55inch tv for parents

Hello all!

I am looking for 55 inch tv suggestions from trusted brands.
This will be for my parents who are in hometown (tier-2 city) and I live in another city due to my job.
I want them to have an amazing viewing experience and no hassle.

My budget is 1L, so please give suggestions accordingly. Can stretch it to 10-15k more if the experience increases quite a lot.

Their main usage is channels through set top box or ott viewing(hotstar, Netflix). No gaming etc.

From whatever I read..BRAVIA 2 II -S25M2 seems good.
Xr35m2 is great too.

But please give your best recommendations and suggestions.
Thank you☺️🙏🏼

Initial questions about pregnancy and precautions?

Hello all!
My wife is not on Reddit so here I’m, with our queries.

We are trying to start a family and she missed her period for the first time yesterday. She has never missed her periods before this.
So we need your guidance with a few things:

  1. We are visiting our parents tomorrow onwards and will be in our hometown for 15-20 days.
During these days, how do we confirm that we’re pregnant?

  2. Or is it fine to wait 20 days and do the required tests once we are back to the city where we work?

  3. Assuming that the pregnancy has started, will there be any symptoms she will go through in these 20 days?

  4. If we don’t do any tests for the next 20 days and assuming that we’re pregnant, any precautions to be taken till then?

I know these questions might sound trivial and we would have ideally visited a doc if we were in another city. But all these questions are because we will be travelling home tomorrow and don’t want to disclose anything till the 3rd month, if pregnant.

We also read that early tests with home kits usually give false positives. So we are confused what should our next steps be as first timers.

Looking forward for your suggestions/guidance basis experiences. Thank you🙏🏼❤️

Visa requirements for stopover

Hello everyone!

I have 18 hour layover in Doha and have booked a hotel at discounted rate using the Discover Qatar programme. Not the free stay, as there was earlier flight than the one I booked.

My question is, is Visa required when I’ll be going out to my hotel?
I am an Indian passport holder.
Can anyone please help/guide on how things work from Visa perspective for entry/exit.

Thank you!!

First time flying Q suites

Hello all!
Thanks to everyone here, who helped with a lot of queries we had for the qsuites.

The menu is now open in the app and can be booked.

As it’s our(me and my wife) first time, can the experienced folks please guide us on what must to have or pre-booked.
Just a note, we would like suggestions of dishes other than beef.

Also, any specific drinks/beverages to try out?
Please guide us ☺️

Thank you again!🥂

Last day of our trip, bad experience

Hello all!

Me and my wife had wonderful 8 days in Switzerland, tonight is our last night here.
We are in Bern and we just experienced something terrible. Something I never expected in Switzerland.

Just besides the Hirschengraben bus stop, football match screening was going on. It was Mexico vs RSA as the World Cup is ongoing.

We were just about to enter the area, when the security stopped us. I asked him, we want to have a seat. Have a drink and enjoy the game.
He said the area is full and no further entries. I was ok. I said thank you and just as we were about to walk away, there came another couple(white, around 28-29 in age). The security had a talk with them and allowed them inside. And because he saw me there, he said ok you can go too.
For context, we(me and my wife) are 30yr old and from India.
Mind you, I absolutely love loveeee football. But this guy ruined it for us. I was soooo furious, this was clearly racial discrimination.

This happened just 15-20 mins ago. I’m still fuming. I never expected to experience this here, specially in Switzerland.
We had great 8 days but this end has left a bitter taste for both of us.
Did not know how to complain that time, so just venting it out here.
Sorry for the rant. But this just ended our vacation in bad note.

Shopping suggestions

Hey fellow travellers!

We(me and my wife) have a Europe trip in couple of days.
We are travelling to Switzerland, Paris and Amsterdam.
Can you please give suggestions on what can be bought there, which will be expensive here in India. Or things exclusive to them, which can’t be found here.

Our interests are:
Watches(budget: 2L max), perfumes, shoes(ON maybe? What else?), skincare/cosmetics.

