If you had to narrow down your collection to just 10 titles, which ones would you pick?
What are the 10 shows/movies you absolutely must have and why? It can be something you already have, want to get or wish was available.

Does anyone know if the points acquired from purchases ever expire? Or do i, for example, have to make a purchase per year to keep my account active and thus keep my points? I know you get a point per every dollar spent but that’s all I know. The shipping and duties for Canadians can be steep so I’m sure a lot of us cant do frequent orders. So I was just wondering what the policies were like and if I was missing something.
Thanks in advance!
When I watched it the first two times, I thought it was one of the best animes out there. But after rewatching, I felt like there were some definite flaws. It may just be that it's a product of its time, idk.
Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed rewatching it and there are still many aspects I enjoyed. I still enjoyed the relationships between the characters, the school events (although I know this point is debated), the geopolitical themes, the warfare and specifically the dichotomy and complex relationship between Suzaku and Lelouch and how they choose to seek penance with zero requiem. The ending is still amazing and Euphy and Shirley's deaths are still impactful and emotional. I can appreciate R1 but had some issues with R2.
The sword of Akasha, the Ragnarok Connection and the Geass order were not fleshed out properly. Don't know if it was just me but I also found it a little confusing. I understood that Lelouch's parents essentially wanted to become a mindless husk where everyone's consciousness joined as one (whether you were alive or dead) and that time would stop and nothing would change but the whole concept kind of came out of left field. I felt like it kind of took away from the other conflicts/ themes of the show. I would have also liked that they explain the relationships/background of between C.C, V.V, Marianne and Charles more. I still think the show could have benefitted from another season to expand on certain things.
The Chinese arc also felt weirdly placed and rushed.
So many plotholes like how Guilford survived but I'm not complaining. I actually liked that Cornelia still had someone at least. I'm sure there are other examples but I can't think of any at the moment.
The fanservice is crazy lol. I guess I was so immersed in the story that I never really noticed it haha
Euphy's death plays a huge part in the plot but for a guy who is so calculating, intelligent, and plans out every little detail, I really have a hard time seeing Lelouch using those specific words. Even if he wasn't aware that losing control of his geass was a possibility, it seems a little forced.
I would have liked it if they explored the other countries. They touched on the E.U. but aren't they one of the big superpowers as well? Also doesn't Rakshata mention some guy from India? They never mention him again.
I also would have enjoyed some more background into the Knights of the Round. We got a better look at Gino, Anya, the Knight of One and Bradley but there were a bunch of others who barely got any screentime.
I also thought Lelouch's strategic use of the surrounding environment was repetitive and his directions to move the Black Knights to certain positions like Chess pieces was a little much at times. Some battles were also drawn out, imo.
Anyway, after rewatching I realized that the show has a lot of flaws and is kind of messy. But if you enjoy it for what it is, it has great highs and great story overall though.
Curious to hear your thoughts, did your opinions of the show change upon rewatching? What do you feel the writers did a great job with and what could have been better?
I don’t remember there being so many mistakes in the GameCube version. In the ps4 version, there were also several scenes where the speech bubble would be one character speaking but the voiceover is actually another character lol
Prime days have gotten worse over time and I was pretty disappointed with how this one turned out. I just wanted to see how Crunchyroll summer sales were. I’ve heard mixed things from other posts. Some people have said their sales have also gotten worse over time as well. They are also selling fewer and fewer physical discs. Today I saw that they have under 800 products.
Most of the stuff I want to get can be purchased locally except for Aniplex titles, of course. I know those rarely go on sale. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to buy one of them during Ani-May because it was out of stock. So I was wondering whether it would be worth waiting for August. Thanks!
I know this has been posted in this sub before but I’m a little confused as I don’t know much about this stuff. I’ve been using the converter shown in the third picture for a while. But now I find it a little too blurry for my eyes. In addition, the screen kept turning darker during play so im not sure if it’s dying on me.
I don’t want to mod our family GameCube, just looking to buy something additional to connect it via an hdmi cable. Im looking for an affordable option. The adapter also allowed me to use our Wii as well so if there is an adapter that will function for both GameCube and Wii and you know of it, I’d really appreciate the info. Thanks in advance!
Sorry for the blurry images.
I know the top two were from 2016 that were split into part 1 and part 2 and contain both dvds and blu rays. I think it has the funimation redub and an older dub.
The bottom right set is from 2021 with the funimation redub and two older dubs. Im not sure which set has the ocean dub. That was the version I grew up with. Based on the back cover theres an additional dubbed on the 2021 set.
I have also heard people saying different things about which set contains what. Some people have said the first disc of the set from 2021 has only the new dub and the second disc has the old dub. The rest of the discs have the option for both.
Im trying to figure out which one to buy and I am a little confused. If anyone can tell me the differences, I’d appreciate it. Thanks!
A little late to the party but I just finished watching the documentary. Felt like I went through a rollercoaster of emotions.
Starting listening to a few of her songs in the early 2010s but only became a big fan at the end of 2010s. All that to say that I didn’t know a lot about her story (pun unintended). It’s so easy to look at someone who’s successful and forget the journey they took to get to that point. And oh my lord, was she put through the wringer.
There were so many instances when I just had a lump in my throat or had tears in my eyes ( the way the media spoke about her when she was younger, the intrusive questions they would ask and still continue to ask to this day, her cancer journey and how public it was, the heartbreak she expressed about not having children, the letters that she received that helped her through dark times, how hard she worked to start touring again after her treatment, how she finally got to perform at Glastonbury and the love she received from the fans). I couldn’t stop smiling when she performed all the lovers, bringing it all full circle. I heard about her second diagnosis from some of the posts before watching the doc and was in complete shock. Just goes to show you really never know what someone is going through.
