Your favorite artists that you're casually a fan of?

By casual I mean you may know close to nothing about the artist, group, or individual members, or what you do know is very surface level, yet you listen to their music a lot.

My top one is Triple S. I know enough to know why there's so many of them and how the company works the group dynamic, but I don't have the energy or will to put my emotional investment into 20 - 30 girls, and the way the company runs the fandom spaces confuses me, so I just stick to listening to their music. I never know when new music is gonna drop but when it does there's always at least one banger that becomes one of my all-time faves.

Others include XG, Hearts2Hearts, and Chungha.

How do I start acting my wage?

I'm a receptionist and there is lots of down time where there's literally nothing for me to do and no one who needs my help. I'm not allowed to be on my phone and I feel really antsy just sitting and doing nothing.

Because of this, whenever the boredom is too much to handle, I'll clean up and organize my coworkers desks, wipe down the counters, or try to do things that will make my coworkers lives easier in small ways. Recently I organized the supply closet that apparently hadn't been straightened up in years.

My coworkers have expressed their appreciation and even managers have recognized that I'm a high performer and like that I actually care about the policies and procedures. I definitely go above and beyond and care more about being productive than any of the other receptionists.

The thing is, I'm only making minimum wage and work part time. I often feel like my efforts are in vain because the other departments I work with don't care at all about their jobs and do the bare minimum. I never intended to move up in this job so I don't feel the need to prove myself, but I also know I'm exactly the type of employee that is kept where they are instead of getting a raise or promotion because I already do so much when getting paid so little, which was exactly why I left my previous job (where I DID have intentions to move up).

I've reached a point where I no longer want to care so much to go above and beyond when my pay doesn't reflect that. (I've asked for more hours but my workplace is really strict about only allotting a certain amount of hours, and it's gotten even worse after 6 employees were recently fired for overtime time theft that wracked up to $21k.)

I always intended for this job to be temporary but I actually do like my workplace, which is also what contributes to me wanting to be a high performer. But when I try to just sit at my desk, my ADHD makes me too restless, and my autism compels me to clean and organize in ways that make more sense. I can't use my phone or read a book. The only thing I can really turn my attention to is the TV in the lobby which has only been running the World Cup which I'm so sick of (and if I change it my coworkers will change it back when a game is on).

I don't know what to do. Help?

For those dyslexic, what are your daily struggles?

Since dyslexia is a common thing with AuDHD, how much do you guys struggle with it?

For me, letters on a page don't pop out or change shape, but the letters will rearrange themselves into a different word (or name) leading to a lot of confusion on my side.

I'm a receptionist, so I'm constantly having to look up people's names to check them into their appointments, and in the system we use, you have to enter the exact name or the guest's profile won't appear even if you're off by one letter. Because I'm constantly misspelling things, and because everyone annoyingly assumes I know how to spell their name, I always ask guests to spell it for me (which some people really fucking suck at enunciating their own names).

My biggest enemies are the letters G and J, specifically when it's spoken to me. I had a realization relatively recently that I'm not just dyslexic when reading, but when letters are said aloud it immediately gets all mixed up in my head.

Perfect example of this: The other day I was checking in a boy and when I asked for his name he said Gio (plus his last name). When I entered his name it didn't pop up. I knew this kid had been here before so I was confused why his profile wasn't showing. So I asked him to spell it like 5 times and still nothing. Finally I deleted his first name and just searched his last name and.... his name was Jio. He'd been telling me J the whole time but my brain kept auto-correcting to G. This happens EVERY TIME. I felt so ridiculous because I almost had him make a new account 😭 Sometimes I wonder how many guests must think I'm just an idiot lol.

How do you think Dancing Queen would've been received it it had been promoted alongside Gee?

I think about this pretty much every time I listen to Dancing Queen. If it had never been cut from Gee promos, how would it have played out?

It goes without saying that Gee would've still blown up, but if all had gone according to plan, would SM have released DQ before or after Gee? Would Gee promos have looked any different? Would DQ have been shoved aside and forgotten about, or would it have blown up as big as Gee? Would SNSD have gotten flack for "copying" Duffy? (I know they didn't, but during Gee era the antis were intense and they would've for sure spread that rhetoric).

