Based, my iOS scorecarding app

I've been working on this app (with Claude) for a few months now. I used to use livebaseballscorecards.com to check my work in the park, but I was never happy with their lack of a mobile experience.

This app uses the MLB stats API and shows you the game of your choice in a scorecard format. It's also got some export options, you can export a blank card for your own scoring as a PDF or image, and some Instagram share options.

I also recently added WPBL game support.

Totally free, no ads, no subscription, works on the iPhone. I just made it because I wanted it and now I'm sharing it. My wife made the icon.

There's no live activities or widgets or push notifications because that requires having a server, and I didn't want it to get that complicated. I haven't ruled it out, but if you want those features, there are other great apps that do them.

HUP parking

I've got an appointment at HUP tomorrow (3400 Civic Center Blvd). Where's the best place around there to lock up?

When antihistamines stop helping

My Long Covid feels primarily autonomic / sympathetic-nervous-system driven: lightheadedness or a “floaty/drunk but not impaired” feeling, head and neck tension, tachycardia, adrenaline surges, and hypertension that rises and falls with the symptoms.

When I am doing relatively well, my BP may be around 130–135/90–100. During a flare, it can rise to 150–170/105–120, usually alongside a higher heart rate and intense physical agitation. It's like the opposite of POTS, my blood pressure is astronomical and I feel awful.

The BP, HR, lightheadedness, and wired fight-or-flight feeling move together. When it hits, I feel miserable: overstimulated, tense, vaguely sick, and unable to settle even lying down. I can still function and exercise, but it makes daily life feel awful.

For much of 2025, Zyrtec plus Pepcid helped substantially. I was taking Pepcid 20 mg twice daily and roughly 10–15 mg of Zyrtec at night. It did not eliminate symptoms, but it meaningfully reduced the lightheadedness and BP/HR volatility.

My Long Covid doctor added LDN, and I took 2.5 mg nightly for about six months. I initially thought it might help, but I have felt much worse over the last month or so and am currently taking a break from it to see whether it was contributing. I also tried Allegra recently; it briefly seemed promising but ultimately felt activating and made me feel worse, so I am back on Zyrtec.

My PCP has prescribed Zepbound, partly for weight loss but also with the hope that a GLP-1 could help longer-term with inflammation, sleep apnea, reflux, and BP risk. I have not started it yet. My Long Covid clinic has also mentioned a rapamycin trial, but I am trying to understand more conventional next steps first.

I am already working with a PCP, nephrology, and a Long Covid clinic. I am not looking for a giant supplement stack, obscure peptides, or dozens of things to trial. I am mainly interested in medications to discuss with doctors, or exercise / rehab approaches that helped people reduce this kind of chronic autonomic overactivation.

For people with a similar high-HR, high-BP, lightheaded, wired pattern:

• Did switching H1 antihistamines or changing H2 treatment make a real difference after your original regimen stopped helping?

• Were there doctor-supervised medications or dysautonomia/autonomic approaches that actually reduced the surge pattern rather than just sedating you?

• What type of exercise or rehab helped, especially for people who can tolerate activity but still feel chronically dysregulated?

City Hall connections

It drives me insane that SEPTA doesn't hold connections at City Hall after stadium events. Last night the first northbound express B after the Phillies game, and both the east and westbound L, arrived at the same time. They don't hold either, so everyone transferring in either direction has to wait fourteen minutes for the next train. We have two train lines with one transfer point!

Commenting challenge: write something more insightful than "lol it's SEPTA what do you expect"

Sedgley Dr and Lemon Hill?

Can I take Sedgley Drive between Kelly and Girard on a bike right now? Is the area fully closed off or just closed to cars?

Always favoring phones and watches, even of visitors

The 26 OSes are driving me insane. When I say "hey Siri" two inches from the HomePod, my wife's phone will answer on the other side of the room if she's using it. Her watch will respond. I've even had friends who are over have their phones try to answer the request. Why is it now so biased toward "literally any other device".

Elite Gold re-up

My free year of elite gold is running out and I'm short of the points required to keep status. Any way to keep it short of doing manufactured spend on the credit card?
