.

Other Notable Combat Skills

Amongst Kong's best skill feats is the one where he fought Titan X. During this time, he was actively defending the humans from their fray.

Kong grabs the tentacles that were about to hit the humans, successfully preventing them from getting hit

During this fight, Kong takes advantage of Titan X wrapping her tentacles around his arm, by grabbing it and pulling Titan X in order to punch her.

Titan X grabs Kong's arm with her tentacles, so Kong retaliates by grabbing Titan X's tentacles and punching her

Kong shows off more of his combat skills when he faces Yuggoth's army in the comic Escape from Skull Island #4, where, although he was armed with a sword, he would face multiple opponents at the same time. This was before he was an adult.

Kong stabs a Wartdog while simultaneously getting bitten by a Warbat

Kong has also shown skill during his time in the movie Kong: Skull Island. At one point, he got attacked by the Mire Squid, which he stopped by stomping on its head, crushing it. From what we can gather of this battle and from the fact that he is eating it, we can determine that he has experience hunting these superspecies.

Kong stomps on the Mire Squid's head, crushing it.

Kong also faced two adolescent Skullcrawlers, whom he killed in combat while also not even getting hit by them.

Kong redirects one of the skullcralwer's lunge and throws him out of frame

During his fight with the Big One, aka the Skull Devil, Kong would temporarily divert his attacks away from him, similarly to how he did with the smaller Skull Crawlers. This is likely due to the fact that he has a lot of experience fighting the smaller ones.

Redirects a lunge from the Skull Devil away from himself

At one point, Kong's attention was away from the fight, and so the Skull Devil took advantage of this and lunged at Kong. Kong would take advantage of this, regain his footing by doing a roll, which caused him to also avoid any further attacks from the Skull Devil, and used the momentum to punch the Skull Devil, knocking him down temporarily.

W.I.P I will finish this later

Yuggoth Mini Analysis Post

This titan is unique in the monsterverse in that it can control other creatures through a pathogen that is released from its body. It also seems to be able to see through the infected as well and can tell what they can see.

Those that Yuggoth infects were observed to seemingly attack together as one mind, implying that the infected a a hive mind connected to Yuggoth.

Yuggoth is also seemingly intelligent enough to know that the characters want to leave the island and launched a counter attack in response.

Yuggoth also has a face, although it is likely hidden most of the time by the mushrooms on his head.

Yuggoth can also regenerate seeing as he regained his leg that he lost from the previous issue and has no signs of damage taken from the fall.

Yuggoth can also manipulate his limbs to form different shapes, although the limit of this is unknown as of right now.

Kong was easily able to tear off its leg while he was weakened and infected, meaning that Yuggoth's durability probably isn't that good, but it makes up for it with its regen.

It was dominating in the fight against a weakened Kong for a while until Kong ripped its leg off, causing it to fall off the mountain.

It was able to survive a long drop from a mountain.

There are two potential reasons for it appearing now. One is that it was waiting for an opportunity to take over skull island without Kong being as much of a threat. Two is that it was likely born that day, as it is implied to have been made from skull island. Number one seems more likely to me as it fits the narrative better and there's more evidence for it.

Yuggoth can seemingly release spores from itself to infect others creatures on skull island. Yuggoth can also touch you to infect you faster as Kong wasn't initially affected by the spores released from Yuggoth however, he was affected by Yuggoth's touch.

Yuggoth can regenerate via using the ground from beneath him for mass.

Yuggoth infected majority of the creatures on Skull Island.

Yuggoth is an Alpha Titan confirmed. He is referred to multiple times as a king and it is stated there cannot be two kings (referring to Yuggoth and Kong).

Yuggoth can use the infected swarm as an extension of himself. He was even able to command the swarm to intercept some boats containing the inhabitants of Skull Island.

During his fight with a stronger Kong than the one he fought before, he was able to send Kong flying with just one of his punches, consistantly. He even forced Kong to follow the humans, luring Yuggoth into a trap.

Yuggoth was also shown the ability to manipulate his limbs to the point where he could extend them to hit opponents from a distance (Not to a crazy amount, just enough so that he could extend his reach to opponents that would otherwise be out of his reach).

As of the recent Escape from Skull Island comic issues, Yuggoth has shown the capability of infecting and controlling Superspecies that are around the same size as the Kong from the Skull Island series or bigger. He can also influence them from a large distance.

Yuggoth has also been shown the ability to extend his influence to things like weapons that are made of the same materials as him.

Let me know what I missed!
