45F — Tesamorelin and hand numbness/carpal tunnel symptoms?

I’ve been running Tesamorelin since May 28 (~10.5 weeks), including a period using a Tesa/Ipamorelin blend. My baseline IGF-1 was 189 and increased to 373 after about 7 weeks.

Over the last several weeks I’ve developed increasingly noticeable numbness/tingling in both hands, especially my thumb, index and middle fingers. It started mostly overnight/on waking, but lately I’ve occasionally noticed it during the day too. A nighttime wrist brace definitely helps.

I reduced my dose, but the symptoms persisted, so I’ve decided to stop Tesa and give my GH/IGF-1 axis a break.

For anyone who experienced similar carpal-tunnel-type symptoms from Tesa/GH peptides: how long after stopping did the numbness take to improve or completely disappear?

Increased IGF-1

Looking for some input from people with experience using tesamorelin. I just got my IGF-1 checked after about 7 weeks of starting. My baseline IGF-1 was 189 ng/mL (normal range 74–239), and it’s now 373 ng/mL. I’ve had some mild nighttime hand numbness (improving with a wrist brace), but otherwise I’ve tolerated it well and have been happy with the body composition changes.

My cycle has been:
1 mg tesamorelin nightly for a few weeks
2 mg nightly for a few weeks
Currently on a 0.6 mg tesamorelin + 200 mcg ipamorelin blend

I have about 5 weeks left to complete a planned 12-week cycle. If you were in my shoes, would you:
Finish the cycle as planned?
Drop back to 1 mg nightly?
Stop early because of the IGF-1?

Interested in hearing from people who have actually monitored their IGF-1 while running tesamorelin. Thanks!

Body Fat: 33.6% → 26.1% While Losing Only 1.2 lbs (DEXA Comparison)

45F

March 31, 2026 ➡️ June 22, 2026
Body fat: 33.6% ➡️ 26.1%
Weight: 136.7 lbs ➡️ 135.5 lbs
Visceral fat: 1.13 lbs ➡️ 0.62 lbs

For context, I started my weight-loss journey in February 2025 at 169 lbs and 41% body fat. I initially used semaglutide and later tirzepatide. Around the time of my March DEXA, I began transitioning to retatrutide and am currently taking 6 mg/week split into two doses.

Over the past year I’ve also completely changed my lifestyle. I’ve been strength training 3x/week, taking spin classes, hiking, doing weighted-vest walks, prioritizing protein, and focusing on building muscle while losing fat.
What I find most interesting is that the scale only moved from 136.7 lbs to 135.5 lbs between these two DEXA scans, yet body fat dropped from 33.6% to 26.1% and visceral fat was cut nearly in half.

For anyone feeling discouraged by a stubborn scale, body composition can tell a very different story. The biggest changes I’ve seen over the last few months have been in strength, fitness, and how I look and feel—not necessarily the number on the scale.
