How does a 32 hour work week work?

I've been seeing more and more people advocating for a 32 hour work week, and I don't understand it? The government has no impact on how many hours employs work. There are salary employees who make the same amount regardless if they work 10 or 80 hours in a week. There's no limit to how many hours their employers can work them.

At the same time hourly employees do have limits. If they work more than 40 hours a week, they have to be paid overtime. So they could lower this number to 32. Although that might not have such a positive impact for employees. It's already hard to find a job that schedules an hourly employee for more than 40 hours a week, because they don't want to pay overtime. Dropping this number to 32 hours, would likely result in an 8 hour pay cut for millions of Americans.

Why do people blame male loneliness on being right-wing?

I see a lot of discussion lately over the male loneliness epidemic, and the large numbers of chronically single men. Many blame this issue on these men being alt-right, Trump supporting, misogynists. I know I've had issues myself, and I'm far from a Trump supporter. Beyond that Republicans are getting married at higher rates than Democrats. Many of the women I encounter on Tinder are very conservative/religious, and I'm just outside of Portland Oregon. Why do so many people act like this is a political thing?

How do we manage electric cars with apartments, and other limited parking housing?

So one of the biggest personal advantages of owning an electric car as opposed to gas, is the ability to charge your car from your home. It's both cheaper, and less effort than gasoline (especially today with how expensive gas is). The thing is this is really only an option for people with their own homes, especially as electric vehicles become more popular.

Many apartments don't have enough regular parking for all of their tenants, much less charging stations. You have an entire apartment complex fighting over a handful of charging stations. Especially since charging can take a long time, and is best done overnight for various reasons. You can't expect someone to wake up at 4am to move their car after it finishes charging.

Why is abortion made to be such a men vs women issue?

I've noticed lately that abortion rights have been made into a major male vs female issue, with people acting like women universally support abortion, and men universally want it banned. In reality 64% of women, and 55% of men support legal abortion. Plenty of men fully support it, while plenty of women want it banned. Some of the biggest opponents of abortion have been women.

Also while more impactful to women, abortion is something that is beneficial to men as well. Plenty of men get out of having to become unwanted fathers thanks to abortion. Sure they don't have to go through the pregnancy, but that doesn't mean men aren't impacted. I know if I got a woman pregnant, I would hope that she get an abortion, since I don't want kids.

Not to mention that men had much more control over the government that passed Roe compared to the government that overturned it. The majority of voters in 1973 were male, vs the majority female today. There also were no women on the Supreme Court in 1973, vs 4 today, including one who voted for overturning it.

Why do so many women not drive?

So I'm an epileptic man who lost his ability to drive after I started having seizures. I also use online dating. It's gotten pretty disheartening seeing how many women have "passenger princess" in their biographies. A significant number of the profiles I encounter say they don't drive. I'm curious why that's the case, and how they can function as adults. Not being able to drive makes me feel like a kid.

It's so infantilizing having to have my parents drive me everywhere at 30.

I'm a 30 year old man who developed epilepsy in my mid 20s. As a result I am unable to drive a car. I honestly feel like less of an adult today than I did 10 years ago when I was 20.

Executive dysfunction.

Has anyone else developed executive dysfunction issues after they started having seizures? I had my first seizure at 24, and ever since my ability to work efficiently has been greatly diminished. I had a therapist try and blame it on ADHD, but the thing is it never happened prior to my seizures. I wasn't perfect, but I was much more functional in the years prior to them starting. I was more on top of things like chores. I didn't forget the tasks I had to accomplish. I didn't get distracted easily. Now I can hardly keep focused on something longer than 30 minutes without looking at something else. I also get stuck doom scrolling on my phone. Before I would wake up and spend maybe 15-30 minutes playing on my phone before getting out of bed. Now it's hours. Also cooking, because I get distracted so much more easily, it takes me twice as long as it used to.

So suddenly today reddit isn't saving any data after I leave the page. I'll click on a post, and the homepage resets with completely different posts. After leaving a comment the post I'm in resets to the top of the page. Same if I try and close the app.
