Fictional energy source ideas? Pls help me out, I rly don't wanna use AI :(

Hellooo people who are hopefully better in physics, or whatever this is, than me lol
I'm currently working on a sci-fi graphic novel and I already have the general history of their planet but still miss the main energy source.
The timeline is basically:
- humans on our planet (or similar parallel universe) sent out a rocketship to search for a planet B
- the rocketship went through space for hundreds of years, then it got crashed by (idk yet)
- the part of the rocket that contained all their laboratory probes and also the fuel tank lands on the current planet
- this sends an automatical emergency signal back to earth
- by now earth is basically ruled by AI and unlivable, but the rich had enough time in their bunkers and found a way to actually make a wormhole work
- so they travel to the coordinates the original rocket collapsed and find the planet
- in the time the signal traveled back to earth new life from the probes and bacteria.... formed at the current planet
- the rocket tank evolved into the main energy source
- the big bosses of the humans claim this as their own and build a society around it
- now it's already a few hunderd years later

The question is:
What energy sources could that be?
Is there something that could be in theory fused from a rocket fuel and something that could be naturally found in a foreign planet? Or some occurrences that could get activated by the crash?

I'm lost here and really need some smart people to help me out. And I really don't want to use AI.

Thank you so much !

Beginners luck!

This was initially my partners plant, he got some carnivores gifted and they stayed with me for a while. This one seemed to like it so much at my window we just couldn't take it away from it. So I rearranged a bit and gave it a nice pot with a good drainage level and a small glass tube to fill it up (last photo).
It basically exploded and is now flowering!
I had no knowledge of carnivorous plants and although I do own a lot of other houseplants I don't think I did anything special, so let's just call this one beginners luck, huh? :)

Any input regarding letter beads tattoos?

I have several tattoos and I'm going to my tattoo artist again in fall. This time a rather small tattoo but one I've wanted forever: "create imperfection".
Now.. I feel just a normal lettering would be a bit boring, it is a tattoo about creativity after all lol.
So I figured it might look cool to write it as kind of an open bracelet with letter beads, I'll attach a reference photo but I don't think I want this much other beads to it I wouldn't add much of a 3D effect to it. I initially definitely wanted it to be in b/w like my other tattoos but it's also kinda intriguing to have one very colorful tattoo lol.
Another problem is that I want it to be on my right arm and to kinda flow towards my hand, as a reminder when I'm creating something with this hand to allow imperfection.
Now, of course you wouldn't read it from right to left (in the direction of my hand) so I thought I could mix the letters to go in different directions but still writing the two word sentence.

I'm sorry I wasn't able to explain it a bit shorter.
Thank you!!

Do I need to change the speech bubble colour of my comic/graphic novel?

So I VERY impulsively started a comic and am now almost at page 80. It became more serious and I hope I can print it one day!
I started with doing the bubbles in the colour of the skin and the text is in purple as well as the persons outlines.
I became more and more insecure about that tho especially about the darker teal colour because it might be too hard to read.
What do you think? Do I need to go back and change them?
If so I'd just make all of them the same colour as the light background colour (it's a very soft pink) and the text still in purple so I can save myself some time for the ones I haven't combined yet (most of them are tho and I'd have to rewrite everything...)
Any other suggestions are welcome.
(The pictures are some random ones I got on my phone, the second one isn't finished there lol and I tried to make myself a watermark just in case lol)
Thank you :)

Meat eaters wanting something from the separately cooked vegan option

Before I get started:
I feel embarrassed, I know it's a bit childish and I know that in the end it is a good thing when people try more vegan food!
BUT. It just drives me crazy every time. You get somewhere, bring your own vegan options or prepare something together where you make one part vegan... you know how it goes.
You sit down to eat. Suddenly a lot of the non-vegan people that have basically all of the food for them want something from "your food" (oh that doesn't even look that bad..).
Of course you want to teach them that yes a vegan burger tastes delicious, but at the same time I get so angry inside me.
Last time we even asked if someone wanted something from it but they rather had their meat.
I think I need some thoughts on how to cope.
I know that being a dick and not sharing the food is ridiculous lol

DIYd a NukaCola cap for my keys!

A 3D printed lid that lost its form in the dishwasher is now a nuka cola cap.
Don't be hard on me, I know it's not 100% accurate but I was too lazy to trace, I just drew from a reference pic, and it's not an official design ofc.. I really like it tho. I also used glow in the dark nailpolish and when you put a flashlight right onto it it even glows in a nice radioactive green (for a few seconds) :D
What do you think?
Maybe I'd call it NukaCola Princess and it'd give give you like +5 CHA

Conflict with mom and AuDHD partner

I'm going to give more details but the main question is how to deal with your parent when they can't differentiate between autism symptoms and someone being mean / weird / lazy etc...

I (28F/nb) been with my partner (45M/nb) for a year now. At the beginning my mom (57) seemed to really like him, they got along well but we've only visited twice. The third time was 3 weeks ago.
My mom is aware of mental illnesses as I've had a lot of severe depressive episodes and she is also aware that my partner is mentally ill as well. She even said beforehand that it's okay if he needs more rest Blabla.
But as we were there everything in her kinda shifted. I think the main issue was that my partner wasn't able to give me physical affection (we were at a place with a lot of people) and she red it as him being mean to me.

