Confining paid Brave search to the Brave Browser is stupid

I would like to use the search I'm paying for in ANY browser and not just Brave. Granted, I use Brave 90 percent of the time but there's still that 10 percent of surf time where I'm using another browser...

Heat wave tip

A useful trick during a heat wave is to fill an empty 1 liter soda bottle with water, freeze it.... And then use it to pummel anyone irritating you.

Not worth the effort, too much work for minimal return, can't fight the system

When you spend more time "curating" your feed than you do actually reading your feed, something is horribly wrong. And curating is what you end up doing most of the time on Facebook.... Hiding ads, hiding posts you have no interest in, only to face the same onslaught of junk the next time you look.

Cooling an old house in summer

My 2 story brick house was built in 1910. There is no central air or mini split. In summer I have always used window AC units to keep things cool, which keeps the electric bill high. This year I resolved to run the AC as little as possible, at least downstairs. Now that it's warming up outside, I keep most windows closed during the day, except for two on each floor. I put large fans in the ones on the cool side of the house to bring air in, and in the windows on the opposite side to suck air out. I closed off rooms seldom used. This gives me a great air flow and even when it's 78 downstairs it doesn't feel like it. Upstairs gets pretty warm during the day but I'm never up there unless going to bed. At night I set all fans to bring in the cool outside air. I'll probably end up running a unit in my bedroom at some point when summer is at its hottest but for now my setup seems to be working.

Facebook algorithm continues to suck, and some random junk to make this 68 characters

Facebook is showing me posts from people I have absolutely no connection to, talking about things I have absolutely no interest in. 🙄

No unified inbox?

Come on - this is standard with just about every email app. Then again, the "app" is just a wrapper around the webmail interface.... so they should at least fix it there, or give us a bona-fide email application.

Outgoing email footer

I've had a footer on the bottom of all outgoing invoice emails for literally years, and cannot for the life of me remember how to edit or remove it. The footer is NOT in the template setup. WTF?

In this day and age a business page is absolutely useless. Why bother?

Between arbitrary account bans, ever diminishing views of page posts (unless you boost them), and management tools that are clumsy and just plain stupid, is running a business page worth the hassle anymore? Why not go back to Google ads pointing to your website, and an Amazon or eBay storefront?

I had Comcast Business at my office. I noticed a significant decrease in download speed and called support. They immediately blamed my third-party modem, which I knew was compatible with the service. It had worked just fine for two years. When I laughed at their blame-casting they informed me that if they came to troubleshoot outside and didn't find anything, the service call would cost me $99 because I wasn't using their equipment. I was pretty certain they would find something but their entire tone of voice was condescending and smug. I told them to forget about it, hung up and then ordered fixed wireless internet from a competitor. 4 days later I was able to call Comcast and tell them to shove it.
