When did you start implementing rules?

Baby is 7 months right now and of course she‘s always wildly flapping her hands around, grabbing at things and pulling my hair. Yesterday during her dinner, she was happy screaming at the top of her lungs, so I tried telling her to not be so crazy loud since it was hurting my ears. When did you feel like your baby started to understand when you told them no, no hitting, no hair pulling or screaming like a banshee? How soon does it even make sense to start having these boundaries? I‘m asking because I‘m not sure how much control she has yet over the little slappies 😂

Günstige Werkstatt für Karosseriereparatur

Hallo zusammen,

Plate vs ate!

I feel like we’re on a good path? I did spoon feed half of the plate but she really liked it! Now we both smell like sardines though. 🤢

feat. Catchy in the background, in only two weeks it has saved my sanity every single day

How are we introducing a second meal?

We‘ve only just started purees but I‘m already worrying ahead. Baby isn‘t quite ready to self feed yet, so I‘m trying to introduce allergens and the standard purees first.

Whenever she will be ready for a second meal, how do I go about that? Do you do BLW for both meals or finger food for lunch and a grain puree for dinner? (That‘s what my mom said she did) I‘m absolutely clueless 🥲

Diagnosis in Germany (Cologne/Düsseldorf/Aachen/NRW)

Hello, I‘m seeking help for my grandma who we believe has been suffering from CFS for 4 years.

She used to be mild, after a surgery this year she has progressed to moderate, most days she is bedridden. Still, she can‘t get a diagnosis. Her primary care doctor called CFS a ‚trendy diagnosis‘, we have called and emailed many doctors and centers to no avail, either they aren‘t specialised or their waiting lists are full and not taking any new patients.

If anyone has any tips or ideas how to get her diagnosed, online or in person, paid for by insurance or self-paid, please drop them below. Thank you 🙏

6 month growth spurt

Baby just turned 6 months and is suddenly completely different! She‘s always had 3-5 night wakes for feeding and comfort nursing (we cosleep) but these last few nights she‘s been awake every single hour. Yesterday when I put her to bed, she woke every 20 minutes screaming bloody murder, this morning she was awake between 4am and 6am when she usually sleeps the whole night with a few wakes! In the day, she‘s fighting all naps, carrier or bed with mommy, when she‘s awake she‘s super cranky.

How long did this phase last for you and what skills did your baby develop when it ended?

Tapering off 10mg

I‘ve been on it for about 4 years, it‘s done wonders for migraine and headache prevention, used to have 24/7 post-covid headache and biweekly migraines. My GP has stopped prescribing it, so I need to go see my neurologist soon. I‘ve been thinking about slowly tapering off since I‘m really struggling with the side effects which are for me light and sun sensitivity and sweating a lot. But I also have a baby now, I can‘t risk getting so many migraines again and after reading some posts here I‘m really scared! Do you think I should try to taper off and maybe go back up if I have problems? When I started, I also had two weeks of severe depression, so not really keen on having that again. Thanks!

How did your ability to work physically demanding jobs progress?

Hey guys, I don’t have an official diagnosis yet but have been referred to rheumatology due to random joint pains and morning stiffness in my feet. I also have psoriatic sores and my father has had psoriatic arthritis for years now, so I figured it‘s only a matter of time. I‘m only 25 and just became a mom, we‘re currently a single earner household and I‘ve been thinking about whether I‘ll be able to work in the future (I‘m in nursing). There is insurance in the case of me being unable to work in the future, but that‘s crazy expensive and not really in our budget at this point. Of course it would be wiser to get the insurance before getting an official diagnosis though. Do any of you have physically demanding jobs and can tell me about how your arthritis has affected your ability to work them over time? I‘ve already noticed before my pregnancy how my knees and ankles hurt after kneeling or squatting to the ground. Thanks in advance!

Best dinner time in August?

Hey guys, I‘m booking a day trip as a gift for MIL and her daughter and want to send them to a restaurant for dinner. They really want to see the Lights show, but I think that‘s only at 9:30 pm or even 10pm, what time should they be in their spots to see it well? And what‘s the latest dinner reservation time that still lets them enjoy the whole park without feeling like they missed something? Should I scrap the dinner altogether and just have them get something quick to go? Thanks in advance 🙏

Why do so many middle eastern people drive a Benz?

Really trying not to generalize here, but I used to think it‘s just a cliche that all the middle easterners have a Mercedes. But every time I go to the grocery store, I‘m surrounded by mostly young arab guys or families with their Benz‘s. Of course many Germans drive them too, but with them there is a lot more diversity in car brands, at least for what I‘ve noticed lately. Is there a reason for that or am I wrong in thinking the cliche is true?

Questions for cat parents

How do you keep your cat litters and water/food safe from baby hands? Baby isn’t crawling yet but I need to prepare, we rent so can‘t do anything crazy. I have two cats that won’t use closed litter boxes, partly because they attack each other constantly. I‘ve thought about having open litter boxes and fencing them off with baby fences, maybe anyone has better ideas?

It‘s my husband’s first day back at work and I‘m already wondering how I‘ll keep baby (and me lol) occupied before she‘s even woken up 🫠 what are we doing with them apart from the obvious playing & taking walks?