Is this normal when you’re seeing someone?

I’m posting this here because I genuinely don’t know if I’m just too AuDHD to read the situation right.

For context, I’m 29 and have only been on a couple dates in my life. I’m really shy when it comes to this kind of stuff because I’m not that experienced. I had pretty much given up on having a love life until recently.

For a year I’ve had a crush on a coworker (also 29) but I have a policy for myself that I don’t date coworkers even if I like them. Recently he quit so I finally made my move and he was clearly also interested.

Last week we went to dinner for our first date. It went really well and we ended up just talking for 4 hours. After we decided to wrap up the date he took me out to my uber and gave me a tight hug. I thought the date went really well and he seemed totally into it too but when I told my sibling and friends about it they all said it was weird how he didn’t drive me back to my place. Their response to the hug was “that was it??” Like it was expected that he’d kiss me or that we’d go somewhere else (but by that point it was 10pm and I could tell he was really tired).

This didn’t bother me at first but after every time we’ve hung out, literally everyone has said it’s weird that he lets me take uber instead of driving me, and how nothing intimate happens. I’ve asked his friends before about his past relationships but their response was that they didn’t know if he’s had a girlfriend before.

Tomorrow is our second date and now I’m conflicted. He’s a very respectful and considerate guy and I can tell he respects that I’m shy and kinda nervous but I’m also not a prude or closed off. At first I didn’t mind taking Ubers and only hugging because it took the pressure off of having to expect a lot of intimacy right away. However, everyone is basically telling me what my expectations should be and making me feel insecure and unsure.

My feelings for him haven’t changed and I know he likes me too and is probably just being mindful of my shyness, but now I really don’t know how to read this situation. He could very well be like me and lacks experience (he also might be ND too) but idk anymore. Again, none of this bothered me before but now it’s getting to me because I don’t know what my expectations “should” be because I’ve never had a relationship before. I feel so naive and, for lack of a better word, dumb. It’s kind of killing my vibe lol. Should I just stop telling people about what we do?

Why some stores stock Ateez albums way before the release date

Hey all, I just saw a post about a store that had already fully stocked Ateez's new album. A lot of commenters were saying that this keeps happening and were outraged at the store. As someone who worked in retail, I can tell you what's (most likely) happening here to clear up the confusion.

Every item in a store has an official release date listed in their inventory system, and when it's received the system will display if the item is SOS or not. SOS = strict on sale = you cannot sell the item before the release date or the store gets penalized. However, if an item is not listed as SOS, stores can and will sometimes stock the item when they receive it instead of it's official release.

It's the publisher/distributor's responsibility to list an item as SOS, not the store. Sometimes the publisher/distributor doesn't list the item as SOS until after stores have already received it. This happened sometimes at the bookstore I used to work at. For example, when a new Alice Oseman book was coming out, we stocked the copies we had a few days before it's official release date because that's when we had received it, then suddenly the system updated it to be SOS and we didn't notice until one had already sold. The assistant manager then told us to pull the remaining copies from the shelves.

It's possible some of these stores are deliberately stocking Ateez's albums early, but I highly doubt it because, again, they'd get penalized and it's hard to imagine any store manager/owner risking that. So, either KQ (or whoever the distributor is) ISN'T listing the albums as SOS, or they're not listing it quick enough before retailers receive the product, so please don't be mad at these stores and the employees because a lot of it is misdirected anger. I promise they're not trying to break the rules to make a quick profit 🙏

What are your favorite Ateez b-sides? I'm going with 8 because 5 seems to short but 10 seems a little long lol. This includes solos if they were included on a group album.

Mine in no particular order:

  1. Ghost [Golden Hour Pt. 4]
  2. Dune [Outlaw]
  3. This World [Outlaw]
  4. Wake Up [Outlaw]
  5. Blind [Golden Hour Pt. 1]
  6. We Know [Will]
  7. New World [Movement]
  8. Cyberpunk [Movement]

Except for Cyberpunk and the Outlaw mini I never see anyone mention these songs which makes me sad because they are such gems 😭 I also would've included Don't Stop if it didn't have a mv but I feel like it's one of those songs everyone forgets about but it's one of their best ever tbh.
