SDVOSB & 8(a) - struggling on where to begin

We are based on the west coast and have a solid presence for state and local but are having a hard time branching out in to the federal sector.

We have been an SDVOSB and received our 8(a) last year. We browse sam.gov for contracts and keep our profile and capabilities statement updated. We are on a free trial of highergov and it seems like the right tool for us but we are unsure if it is actually needed.

Is it really just about reaching out to contracting officers for sole source opportunities and vulnerable 8(a) companies to try and subcontract with? I feel like bizdev wise, we are spinning our tires because we are struggling with past performance or going after RFPs/RFQs and are late to the party.

Appreciate any and all help in advance.

Do I need to worry about rot reaching the interior of my home from this ledger?

Have some dry rot on a pergola attached to my home. Do I need to worry about the rot spreading to the hip joist or other parts of the home?

Do I need to worry about dry rot spreading to the rim joist?

This pergola is attached to a home I just purchased. It’s about 20+ years old and has some dry rot. I noticed that this ledger is pretty bad. Do I need to worry about my rim joist? How urgent is the repair on this?

Happy Speedy Tuesday!

Sapphire sandwich was the first Omega I purchased for my wedding. Brings a smile to my face every time I put it on.

Brand new dishwasher - are these black spots mold?

Bought it from Home Depot. The spots are persistent but come off when I wipe them with my hand. Tried cleaning tablets and sanitize cycles but it seems like it’s grime.

I checked the filter and it’s clean. Seals seem fine too. Could it be some grease or oil from the manufacturer?

Brand new dishwasher - black spots on plastic pieces

New dishwasher had some black spots on the plastic pieces. They persisted after several runs and sanitize cycles with dishes in it. I was able to wipe them off with my fingers and a rag and the residue was black.

Is it mold or is it some kind of grease that was added in manufacturing/shipping? Dishes look squeaky clean when pulled out at the end of the wash. No spots on them.

Buying a home - Crack in newly renovated shower tile

Hi r/tile,

Hoping you can help me out. I am in escrow on a new home and we discovered this crack along the base of shower that was recently renovated. How serious is this and will I need to get it replaced or can I patch it somehow?

There is no tub in this shower. Also, apologies for the picture quality, it was included in a .pdf report that I extracted.

Thanks for your help in advance!

A very happy early Mother’s and Father’s Day

Topper Burlingame was great. Picked up a 30mm AT Mother of Pearl for her and a Bond 60th for me.
