Cabo Verde genuinely made Argentina work for it. They took their chances, stayed in the game every time Argentina looked ready to pull away, and pushed the defending champions into extra time. A couple of moments go their way and we're probably talking about penalties instead. Argentina had the quality to get over the line, but Cabo Verde never looked out of place. One of those performances where the losing side walks away with a lot more respect than before kick-off.

I've never really followed football before. Before this World Cup, the only full match I'd ever watched was the 2022 final (plus a few highlights). But now I'm watching almost every FIFA World Cup 2026 match I can, and I'm genuinely enjoying it.

I want this to turn into actually becoming a football fan, not just a World Cup fan. Once the tournament ends, what should I follow next? Which leagues, clubs, or competitions should I start with to keep the momentum going?
