Ethical Journalists And Modern Feminists Are Having A Meltdown Over A Game

Ethical Journalists And Modern Feminists Are Having A Meltdown Over A Game

Oh how the turns tables...

Haven’t seen much discussion about Gacha games in this community so wanted to fill you guys in on an incredibly funny situation currently occurring.

There is an Otome(For women) game called LoveAndDeepspace(LADS) that has been doing very well for a while now, haning around the big ones such as Genshin. The game is deidicated purely to female players and this has NOT been a problem, that the developers know their audience and cater to them. You will see even in other communities of female gamers, that they have been lavishing praise on this game, all while complaining about male gamers being gooners. It’s basically like musical lyics and books for women being utterly crass and frankly disturbing even at times, but dare a male musician or author write something even hinted at that the ideology doesn’t like, the world is ending.

Well guess what, the world is ending for the western fans of this game. Why? Well let’s take a step back and highlight that the Gacha game industry is mostly made up of Chinese companies. The developers of LADS, Infold games, is a Chinese company and part of the know your audience and cater to your audience sound logic of good business, is that they have a very tight relationship with the Chinese female audience in particular, naturally. A while back they announced a new love interest for the game, a character named Valko. People were mostly meh about him in particular as they were more frustrated by other issues around the game, such as developers not making changes to resources that had been requested and other quality of life things.

This has all now blown up though because the Chinese female gamers began to say that this character was designed for the western audience, he looked gay, etc. This simmered for a while and the devs just kept their heads down, promoting the character. Chinese fans did not like this and felt they were being ignored for the western audience, which makes up a much smaller portion on income for the game. So you know what they did? They began going to the media and anyone who would listen, they dug through the game, THE GAME THEY’D BEEN PLAYING FOR YEARS MIND YOU, and began pointing out that “Such and such scene is dangerous, harmful” and my favourite, “Being fictional does mean laws should be broken” bwahahaha. They also found a string of numbers “731” and then began reporting it to the freaking GOVERNMENT as well. For those not in the know, unit 731 was a brutal Japanese group in WW2 that used Chinese to experiment on and torture. The CCP naturally said “WTF?” and along with the accusations of harm, laws being broken(in a game) and now this, pressure on infold mounted.

Now we get to the present. Infold has CANCELLED THE CHRACTER ENTIRELY and issued a giant ass apology to the audience(You can read the full thing here):

https://x.com/Love_Deepspace/status/2071927369653485756

Groveling and apologizing for everything. But it’s still not over yet as the post has on X alone reached 24 million views and on bilibili and other prominent Chinese social media, even greater views. The Chinese fans are for the most part happy, but they have other demands now as well, including:

-No more western looking characters ever again

-Repudiation of the western fans who like to fictionalize the men as being in male-male relationships

-Repudiation of COSPLAYERS who are not straight

-A formal apology for the string of numbers, 731 being in the game(lmaooooo)

-The game shall be for WOMEN and WOMEN only

-And much more

As you can imagine, the western fans are upset by this and are now calling the Chinese player base “Not allies”, “fascist”, “homophobes”, etc. You know, the usual.

I however am laughing my ass off because this whole situation, from digging up every little thing and blowing it up, going to the media, writing essays, making claims of how harmful and dangerous it is, to even going to the freaking government is EXACTLY how outlets such as feminist frequency and “ethical game journalists” and tons of “women gamers” went on about the games and media over here. I STILL remember the song “Baby it’s cold outside” being lambasted as some rapist song, booth babes being removed from E3 and some sporting events such as F1. This is just putting aside all the massive damage and negative changes done to general entertainment in the western world.

Now they are getting a taste of their own medicine and that unfortunately for them, the world doesn’t revolve around them. The comments in western gaming subs for women has been pure comedy. It’s literally the things we’ve been arguing for years, “If they don’t like the character, they can just not use him”, “They’re taking little things and blowing them up”, “What kind of crazy people go to the media or government because they don’t like something in a fictional work?”, “these people are unwell”, “What does this have to do with women’s safety? IT’S A GAME!” etc.

Anyhow, just wanted to share this with you guys if you haven’t heard about it. This is a game that is near Genshin levels of money making on a monthly basis and they basically told the western female gamers to fuck off.

How Long Did It Take You? What Was The Cost?

Hi all,

Been dreaming of getting a model Y for years now for many reasons.

Life has been brutal the past decade or so though so haven't had the money or even peace to think much of it anymore. I was looking at used models in the 30K CAD range, but even those are a bit much for me right now, especially after career loss and trying to start again. So can only still dream for now as it's not a responsible financial decision.