Any suggestion in these will be helpful
Thank you ☺️🙏🏼

Deciding accommodation

Hello folks!

Me and my wife have 2 options to decide from, for our stay:

  1. Pullman Paris Montparnasse, 19 Rue Commandant René Mouchotte 75014.

  2. ibis Paris Bastille Opera 11th, ibis Paris Bastille Opera 11th, 15 rue Breguet 75011.

Our top criteria is

  1. Safety. Even while walking around at night.

  2. Easier commute or direct connections to Eiffel Tower and Disneyland.

I know these are different offerings from hotel perspective. But if you have to pick one basis above 2 criteria’s only, which one do you suggest?

Thank you🥂

Layover options

Hello All!

I have almost 18h layover at Doha airport.
Incoming flight lands at 11:45pm and outgoing flight is next day ~8:30pm.
I made these bookings on two separate booking references so it seems I’m not eligible for the free transit accommodation by Qatar airways.
My questions:

  1. Has anyone faced this same issue? If yes, is there still any way I can ask them to give free accommodation ? How can that be done?

  2. If that is not possible, if I have to step out of the airport do I need to get the visa ? I hold Indian passport. How do I get the visa, if required?

  3. If I have to book a hotel on my own, what are your suggestions?

Looking forward to your recommendations!

Upcoming Europe trip

Hello All!

Will be my first time in Europe. Travelling to Switzerland, Amsterdam, Paris.

My most important query is:

Do I need to always carry passport with me while commuting. I will be staying in a hotel, so keeping it in my room is safe.
But I’ve heard mixed views. Some say you must always have your passport even while travelling within a city.

Can anyone please guide me?

P.S: Any other tips for the given destinations are also welcome🙏🏼❤️

Suggestions for easy commute.

Hello everyone!

Me and my wife will be visiting Paris in first week of June and are really excited about it.

We have booked our stay at:
ibis Paris Bastille Opera 11th, 15 rue Breguet 75011

I have few queries I need help with:

  1. Is this a safe neighbourhood to stay? In general safety and Say if we are walking back at 12am or so.

  2. We prefer easy commute or direct connections mainly to 2 places: Eiffel Tower and Disneyland.

Is it the right area for easy commute to the above two places?

  1. If not, which area do you suggest to live in for easy commute and safety?

We can still cancel that booking as it’s refundable.
Looking forward to your input. Thank you! ☺️

How much should I price this for?

Hi everyone!
Trying to get an idea of how to price one of my artworks and would really appreciate your input.

It's a textured art painting of a flower, done with a focus on depth and soft, aesthetic tones. The piece has a slightly modern/minimal vibe and is meant to work well as home decor.

Size: 30" × 36" (2.5 ft × 3 ft)

I'm not sure how to price it fairly, especially considering texture work takes extra time and materials.

Thanks in advance! 🙏🏼

How much would you pay for this textured canvas painting?

Hi everyone!

I’m looking to turn my passion for painting into something meaningful. Trying to get an idea of how to price one of my artworks and would really appreciate your input.

It’s a textured art painting of a flower, done with a focus on depth and soft, aesthetic tones. The piece has a slightly modern/minimal vibe and is meant to work well as home decor.

Size: 30” × 36” (2.5 ft × 3 ft)

I’m not sure how to price it fairly, especially considering texture work takes extra time and materials.

Would love to know:

• What price range would you expect for something like this?
• Does texture art generally sell for more in your experience?
• Any tips for pricing as an emerging artist?
• Any other tips in general?

Thanks in advance! 🙂

I have an upcoming appointment with VFS in India for Schengen Visa through Switzerland.

I work in one of the Big 4’s and the NOC letter I got is online with signature. My firm said they don’t give out physical copies with wet stamp and signature.

The given NOC mentions everything from leave dates to my designation in the company.

It also mentions that letter is digitally signed and stamp is not required.

Can anyone please confirm if this is fine? Hearing about VFS staffs behaviour has got me thinking. So please can anyone confirm if this should be fine basis their experience??
