Sleeping posture C6C7 disc protrusion

Diagnosed with C6C7 protrusion over 9 months ago. It's been an up and down journey. After the first 4 months I have had several weeks with much less pain but other weeks not so great.

The main trigger now seems to be sleeping posture.

If I sleep neutral, supine, face facing up mostly. I feel fine

But if I side sleep or sleep with my neck in weird postures. I wake up with terrible pain and numbness. The numbness gets better as I get up but the pain lingers on for the day.

So how do you guys sleep straight while recovering from neck issues. How does one prevent the body from sleeping on the side.

Back pain and high profile types

Anybody else hate how the entire auto industry is pushing for larger wheel rims, thereby reducing the side wall height and you feel potholes and bad patches of the road even more

I wish auto manufacturers gave customers the option of high profile tyres still .

Weight loss and discs

Everybody knows weight loss helps the lumbar disc protrusions recover but does the same apply for cervical discs too?

Anybody correlate their cervical disc recovery to weight loss ?

Chronic pain from C6C7

I got diagnosed with a C6C7 disc protrusion about 9 months ago and I had a repeat MRI a few months ago and i was told it's mostly unchanged.

My main symptoms were pain at the base of the neck and numbness in the fingers sometimes.

I have weeks when I have almost no pain punctuated by weeks with pain. I have been going for physio - decompression therapy.

Exercises - unable to do them without increasing the pain. The only exercise that works like magic is chin tucks. I get immediate relief from it.

Anyways. My primary concern is when I sleep on my side I wake up with much more pain and symptoms like numbness in the fingers. If I sleep straight all night I wake up just fine.

Is there a way I can train myself to sleep straight on my back and have my head looking up all night? Sleeping on the side seems to be my main trigger and source of pain
