So... when do we start picking our noses again?

I am still in my second week of recovery, 5 days out from having stents removed. I don't want to go digging in there too much, because obviously it's still healing and everything. But there are clearly a lot of boogers and stuff that I'd love to get out. I do a little picking around the outer nostril, but not too deep. I do saline sprays several times a day. Otherwise, I've just left it alone all stuffed up.

When did you feel comfortable picking out boogers and other crusty things?

What does "taking it easy" mean to you? (And how I stupidly went to work on day 2 of my recovery)

So I'm a bit embarrassed to say, I didn't do much research on recovery from my septoplasty/turbinate reduction surgery last Friday. I read the material the medical staff gave me, and knew I would have stents in my nose for a week. They told me to "take it easy, do no heavy lifting (like pick up my 4 year old), and no cardio."

I thought, got it. Take it easy. I have a managerial job that involves nothing more physical than walking around, and so I figured I would call out for my first shift and see how I felt after that. Well, my work didn't come through for me, and I dutifully ended up going under the caveat that I would "sit in the office until anyone needed me." Yeah, even doing that was a mistake. I was exhausted and miserable. I felt like I had a cold.

So my question is, what does "taking it easy" mean to you? Because to me, that doesn't mean lying in bed all day, it just means "don't get the heart rate up." That said, I've done plenty of lying around, too.