For those of you who dreamt of your Y's and finally got them, how long did it take? What were the challenges? Have you paid it off yet or is it not a big burden on you financially?

Theory: Zenless Zone Zero Is Just A Game

So believe it or not, I never watched the original trailer for this game: Where The Miracle Began. However I did watch the 2.7 trailer where Youkai was pretending to be Fairy and with the aim of seizing Roscalifier being discussed.

So imagine my surprise when I stumbled across the first trailer and it seems the community has not put 1+1 together yet.

We start off with a warning about accessing the files and we have:

Ghost: Accessing the data
Youkai: Corrupting data/making changes
Fairy: Searching
Jinie: Uploading data

Now what Jinie is doing stood out to me right away because the way they're discussing Eridu/New Eridu in the begining and throughout their gaining access of whatever device/platform, it's almost like they're talking about events that have already happened, especially with the following text:

"Here lies Phaeton, Who in the Sun-gods chariot fared. And thought greatly he failed, more greatly he dared". <---This might at first sound like they're talking about the actual real world story of Phaethon, but I don't believe it is. Because you will recall that when Fairy first made contact with us in game, she mentioned the contract, but would not reveal the details of it and stated will save it for the "right" time. I don't think it's a coincidence that Phaethon is the name the proxies used, it's too on the nose.

As the trailer goes on, we hear the AI's talking about the void hunters and their acheivements, with one of them wondering how their descendants are doing. But this is a very weird question for such powerful AI's to be pondering, because they have the ability to access pretty much anything they want. And here comes the core idea I have.

All the AI's are breaking into NEW ERIDU as it IS ZENLESS ZONE ZERO. Whatever happened in the past caused some great calamity and was likely related to trying to seize/control some immense power(etherium or whatever), and maybe it was in use briefly, before getting out of control and completely warping the reality of the world beyond the world itself as we see hollows even on the moon. PHAETHON was likely an individual in the past or perhaps an institute that had lead the charge on this.

The ZZZ that we're currently playing, is likely a zone that displaced from reality or consumed by an immense hollow and the old civilization had some means to "digitize" it or chain it off in a sense.

It is very suspcious that the trailers always end with something akin to "And we will make New Eridu...", apart from the great again jokes, I think it's actually two things:

  1. And we will make New Eridu...Where the miracle began(As in beginning to fix the hollow disasters)
  2. And We will make New Eridu...Zenless Zone Zero(As in whatever power the people of this reality had tried to obtain/use, being rendered inert/stabilized somehow)

But regardless of the answer, this would only be possible if the AI's are coming in from somewhere outside, with more knowledge/tools to do so. I believe that there are three things going on here possibly:

  1. They are coming from a different point in time, far past or far future
  2. ZZZ is just a recreation of what once was(This fits Hoyo's theme of "bro it was all fake people in a fake world" that they've done with their other games already. Except this time we are the ones trapped/living a "fake" life.
  3. There is another civilization/city in the ZZZ world and they for some reason are trying to gain access to New Eridu(least likely)

It makes no sense for Jinie to be uploading stuff if the ZZZ world we know is a real, tangible place. Yes it can be argued, "it's uploading some data into a server/place in New Eridu they'll need later", but if the AI's are from the ZZZ reality/time, why would they need to to it all in one go, when they could just do it whenever with ease? It sounds like they were limited in time during the trailer, which is very suspicious.

In short: I think ZZZ is completely fictional and the reality we're playing, is actually just a RECREATION of Eridu/New Eridu with the AI's belong to the far future/far past, and trying to learn what happened and perhaps even undo it.

What Is With the "CONSOOM" Culture From Those That Should Oppose It According To Their Ideology?

Stumbled across a video about some themed restaraunt about an 80's IP that has opened up, and they're selling food mostly, but also selling "merch". And so much of the merch is just funkopop like literal garbage, plastic ornaments/collectible plastic cups, etc.

It dawned on me that a lot of the consoom culture nuts are the very same ones crying about capitalism being evil, climate change, etc. But they just love collecting an absolute GLUT of useless trash and feeding from corporate slop that's pushed out. It would be one thing if the items were at least quality, but they're often not and just pushed out for promos or whatever, with these clowns going insane over them, only to move on to the next thing.

The insane amount of money and junk generated by these people is insane. I remember some of these crazies going on about seeing some modern audience movie that bombed, many times in theatres just to "support the movie" even. And they complain about paying back student loans and want "free stuff under communism".

