In your opinion, what makes a good grid-based strategy game, and do you have any examples?

So I'm thinking of trying to make a grid-based strategy game (think fire emblem) but the only game I can really find/think of that has a pc port is, strangely, South Park: the fractured but whole. Would you say that game is a good example? And are there any other games in your opinion that are good?

Something about the acting and plot developments in elementary bothers me and i can’t put my finger on it, anyone else?

Mind you, i like the show fine. But there are moments where developments feel out of nowhere or cliche even though i can’t really prove it, and the acting just doesn’t feel natural even though i cant really point to how. Does anyone else find this? Because it just keeps bothering me whenever i watch it.

Friend keeps crashing when they load minecraft into our modded game with essential

They are able to load into the game fine, but they seem to crash after a few seconds-a few minutes in the game. Our current guess is it's related to the amount of RAM the game uses, and they use a laptop, but it's weird because it doesn't tend to freeze or lag, it just does the network lag thing where they can't interact with anything. the error it gives is "unknown error"

So for mods, we use:

Ars nouveau
ars Elemental
Appleskin
Comforts
Corpse
Quark
Enchantment descriptions
JER
Mouse tweaks
Prefab
Sofisticated backpacks
Xaero's minimap
Nether portal fix

Is there any known incompatibilities between these mods/are any of them heavier on the ram than they seem?

What exactly is Gojo's infinity?

So I'm sure this was fully explained at some point, but there's something that's bugging me: If I'm understanding his ability correctly, pulling things is the non reversed ability of Gojo's infinity, which is what blue is. But then in the Jogo fight, Gojo explains that inifnity is slowing down whatever comes to him infinitely. Which would surely be a pushing force, which is his reverse technique red.

But in hidden inventory Gojo can't use red. So, why is he able to use infinity?

Am I just colossally misunderstanding the ability? what is the situation with that as far as that goes?

Anyone else used to watch a Japanese YouTube channel who played some kinda ultraman game?

So I realise this is going to sound vague but I've just randomly thought of it and want to try and find it. I watched this what must have been 17 years ago now, and this is all I remember:

  • The game had ultimates(or something) where in order to block them you had to put the same input as the user in order to block it.
  • There was one battle where one guy played as I think a blue ultraman and used it where there was blue stuff coming out of his chest in a kind of circle around the ultra man. The other guy tried to block it but couldn't.
  • At one point someone plays ultra man dyna and says "yokora dynamiku" after doing some sort of throwing thing.

Again, I realise none of this is especially helpful but I thought I'd ask here just in case.

I really think iosef's actor deserves more credit.

Like I genuinely don't think the film would have worked if he wasn't believable as the spoilt, horrendous brat he played

What caused the popularity of tricolours?

Its interesting to me that so many countries have some variation of 3 colours in a line. Is it just because it’s simple? I imagine each flag means something different to their country, but its an interesting theme.

Did hitler become a martyr? If not, why?

I often hear people talk about how killing certain leaders would not be of use as it would simply martyr them, and I don't disagree necessarily, but it is interesting to me that at least so far as I'm aware, this didn't happen with hitler. Is it because he killed himself, or something else?

What's an anime known for being well structured?

So a friend of mine is studying story structure, and wants to try an anime as part of it. Trouble is I don't pay attention to that sort of thing. Do you guys know of anime that are structured well or interestingly?

[loved trope] character basically tells their intentions to their victim without actually telling them

Both examples are songs but not necessary.

Soda pop, kpop demon hunters. The entire song is basically the saja boys singing about eating the listener's souls but subtextually.

Friends on the other side, princess and the frog: when Dr facilier talks about "green" we assume he's talking about money but really he's talking about turning the prince into a frog.

You guys are going about this the wrong way!

See, you’re decimating them from a far when you should be getting closer! Put your head directly under their mouths, there’s neigh- i mean, no risk that way :)

to be top tier, you need a couple screws loose.

Chainsaw man: a quote from the series kinda sums it up: "The kind of hunters that devils fear most are ones with a couple screws loose." it's also pretty well shown in the eternity devil arc (artist credit: https://wallpapercave.com/chainsaw-man-computer-wallpapers)

Frieren: it's more kind of in the background so this may just be my headcannon, but it seems to me that to be a tier one mage you need to be at least a little mental, which sort of makes sense because visualisation is important in magic in the Frieren universe, so arguably the further from reality you can get the more you can do. The most obvious example of this is Ubel but also Denken walked into a room with possibly one of the strongest characters in the verse and started considering how he'd fight her. (if you think im wrong feel free to say)

What's happening to Portillo's great continental railway journeys?

I was watching the series on U TV and it just seems to be disappearing season by season. Is there any chance of the episodes coming back?

What are employers in Japan like with Japanese passports but haven't lived in Japan for a while?

So, I have dual nationality (coming up on the deadline to give up one of my passports) and am considering whether to move back to Japan. Problem is I've been outside of Japan for quite a while now, and I'm not sure how that looks to employers. (Language is also a slight issue but I am studying that to bring it back up to acceptable levels). Where I am it is a sticking point for a few companies (mainly government) that you haven't resided anywhere else in the past 5 years.

[Loved trope] It's the character talking, but also the actor.

almost all the doctors in dr. who do this to some extent when they regenerate. But just in case that's not enough for the 2+ rule, I'm including my two favourite instances:

picture 1: Matt Smith: "I won't forget one line of this. not one day. I will always remember when the doctor was me."

picture 2: Christopher Eccleston: "Rose, before I go I just want to say you were fantastic. And you know what? So was I!"
