GPS tracker that does not alert the person it is traveling with

I have a minor family member who is on the autism spectrum and recently left the house unexpectedly. He was eventually located in a different state, so we are very concerned about the possibility of him running away again.

He refuses to wear his Apple Watch or carry his iPhone when leaving the house to go to school, which makes it difficult for us to keep track of him and ensure his safety.

I am looking for recommendations for a discreet tracking device that I could place in his school backpack and use with an iPhone to help locate him if he leaves unexpectedly. Ideally, I would like something that does not alert or notify him that it is being used.

Thank you for any recommendations or advice.

Best tracker for my bike that doesn't alert the thief

I have an e-bike, need to leave it at work in the garage but would like to be able to track it while I am at work (far from the parking) or when I leave it in the backyard of my house while at work. Is there any GPS tracker that does not alert the thief? For reference, I have an iPhone. Thank you

Which Jackson skates are better for US LTS adult 5?

Currently in US LTS 4, will be starting Adult 5 next month, bought Artiste last month in size 5.5 and they are bothering my right toes, often feeling the length is not long enough. I’m wondering if I may need a wider boot and possibly a half-size larger. If I do end up replacing them, what Jackson model would you recommend for someone moving into Adult 5?
I’m 5'4" and about 103 lbs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

How to setup firewall for Fios?

My 15-year-old owns a Windows workstation, but we do not have the Windows login credentials. I have the passwords for all of the other devices in the house.

We have Verizon Fios, but the parental controls available through the Fios app are fairly limited. There used to be options to create rules to restrict internet access on specific devices during certain days or hours, but the controls are not as granular as I would like.

Is there a way to set up something on my home network that would allow me to monitor the traffic going through the network without needing direct access to his computer? Ideally, I would like to be able to:

  • Block specific websites or categories of websites
  • See reports of websites/domains accessed
  • Set time-based internet access restrictions for specific devices
  • Monitor or control network access without logging into or installing anything directly on his Windows computer

If so, could you please recommend the best approach or type of network solution that would provide these capabilities? We have a G3100 and a E3200.

Jackson Aspire Footbed Skate Insole

Has anyone tried Jackson Aspire Footbed Skate Insole in their figure skates? Are those softer in the M4/M5 area (shown in the picture)? My Jackson's Artiste feels kind of hard on the insole.

How to setup the speakers for Insignia 5.1.2 Soundbar?

I have a TCL 75QM5K TV in my basement and wanted to purchase a sound bar for it, came across several options under $200 and among those, Insignia - 5.1.2 Channel Home Theater Soundbar caught my eyes. Had a question regarding the setup: Do I have to connect the Subwoofer with satellite rear speakers via cable? Or once I plugged in the subwoofer and the speakers into the power source, they all pair automatically?
Also please help me decide between Insignia 5.1.2 and Hisense AX700 5.1.4
Thank you

Metatarsal area M4 and M5 pain

I used to skate in Jackson's JS180 (Size 6 bought on Amazon) and found out those are not suitable for Adult 3 level so went and got professionally fitted for a pair at my local rink's pro shop: Artiste size 5.5. Now experiencing pain on the metatarsal area M4 and M5 as shown in the picture. I have had the toe box punched but it made no difference. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any insoles or pads I could use. I mostly feel the pain after like 30 min into my practice when I do backward one foot glide, backward swizzle pumps or I guess anything beside just simple laps.

Foot pain while ice skating — looking for advice

I have been experiencing pain under the ball of my right foot, specifically underneath the pinky toe and the toe next to it (4th and 5th toes) while ice skating.
The pain gets much worse when I’m standing still with my skates on.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
I’d really appreciate any advice or suggestions on what to check or adjust. Thank you!

LTS adult 4 eval - Needs improvement

Last night I had my Adult 4 evaluation, and I received “needs improvement” on a few elements. My coach did not pass me this time, but she said I was very close and that I can be tested again during Week 7.

Here is what she wrote on my evaluation report:

  1. Forward outside edge on a circle (R & L) — Passed both ✅
  2. Forward inside edge on a circle (R & L) — Passed both ✅
  3. Forward crossovers clockwise and counterclockwise — Needs improvement; needs to be smoother
  4. Backward one-foot glide — Right foot needs improvement, left foot needs improvement, but was very close
  5. Backward half swizzle pumps on a circle, clockwise and counterclockwise — Passed both ✅
  6. Hockey stop both directions — Needs improvement; needs to be a complete stop

I was a little disappointed, but I’m also encouraged because my coach said I was close and gave me the opportunity to test again.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation with Adult 4? For those who didn’t pass the first evaluation, how much progress were you able to make with extra practice before retesting? I’d love to hear your experiences and any tips, especially for improving backward one-foot glides, smoother crossovers, and stronger hockey stops!

Hockey skates laces become undone

My daughter recently upgraded to a better pair of hockey skates (Bauer FLY 30), but we are having trouble keeping the laces tight. During a one-hour ice session, I had to have her come off the ice three times just to tighten them.

She is using the regular laces that came with the skates. We have tried double knots, wrapping the laces around multiple times before tying the second knot, and the “two ear loops” method I found on YouTube, but nothing seems to be working.

Would switching to waxed laces help? If anyone has recommendations for good hockey laces or any other tips to keep skates tied securely, we would really appreciate it!