Nah, this ain't it. It's no wonder pollution has gone the way of the dodo and climate change is all that's ever talked about these days. Horrendous behaviour.

Are We Really Getting Remeille AND Sunbringer In The Same Season?

It seems very strange that were getting Remy soon and ALSO Sunbringer? That's two void hunters, in the same season. Doesn't that seem like overkill in terms of power creep/hype characters to you guys?

u/techtimee — 19 days ago

What Is A Fundamental Aspect Of Gacha Games You've Learned And Made Peace With?

Mine is to pull for characters I like and not meta. Power creep is inevitable and it's the literal job of the devs to make you want to pull for new characters. So now I don't worry about clearing all end game modes and so forth, just enjoy the ride.

Has The In Game Maintenance Notification Always Been There?

Just noticed this while playing today. Pretty cool if it's a new thing.

Why is it updating on a Sunday anyway? I thought it's Tuesday's in NA?

Genocide Is Bad

Anyone else noticing how creepily this term is being used in media by the "ethical, loving, compassionate" crowd?

I read this manga called Kagurabachi and a core problem in the series is about the back and forth slaughter of two groups of peoples, with one of them being pretty much wiped out at one point. The story is exploring this and explaining how it all got to that point. But every damn "art" or media in the community is about how "genocide is bad" or people saying, "bla bla bla, BUT I DO NOT CONDONE GENOCIDE". It's so fucking WEIRD and unnatural. It's like a lot of words the ideology just mangles and bleats to death.

There seems to be this idea that like *insert buzz words here*, the ideology is the only one that thinks genocide is bad, and they will go to great lengths to wax morally about it, as if others support it or think it's a good.

I don't know how many of you are Canadian, but there was a recent story here about how our national broadcaster, funded by the government, tried to entrap an outspoken professor who has asked for evidence of the residential school genocide, for which she has been hounded, arrested for speaking on campus for violating "safety", and some politicians of the ideology even calling for people like her to be gagged or imprisoned for "denialism". They have done and said all these things to her, but have provided ZERO evidence for the claims and accusations they hurl, hence why they are desperately trying the "denialism" angle to silence people with the fear of imprisonment. But I digress.

The state funded media has been working to lie to people about who they really are and their partners in this, get them to do interviews, etc, then spring on piles of children's shoes for example, and ask them "So you're okay with this?" and other ludicrous things, ALL WITH TAX PAYER MONEY. Some of the people interviewed or invited for interviews felt it was suspicious and after some digging, discovered that it was all tied to the state media. This is insane and while it got attention, naturally since Canada has state media at the top, it has quickly been shoved aside and the state media of course did not cover their own utterly unethical and malicious deeds.

In short, the ideology always goes on about terms such as this, always extreme things, and uses them as jumping pads to claim that they and only they have morals(While decrying morality and saying it's subjective), but it's an utterly hollow and bad cult like behaviour, because they DON'T actually have the morals they claim; only use words like spells and distractions to go after what they really want. The same people dancing on peoples graves, seeking to take away their freedoms or rights, claiming "science", bullying and harrasing individuals, hijacking peoples creative works, translating things to suit their ideology, etc are the very ones saying they're the "good guys".

It's all just one grand fake performance of taking obvious things and going "This is bad" as if nobody else has ever thought it. Just a constant reinventing of the wheel from laws, policies, discourse to make themselves seem like they're doing something "new" or have some special understanding of things. But all capped with violence and pure malice.

Domainagents haven't responded and seller has put money in escrow

First time ever dealing with this and don't know how to proceed.

Received a notification from domainagents this morning for a domain I have and accidently entered in one less zero. Reached out to them right away as I saw I could not adjust up in their website, only down. No response. Sent an email, sent a message on X, still nothing.

Buyer responded this evening now and has put funds in the escrow account and wants to proceed with the wrong entered amount.

What do I do? A part of me didn't even want to sell the domain as it's a very professional and sought after one, but could use the money so started the process.

SLEEPING DOG. What in the **** was that?

I watched Sleeping Dog.

What in **** was that?

At first I thought it was going to just be a documentary about some “Wow, never been seen things!”, but the intro quickly made it apparent that it was a documentary about Jeremy himself. Fine. Whatever. Still curious enough. But…this is what I learned:

1)      Jeremy dealt with some difficulties growing up due to physical/mental challenges and that led him down the path he’s on. Okay, didn’t know that, was nice.