He was teasing me a bit that day because we had a small "fight" in the morning. I was stressed out by the thought of my mom being stressed out which made him stress out and in the end it was all for nothing because she wasn't even stressed out (yet) and he was the one struggling.
Anyways.
My mom came to me and confronted me about him being dismissive and mean to me and I explained the "fight" to her because I didn't even get she was talking about the affection stuff.
This made me snappy towards him and I kind of ran off (walked faster on the trail) because everything was just so confusing. But me and my partner had a talk and everything was fine.

Back home I explained to my mom that this is not him being mean or dismissive, but that he's just overwhelmed by new places and a lot of people and isn't able to hold my hand or kiss me. I'm used to asking and him saying no and it's fine, I told her that too. She seemed to understand.

WELL apparently she did not because the next day and until the end of our stay (which was just one more night because it was unbearable) she constantly, and I mean literally constantly, passive aggressively mocked him, criticized him, gave me super weird looks when he said something and so on.. it was really tough.
I didn't say anything because I know that would only make it worse for my partner and it kinda developed form a subtle way into something more noticeable.
Right before we left she rolled her eyes and made a weird face on him but without him seeing it and I told her very loudly to stop it.
We left.
And back home I found myself hearing her voice in my head whenever my partner did something "not perfect". I felt ashamed because it even changed my behavior and it really fucked with me because my mom has caused a lot of trauma in my life and I decided to let her back into my life and suddenly she seems like she doesn't know how to behave anymore.
It's also kinda embarrassing.

I couldn't bare the tension and told her that the weekend was very triggering for me and I that need some space.
I really don't know how to resolve this.
My partner doesn't want to get too much emotionally involved because it's really hard for him to deal with conflict (esp conflict he's the main subject of) and I know that I could possibly say stuff about him that could lead to even more uncomfortable situations if she isn't understanding.

I figured I can't be the only one struggling with this so maybe someone can help us.
Thank you!

Highly variegated leaf on ~40yo Hoya

After my grandmas death I took one of her two pots with really old Hoyas, my mom remembers it from her childhood. It wasn't repotted in years and I had to break the pot to even get her out but I'm so happy she's showing new growth. And I wanted to show off this beautiful leaves that seem to be so different from the rest. It's in a separate pot (cuttings from the original plant). I'll also attache the big plant and the first flowers I got since having her! :)

Overnight yellow leaf :(

I got my first alocasia as a mini only 2,5 weeks ago. Everything was fine and I didn't repot it to not stress it out (but I ordered it online from a small shop so it should be fine I guess). This place should be pretty much perfect for it (indirect sun, bright, high humidity in the bathroom, when I open the window it's right behind it so no cold breezes). When I came home yesterday I noticed the soil being very dry and it was pretty hot outside ofc but I wasn't home. So I watered. Today I wake up to this :(

I wanted to lift it out of the pot to check for excess water and accidentally pulled it out of the soil, very small roots but no root damage on first glance (put it back in and there wasn't any excess water).

What happened?

Confronted with "people don't change" and it hurts bad (my mom)

Sooo my mom is basically the root of my mental illness, I'm in therapy for 10 years now and been in and out of psych wards and other facilities the past 6 years. After being abroad for 7 months I cut off all contact in 2020 because I just couldn't deal with all the triggers and everything. Since 2023 we've been more and more in contact with each other and it was actually okay. We don't see each other often anyways due to a longer drive but when I was there I could see she was trying hard and I honestly believed she was generally more relaxed.

Now to the current situation. I've been with my partner for a year now and they met at Christmas and a second time after that. They were getting along pretty well and she even told me repeatedly (and without me asking) that she liked them and would be happy to see us more frequently and so on..
Well. After 2 times of plan changes we finally visited again and planned to stay 2 nights. She was different and "the vibes" were off too. We went somewhere together and my partner can't really do touching when there's a lot going on (neurodivergence and sensory overload) and my mom interpreted it as them being mean to me, which confused me because my partner actually was a bit more distant because we had a little "fight" but I think I wasn't referring to the same things my mom interpreted as bad behavior. ANYWAYS I did explain that to her and she seemed to get it but the day after (which was yesterday) it was even worse. She was constantly passive aggressive and lowkey mocking my partner, being just rude and nagging around and at everything they did.
She was creating a similar environment I grew up in just that my partner was "the victim" and I still don't understand. In the evening when we went to bed I couldn't help but cry.
When we left this morning and she rolled her eyes on something they said (without them seeing her) I very load and clear told her that it's enough now.
My partner is okay but ofc doesn't really want to go there again.

I'm just sad because they really seemed to like each other and also my partner liked to be there in the garden and my moms food ofc but.. something changed and it's not good. I feel ashamed of her inability to "behave" and just be a respectful decent human being. I'm used to her apologizing after a few days but I'm not sure what to do with that either.

I feel soo dumb for actually believing she had changed. I feel awful for giving her a "second chance" and after 3 years she just goes back to default? And I honestly just feel this heavy sadness and grief because I did really enjoy some moments with her the past years and I know she can be that person but I also know she will never fully be that. It's hard. Thank you for reading.