I loved the documentary. It was just so human, intimate and vulnerable. Her resilience was really something.
And I feel like in a lot ways the documentary showed that a lot of us have similar issues. Obviously, we aren’t celebrities and aren’t scrutinized publicly but we all have self doubts, trying to find who we are, experience grief, fight through health challenges etc. Im happy she let us get a glimpse of what her journey has been like. It was such a treat.
Considering getting tales of xillia but wanted to hear everyones thoughts
Games I’ve played before.
Tales of Phantasia: the first tales game I got as a kid along with symphonia, story is simple and but I loved the idea of travelling through time. Enjoyed the simple game mechanics and the cast of characters. It’s dated for sure but it was a game I enjoyed
Tales of symphonia: my favourite tales, my favourite cast of characters, liked the exsphere system and top notch story
Tales of vesperia: gameplay was awesome, better than symphonia imo, liked some of the cast, couldnt care for the rest of the characters, story became a little convoluted especially towards the end. Wished they delved more into the idea of vigilantism vs following the law. Only played the game once so maybe there are aspects that I am forgetting/not remembering correctly
Tales of symphonia 2: enjoyed the idea of monster catching and including them in your team, liked seeing the old cast although the new voice actors were hard to get used to, i dont remember much of the story, i dont think it was as good as the first one but I don’t think it was as bad as people made it out to be
Tales of zestiria: i dont think I even completed a third of the game, I got kind of bored
Tales of berseria: story was great, definitely darker tone compared to older games, velvet was a total badass, loved her interactions with laphicet, didnt care for much the rest of the cast, dungeons and levels felt pretty repetitive after a while
Tales of graces- loved the cast and the gameplay is probably my favourite out of all the ones I’ve played, I enjoyed the story as well. I know people arent fans of the whole friendship/family is power but I really enjoyed it
Tales of arise- gameplay was awesome, battles were so fun, loved the cast too but the story kind of fell off during the second half of the game, wasn’t impressed with the big bad villain either. Felt like the movie/dialogue with the helganquil took forever lol it was disappointing end but fun nonetheless
So you can probably see that I have a preference for the older games. I’m excited for eternia, still holding out hope for abyss since people speak so highly of it. Im just wondering if I’d enjoy xillia. I’d heard mixed opinions.would love to hear what everyone thinks. Thanks in advance!
I always make sure to buy items specifically sold by them on their websites but lately I’ve been getting cases that have cracks, some disks that are slightly chipped, cracked on the edges or have smudges. Ive never had any issues with them before.
I think a lot of us resort to Amazon because of their discounts and as we all know, this hobby can get expensive really quickly. Unfortunately, there aren’t many stores that sell physical media anymore and the ones that do are more expensive than the regular posted price. Honestly sucks sometimes
So I know it’s missing the slipcover. It looks legit but I don’t know if the lettering on the spine is accurate. Isnt it supposed to say fruits basket season 2 part 1 instead of just fruits basket?
And for the seasons that were split in two, did they ever come out as just blu rays instead of the blu ray dvd combo pack? Please help
I am look for recommendations for books that examine foundational movement patterns. In terms of prescribing exercises, obviously it depends on the client/patients goals, injuries and it’s vital to target the major muscle groups to prevent imbalances. But I’m guessing students/kinesiologists dont remember the hundreds of exercises available to prescribe. Rather it’s about grouping exercises into the 6-7 fundamental movement categories and adapting them, right? Does anybody have any suggestions as to where I could get more information on the movement patterns and exercise prescription? Thank you in advance!
So I have seen people recommend using regular sake instead of cooking sake because of the additives so I bought affordable sake located near me. I am not sure how to store it once I open it though. I am guessing I should put it in the fridge once I open it. But how long can I keep it in there?
I am the only one in my household who will use it and I don’t eat a lot. I want to make sure I finish the bottle so if you have any recipe suggestions as well, I would love to hear them please. I was planning to make oyakodon and karaage. Thank you in advance!
Made me laugh a little harder than it should have
Following up on a previous post i made, I looked into region b blu rays and they are indeed cheaper than region a blu rays. But when I factor in shipping and other import fees, it doesn’t seem to be all that cheaper. Im sure its useful if you can’t find any region a copies online, if they never made North American copies in the first place or if you plan to build an extensive collection, or if their prices are outrageous.
BTW my collection will not be extensive ( 30-50 titles, most of which are available in North America, some will be from Discotek, a few are hard to find or crazy expensive ex: haikyu, Cardcaptors Sakura, fruits basket, FMAB)
I feel like the price gap between the two regions narrows once you take all the fees into account. Not to mention having to buy the region free player as well which I haven’t done yet. Wondering what your thoughts were. Thanks in advance.

So I collected some dvds back in the day and wanted to start again especially with series sometimes being removed from streaming services.
I got the first part of fruits basket and tried to look for the other parts but they’re extremely hard to find. There were a few local stores that are asking their distributors if they have any left which Im told may take weeks but I get the feeling the chances are pretty slim. Im not sure if it’s worth holding out until Crunchyroll produces sets (if they ever decide to, despite fruits basket being a popular series).
Ive noticed that for a lot of series, the region B blu rays are more readily available (like Cardcaptor Sakura) So my question is does it really matter in the end what region version you buy? I know some people only buy blu rays available from their own region even if it costs them an arm and a leg lol. Wanted to know your thoughts on why that is as well. Thanks in advance!