2)      Jeremy drives a cybertruck.

3)      There is some big secret or revelation(Pregnant pause)

4)      John Lear has been castigated for years over things he’s said being “out there”. This was already known, but it was a nice touch to show their moments together, even when things sometimes got heated.

5)      There is some big secret or revelation(Pregnant pause)

6)      Bob Lazar said the same things he’s said before, so we believe him.

7)      Jeremy drives a cybertruck.

8)      We hear/see about Jeremy’s first interactions with a lot of the known names.

9)      There is some big secret or revelation(Pregnant pause)

10)   There is some big secret or revelation and Jeremy might get killed over it(Pregnant pause)

11)  Jeremy drives a cybertruck

12)  We’re burying USB drives in the desert(An allusion to his handwork for homes/properties he repairs) and showing a CAMERA RECORDING OF A “UAP” ON A MONITOR INSTEAD OF INSERTED IN THE DOCUMENTARY.

13)  Jeremy drives a cybertruck

14)  There is some big secret or revelation and Jeremy might get killed over it(Pregnant pause)

15)  Jeremy’s lawyer says that he should continue doing what he’s doing because his methodology works. What is he doing? Being vague AF and holding onto earth shattering revelations that juuuuuuust like those in the actual know, he also now knows apparently, but cannot even ALLUDE to, let alone say something like “The aliens come the moon”.

I legitimately don’t understand how some people were raving about this. Did I miss something in this? Bro assassinated his own character.

When Did You Realize You Were Logging In For The Last Time, Or Felt It Was Coming?

https://preview.redd.it/ecu8oa01gzzg1.png?width=1096&format=png&auto=webp&s=54171bdf433fab3ac5556eab7c84e79377085ae3

I've been playing gacha games now for about 4 years as I found most western games recently to be boring AF or just cringe. So when I got back into gaming and stumbled across HSR, it really reminded me of old school Final Fantasy so I jumped in and have been having a blast.

But...I haven't pulled for anyone since December. I find a lot of the new characters just "meh" at best and to not have much staying power. I have about 40000 stellar jades plus a bunch of actual warp tickets as such. My routine is basically, log in, do my dailies and or any events, complete my weeklies and log off. The story is what's kept me going, but the new world is so-so right now and I'm really starting to dislike how they drag some revelations or things out.

I also play ZenlessZoneZero and while I have a good amount of pulls there, the new character Promeia seemed stylish enough and I pulled for her despite already have Miyabi, the strongest "ice" DPS. The story seems a bit more attention holding for me right now than HSR, but again, they're doing the "slowly drag things out" with things and being vague AF, but I have a lot of interest in upcoming characters, so it's a positive in my book.

About three weeks ago, I didn't login to HSR because I was ill and totally forgot. When I logged in the next day, I didn't really care that I had missed out on the previous days dailies and just felt indifferent about it all. This has been a creeping feeling for months now as mentioned earlier, and I really feel like I might just stop logging in to this game in the near future. There's this weird feeling of "But what about all your characters, what about the things you've been waiting out for? What about all the daily login rewards you'll miss?" But the thing is, ever since my monthly pass expired in December, yeah, I've still been logging in as I said, but there's literally no excitement or anything, so I didn't bother renewing for another 6 months, because I have more pulls than I know what to do with. Which snowballed into me just starting to not login now.

Is this how it was for you guys when you quit a Gacha? I never really considered myself addicted as spending money on digital stuff always gave me great pause; but I would say that I'm feeling like I was 100% CONDITIONED at least to always be logging in with the normal daily rewards. But now that I'm breaking that cycle, there is a weird feeling of...sadness? Almost. I genuinely think I could just watch people play on YouTube and be fine, but even that seems boring to me as again, the story just isn't captivating anymore. "I'm just not having fun anymore" is how I feel, and while it's "scary" and sad to feel like I'm throwing my account away, I still had fun, right? That happened, so it's not a "lost". The only lost would be spending my time doing something I don't enjoy.

When did you quit temporarily or forever? How did you know the time was coming?

I've noticed this issue recently where it'll sign me out of ALL my accounts in new outlook randomly, then I will have to sign in again. This was never an issue before. WTF are the devs doing? Do they not understand how obnoxious and time consuming it is to sign in to all your email accounts with passwords all and codes all over again? This has happened twice now this year and it's really starting to make me angry.

