I just installed a new heatsink on my SSD and temps are as follows:
Idle: 45c
Regular use 55-60c
Gaming: up to 72c
Copying hundreds of gb of data (stress testing): up to 80c

How alarming are these SSD temps? Do I need to find a new heatsink?

After a fresh Windows install, I am unable to use Anydesk. I can't sign in (the request times out) and I can't get an address or connect. I've rebooted, added exceptions in my firewall for AnyDesk (which I've never had to do before). I have a good internet connection and all of my other devices can connect to AnyDesk. What is going on and how can I fix it?

Is it ok to have open air under an SSD? I am installing a primary 8tb doublesided SSD in place of an SSD that had a heatsink, and the doublesided SSD did not fit. Now, I have a copper heasink around the doublesided SSD that I used in another PC and it worked just fine with normal temps. But, that PC had thermal blocks underneath the SSD, in addition to the copper heatsink on top. Right now the PC has nothing below the SSD. Is this ok? Or does it need thermal blocks beneath it?

I have thermal pads I can put under it, but I'm not sure if that would do anything since they wouldn't be touching anything besides the SSD?

This has been a problem on all of the 2025 G16s I’ve used. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have a 2024 MSI Titan with an RTX 4090 GPU, Intel Core i9 14th gen CPU, 4k MiniLED screen, 4tb storage, and 128gb RAM. Laptop is in pretty good physical condition, with no visible scratches on the screen. Laptop was getting low Timespy scores but after repasting PTM7950, allowing it to settle, and reinstalling OS and it is getting consistently around 16,500-17,000 on extreme performance mode. Still a little low for a 175w RTX 4090 laptop, more in line with the slightly lower wattage 4090 laptops. Day to day performance is smooth and good. There is sometimes a slight noise just for a second if you shake the computer but it is not always there. It has not been noticeable in daily use for me, though I usually keep my laptop upright. Running Windows 11 Pro.

Just the RAM alone is worth like 1,500. How much is it worth for the whole laptop?

Specifically, I’m wondering if you can install the vBios of the 2026 5080 which has 160TDP onto a 2025 Zephyrus G16 5080. Or are there any other ways to get extra power to a 2025 Intel 5080 Zephyrus g16?

I connect my laptop with a 4k tv and set it to only project to the TV, which works fine. The problem is, when coming back to my original laptop screen only, the display scale is changed to 250%, no matter what it was before. It is locked on 250%, unless I enter the value (which is set at 200, so I have to change it to something else and then back to 200 to properly change it).

I checked the value LogPixels in Regedit in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop, and the value is 192 which should correlate with the 200% scaling. So I'm not sure what's happening. Does anyone know what this might be? Thanks for any help you can give.

My MSI Titan 2024 is caught in a BIOS boot loop.

I put back in the laptop's' original SSDs so I can send it to be repaired, but now I'm stuck in a BIOS boot loop. It detects the two original SSDs, but can’t read the OS off of one of them (which might be to be expected, since I just installed them).

But what is not expected is that the laptop is also not booting to the USB recovery drive I have from when I originally got the laptop. How can I escape this boot loop?

Something to note is that every time I set the boot order, it resets itself when it restarts. Fast boot resets itself too.

Edit: Just ran Timespy again and got 11946

I just had my laptop professionally repasted with PTM 7950 but the results are still Timespy-14569, when I used to get like 20,000 on it. I can't play games in 4k unless on DLSS Performance now and even then its iffy. What else could be wrong with it?

I am getting my MSI TItan 2024 a thermal repaste, but am unsure which to use. From what I understand, PTM 7958 is a thermal paste that is by stock pasted onto the MSI Titan. PTM 7950 is a thermal pad that seems to be recommended everywhere. Has anybody used both and can speak to their quality?
