The war of two queens

I just finished the war of two queens and holy crap the info dump at the end was a lot to take in.

• I find it so funny EVERY single book in this series essentially ends with oh now the war is really coming

• Okay so, Isbitch wanted to raise Kolis to raise hell to get her revenge against the Atlantians (aka mama and papa Da’Neer) and she needed to kill a primal to make it happen??? It should’ve been Millie but Millie failed during her ascension. It could’ve been Poppy but she chose her over her heart mate. Kolis is free. I’m definitely missing some things. My brain hurts.

• Super intrigued with Millie and Malik.

• I wanted more from Isbitch and Poppy and Millie. Although I’m glad Isbitch is gone. The dynamic was so interesting!

• Also good thing they joined since Cas is missing a finger now Kieran can make up for that lost finger. Although I’m really disappointed by the way the scene was written.

• Okay now time to start from flesh and fire 🥳

Tithe, Valiant, and Ironside

Let me start this post by saying I adore Holly Black. I have reread the cruel prince series so many times! I loved her writing in those books… however Tithe I am having a very hard time following her writing for some reason. I wanted to read the series for Roiben so I’m kinda bummed, but her writing is very erratic in this series (to me at least lol). Does it get better as the books go on? Or should I jump ship?

Like literally in the prologue one paragraph her and her mom get attacked, then in the same paragraph the mom is like honey we must move now. Then they do??? All in one paragraph??? Like what 😅😆.

Flesh and Fire

Alright I’ve been convinced to read the prequel. I must understand why everyone is in love with Nyktos. I’m currently reading the war of two queens. Can I read book 5, then after book 5 read the prequel before reading primal or should I start the prequel when I finish war of two queens???

I’m also not going to lie, I’m also loving reaver and I saw he was in the prequel so I’m sold.

Just finished 😭

This series was one of the most beautiful stories I’ve had the honor to read. It’s a bittersweet feeling to have finished because now I have to leave their world. 😭

• Auren’s healing journey and her acceptance of herself has me so emotional. She came so far!!! She kept her kindness the entire series. I love how she always said “bright side” to things.

•I’m so glad her, Digby, and Rissa got to reunite and she can finally live for herself!!!

• I was NOT expecting to look forward to Malina’s story. I cried SO hard for how her story ended.

• ALSO HER RIBBONS / WINGS??? MY HEART!!!

• Ryatt could still get it

Greenbriar bros.

I find it really fascinating that Dain says that poison while it is effective, it’s a cowards way of murder. Meanwhile he was poisoning his father into stepping down and obviously what he did to Liriope.

•I feel like he saw these things as an ends to a mean and maybe he felt disgusted with himself for doing so?I thought maybe it was just a dalliance between them and he panicked but then it is mentioned he held on to love letters he had written to her. Or am I being optimistic for his character?

•Do we think he would’ve still killed Liriope even if the prophecy wasn’t what it was for Oak?

•Now onto Balekin. Reading I interpreted it as he didn’t partake in the drugs and alcohol and he was perhaps using the drugs to be in control of everyone else around him. Which is confusing because he isn’t very bright as a character 😆.

POV: Slade finds out you bumped into Auren once ten years ago and didn’t apologize to her

I’m 60% through Gold and boy you guys weren’t kidding about Slade getting revenge for Auren.

•Afterwards it made me laugh how he was upset he didn’t have anyone else to kill on her behalf. I am loving this series!!!

•I’m so glad she was able to find a good friend in Emonie!

•I am worried wick will turn on Auren, he seems so guarded towards her it’s shady for me!!

•I love how Auren is making the most of them being separated while Slade is just being an absolute menace.

•STILL wanting more Ryatt!!!

Gold

I’m alternating between this series and the from blood and ash series. I am finally starting Gold,

• I’m not entirely sure where Queen Malina’s story is going to go but I’m not super enthused with her having what seems to be a redemption arc.

• On the other hand I’m digging Ryatt 👀 I can fix him you guys. I am hoping he has a romance plot!!!

• I haaaate when book couples are separated but I feel like Auren may need the time to come into her own without Slade by her side so I’m happy to see her character development 😌

I don’t mind spoilers I understand it comes with the territory of posting here.

Flareup

I had weeks at a time where I for the most part felt normal!!!! Since last weekend I’ve been incredibly dizzy again. I feel so down about it. I’ve been stressed and upset lately (I believe it’s hormonal due to menstrual cycle?) before this flare up, I was able to go back to living my day to day life again and now I’m having to pump the breaks.

Do flareups last for a week or two at time? I’m worried this is my new normal. I fought so hard through the dizziness to get to normal again and I was nearly there!!! I was working, exercising, going out again now I just want to lay down all day again. 🥲