Salon refund comes out of stylist pocket?

I took my 15 year old son to Hair Cuttery for a perm. When we got home and his hair had fully air-dried, the curls were gone in most areas, with many sections remaining straight.

I called the stylist to explain what happened. Instead of listening, she immediately assumed my son had washed his hair, which was not true. I asked if we could receive a refund since my son had paid for the service with his own money. She insisted that her work was perfect when we left the salon and suggested that we must have done something to ruin it.

Throughout the conversation, I remained calm. I even told her that I have been coming to Hair Cuttery for the past 24 years and know she does good work. I suggested that perhaps the perm solution simply didn't process evenly in all areas. Despite that, she became increasingly defensive and said, "Come back tomorrow. I'll wash it and show you it's still curly, and then I'll give you your money back out of my own pocket."

I was disappointed by the way the situation was handled. After being a loyal customer for over two decades, I expected a more professional and understanding response rather than having the blame immediately placed on us. I wish I had never accepted that kind of treatment. She was definitely over reacting but I am now very uncomfortable to go back to her and even very uncomfortable to take my son there tomorrow. Does she really have to refund us from her own pocket? What should I do in this situation? My son is also very mad at home that his perm is all straight.

Ratio keto trio yogurt alternatives

Since Ratio Trio yogurt (formerly labeled as Ratio Keto) has become almost impossible to find in stores here in Virginia, I'm looking for some good alternatives.

I'm not necessarily trying to match the exact macros. What I'm looking for is a yogurt that:

  • Has a thick, creamy consistency
  • Comes in coconut or vanilla flavors
  • Ideally is higher in protein
  • Doesn't have that artificial protein taste that Ratio Protein has (I really don't like that one)

I'd love to hear your recommendations! Thanks!

Missing 15 year old boy

**MISSING CHILD – PLEASE SHARE**

We found his abandoned bike at the Loudoun transit bus stop across Dulles town center mall. Assuming he took the bus from there, he would have gone to Innovation metro center.

Our 15-year-old son, **Ryan**, from **Sterling, VA**, has not returned home after leaving yesterday to ride his bike.

**Description:**

* 15 years old

* Last seen wearing a **long-sleeve shirt** with a **gray Adidas jacket** over it

* **Black joggers**

* Possibly wearing a **cap**

* Riding a **blue/green regular bicycle**

He left yesterday saying he was going to ride his bike all day and would be home by dark, but he has still not returned. We are extremely worried.

If you have seen Ryan or have any information, **please call 911 immediately** or contact the **Loudoun County Sheriff's Office**. Even the smallest detail could help.

Please share this post to help us bring Ryan home safely.

Thank you so much.

Oldest in my class and feeling left out

I just started Adult 4, and one of the elements we’re working on is the backward one-foot glide. Since our class is very crowded, I usually wait for everyone else to start first so I don’t get in anyone’s way. However, everyone except me seems to skate backward much faster, and by the time I’m only halfway through, they are already coming back toward me, so we end up almost crashing into each other in the middle.

The coach doesn’t really wait for me to finish before moving on, and I have to admit it feels discouraging being the slowest one in the class (I’m also the oldest). On top of that, I’m still not able to do a backward one-foot glide yet.

I was wondering how long it took you to feel comfortable with this skill and what you would recommend I do to improve so I don’t feel left behind. I’d really appreciate any advice or encouragement!

Alternative for Fruit of the Loom Women BeyondSoft cotton-blend hipster underwear

Fruit of the Loom used to make the BeyondSoft cotton-blend hipster underwear, and they were incredibly comfortable. Unfortunately, they seem to have been discontinued. The newer BeyondSoft hipsters are completely different—they're no longer a cotton blend and have a slick, almost plastic-like feel that I really don't like and are made of 62% Modal, 33% Polyester, 5% Spandex. I think these are the pictures of the old ones I am looking for (found them online)

Has anyone found a hipster style that's similar to the old BeyondSoft version? I'd really appreciate any recommendations!

Best insoles for over pronating?

My daughter is 11 and she is currently in Hockey skates (Bauer X Fit 1 Size 3.5). Her coach told us that she is pronating inward and and we need to get her a pair of insole. I visited the pro shop at the rink last month and they said they do not have any. Will be visiting a hockey store soon but was hoping to get some recommendation on which model/brand to get for her. Any info will be much appreciated.

Are Artiste skates good for LTS 4 and beyond?

I will be starting LTS adult 4 next week, my current skates were Jacksons 180 soft skates so I learned from this group that these slates are not suitable for my level and I should go to a pro shop and get fitted fir a new pair of skates. Yesterday I visited my local pro shop. They immediately got me fitted for Artiste, the sales person said those will be better for me. I am 5'3" and weigh 105 lbs. I read here on this sub that Elle and Freestyle would have been better somI am kind of disappointed. Is the Artiste good enough to take me at least to LTS adult 6 or maybe when I start basic jumps?

Which blade did you pick for your Freestyle?

I am going to get fitted for the Freestyle and Elle this weekend hopefully the pro shop has both. I am currently in JS180  Soft Skates I have two questions please:

  1. For people who have freestyle, which blade did you go with Aspire or Mirage?
  2. Are the sizes consistent among all Jacksons?