I remember back during COVID times, a lot of the members of this ideology were also cheering on people dying or suffering with job loss, depression, isolation if they were "the unworthy". A medical office was even embroiled in scandal(But not covered by mainstream news or politicians) when they rejected a well known Conservative speaker for COVID testing. Where I live, a literal hospital released a politicians COVID status after he went for testing, just because he was critical of lockdowns. The hospital desperately tried to pin it on a single employee but there were many stories of hostile treatment of conservatives after.

Anyway, I mention all these things because I've always thought this ideology as nothing more than naked power seeking via guilt tripping and spreading of hostility and enmity between peoples. But I never thought that they'd stoop so low as to reject helping someone because of their absolutely milquetoast politics. Though I should have realized this when that one guy was shot by a University, and people ran over right away to protest, only to realize it was a white person, and shout "Nevermind it's a white guy" or something like that and the protest suddenly broke up. Utterly disgusting.

So imagine my foolishness today. I've struck upon very hard times and have only a little bit of food until I get paid later next week. I've been surviving off of sardines, 4 cans of beans and flour that I was able to purchase with my last $4 the past two weeks. It's been very tough and the flour is just empty carbs as I mix it with water and sugar then cook it like "bread". I'm pushing through but am really hurting for some solid protein/fat for energy, I just have 5 more days till payday then I'll be fine again. But the hunger got really bad as it's just not enough calories, and I thought to put my pride aside and reach out for assistance after the local government turned me away for income support.

I saw that Reddit had a community that offered to buy people food/other needs. So I was thinking, maybe I can get someone to buy me like 4 cans of spam and I can eat one a day with the "bread" I make for some solid energy to work. I looked at several grocers and saw I could get 4 cans for about $20. So I posted for just that basic help and what happened? first they wanted a bunch of personal information, fine, whatever. Then they wanted me to give them access to my Reddit account posting history, so they could "see if you are someone we are comfortable helping".

Straight up I laughed when I read that message. I have never, ever, in my upbringing as an "ist and ism", questioned someone about their politics, faith, education, weight, whatever you can think of when seeing them in need. I just helped people when I was doing very well in life. You want food? Sure I'm buying groceries anyway, come with. You need money and I have cash in my wallet? Sure, here, take it. I've been "had" by people sometimes taking the money and buying alcohol or whatever, but it's never bothered me, because I could understand their hardship and while not approving, could empathize.

This reddit community I tried asking for help in though wanted to determine if I was "worth helping" first. And it's all about ethics, human rights, "anti-hate", dignity, etc as per the groups policy.

Just wanted to share the messed up experience I had today. Also mods, I'm not begging for anything so chill.

Things have kinda gotten worse and worse steadily and just run out of money until payday due to rent, etc this week. I've been eating whatever pantry items I have the last two weeks, but it's starting to get to me physically, as all i have had are sardines, 4 cans of beans, half a bag of sugar and a 2.5Kg bag of flour i purchased with my last 4 dollars scrounged in my car/apartment. I've been frying the flour with sugar and water, but theyre basically doughnuts and the sugar crashes are hard. I just need to make it until Thursday.

I'd appreciate canned protein that has some fat to it like spam, corned beef, salmon, etc. I don't need anything fancy, just some solid protein with fat for energy with some calories that aren't empty. I can pickup if someone is wanting to order, etransfer/whatever else is fine. Just need some solid energy for work tomorrow. Thank you.

I thought car manufacturers hated video game collabs because their vehicles can get damaged or be "used improperly". But I hover around some gaming circles and it's hard to notice how often Porsche is collaborating in that industry. Just in this year alone, we have:

League of Legends: Wild Rift, Porsche 911 GT3:

Partnership skin inspired by the 911 GT3, a skin line for six champions, and a racing-themed event running from April to May.

-------------------

Resident Evil Requiem, Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT:

The Cayenne Turbo GT serves as the trusted vehicle for the protagonist, Leon S. Kennedy. The game launched on February 27, 2026, and the partnership also includes a real-world show car.

-------------------

Neverness to Everness(Game just launched 1 day ago), Porsche 918 Spyder (Upcoming) and the game developers have announced a launch collaboration that will feature the Porsche 918 Spyder as well.

Is this just easy marketing for them? I get that some gamers in the gacha space especially are very wealthy, but it's so weird... because most are broke AF(Raises hand). I was surprised to see Mercedes and Honkai: Star Rail as well partnering to give away a car, but that just seemed like a one off so far.

Are there other car brands heavily marketing in places you generally wouldn't expect? If so, where? Don't tell me Ferrari is partnering with BBQ companies.
