How long after your RTKR were you able to drive?

I'm looking at an RTKR this fall. It's likely my wife needs to travel out of town two weeks after my surgery. Wondering if I'll be able to drive myself to PT at that time. TIA.

Medicare and the ROMTech

I'm looking at my second knee replacement but I am now on Medicare. For my first my doctor prescribed the ROMTech device and my private insurance paid for it. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with it while on Medicare? Will it be covered? If not it's like $8000. TIA.

Knee Replacement and the ROMTech device

I'm looking at my second knee replacement. The first while on Medicare. For my first replacement while on private insurance my doctor prescribed the ROMTech pedaling device which was covered by my insurance. Does anyone have experience with this with Medicare and know if it will be covered or not? If it's not covered it's like $8000. TIA.

TIFU by eating Great Northern Beans

This was actually two days ago, but I've been trying to get more fiber in my diet recently. Usually, I eat oatmeal, flax seeds, berries, etc., but I decided to go nuts and try mixing beans and an avocado for ULTRA HEALTH PURPOSES.

But damn. Damn damn damn. That was a mistake.

I have never farted this much in my life. And it's hard not to mention the great reeking smell that emerges from my behind every 30 minutes. I have to leave the room with a trail of constant crop dusting in my wake.

I've always heard beans make you toot, but never in my years did I think it would be THIS bad. I only had about half a can, but the return on that investment is a world of misery. Please someone buy me a gas mask.

All I want is my bowels back. I wish I could unring the bean bell.

TL;DR - ate beans, farted eternally

What do you do with your old gear?

As I've learned and upgraded/updated my gear accordingly, I've accumulated a lot of items I no longer use. I barely have enough room to store the things I do actually use but I'm hesitant to get rid of older gear "just in case".

Young Lakes to Upper and Lower McCabe Lakes

I'm interested in trying the cross country route from Young Lakes to Upper McCabe Lake then onto Lower McCabe Lake before hooking up with the PCT to go to Glen Aulin.

I'm experienced with XC travel in Yosemite. The route would go by Roosevelt Lake and over Don't Be a Smart Pass.

Wondering if anyone has any experience with this route. The route to Upper McCabe looks pretty straight forward but I have some confusion on getting to Lower McCabe from Upper.

TIA.

Kolana Rock Rainbow

I heard some of the loudest thunder I ever had this day. Got rained on a little bit but the main storms passed south of me.

Lost coast trail questions

I'm doing the lost coast trail from Mattole to Black Sands at the end of may and had a couple questions.

  1. How many and how long are the stretches when you're walking along the beach in sand?

  2. How many and how long are the stretches when you're walking on the beach on cobbles?

  3. How high are the bluffs in general above the beach?

TIA.

I like everything about this tent except for the giant “DURSTON” logos next to both doors.

After spending $700 on some fancy plastic, I shouldn’t be obligated to advertise for the company in perpetuity.

Don’t get me wrong - this brand makes quality stuff. But I also think it’s weird to have the business owner’s last name plastered on both sides of my backpack and my shelter.

A sloppy fix would be a few layers of large DCF repair patches, but those are translucent, so logos would likely still show through. Has anyone solved for this, or does anyone have better ideas than the DCF repair tape?
