Ube white chocolate coconut macadamia bars
I must admit I am loving ube flavored desserts! And with the white chocolate and coconut and macadamia, these were *chef's kiss*

I followed the recipe: https://scientificallysweet.com/bakery-style-double-chocolate-cookies/
Only difference I made was cutting up salted caramel chocolate bars that I had on hand from Ikea and these were delish!
Didn't even last two days - these got devoured 😅
I wanted to make scones that aren't dry and crumbly so I attempted with this strawberry white chocolate version. The texture and flavour were on point. Not dry or crumbly and lightly sweet. But I wasn't sure if it is supposed to rise more? Did these turn out too flat because the strawberries weighed them down?
Not sure but it was delicious.
It tasted good but I wanted more layers. I am assuming I didn't roll it the enough?
I was following the method where you knead and roll right out of the fridge but the dough kept shrinking so it was hard to roll it out. Should I next time let it settle a bit to room temperature before I roll?
Located at 295 McArthur Avenue (parking available). The tacos were good. I tried the pastor (smoky) and suadero. I wish the corn tacos themselves were the double ones like some other restaurants serve. Overall not a bad place for a taco fix!
Sometimes all you need are some warm cookies and milk!
In my hunt for low calorie, near to zero sugar sweets, I found this mix in my grocery store. The macros on it were decent but it calls to add 4 eggs and 6 tbsp of butter which would not help me in my deficit.
I tweaked it by adding 2 eggs, 150g egg whites, 170g 0% Greek yogurt, 25g of vanilla gold standard whey protein and some vanilla extract.
The recipe yielded 16 cupcakes with each one being 117 calories, 7.7g protein, 16.3g carbs, 2.2g fat and 7.8g fibre.
That's 8.5g net carbs. Tasted pretty good too - just have to wait for it to cool completely.
I tried the viral Greek yogurt bagels and topped two with everything season and the other two with a mix of olive oil and zaatar. Surprisingly easy and tasted pretty good!

This place had some delicious food! But it is cash only. Located at 939 Bd Décarie, Saint-Laurent.
During the last quarter of 2025, I managed to lose 19 lbs and I was happy as that was my goal weight. Since then, I have gained 5 lbs in 2026 and no matter what I try, I keep skirting around the same weight. My weakness is sweets unfortunately and I could be doing well over the week but come the weekend, with family events and travelling etc., I feel Mondays always become a reset. It is a vicious cycle.
Any recommendations/advice/resources to help me get back on track and stay on track to lose those last 5 lbs?
I was hoping I would hate this but omg it was really good! Very light, not too sweet and not too fake of a coconut flavour. I went to their OG location on McArthur. Not the friendliest of staff but it was packed. Next time I will try their Orleans location. I have yet to try their pizza though 😂
The service was friendly and the food was delicious. I went during lunch hour and there was plenty of seating. Also tried their spiced tea. Next time I will have to try their desserts.
Makes 1 loaf (9x5 inch pan)
Dry ingredients:
135g oat flour
112g almond flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp ground cardamom (fresh is best)
Wet ingredients:
2 eggs
170g 0% Greek yogurt
1 tsp vanilla extract
160g pitted medjool dates
60g hot water (to blend dates)
Mix-ins:
200g finely grated carrot
Preheat oven to 350°F and grease or line 9x5 loaf pan with parchment paper.
Combine dry ingredients and whisk it a bit to break up clumps.
Blend the dates and hot water to form a paste. Add the eggs, Greek yogurt and vanilla and blend.
In a bowl combine blended wet ingredients with carrots and then add the dry ingredients until just combined.
Transfer to loaf pan and bake for 45-50 minutes (varies so keep an eye on it at the end).
Let cool in pan for 15 minutes then transfer to a rack to cool.
Had to use up a couple of oranges so decided to make this loaf cake with frozen cranberries.
Such an easy and quick recipe and so flavorful! I have it as a wrap or pair it with rice.

Not a bad taco spot! The wait was long but the tacos tasted good. The restaurant is fairly small though.
I like that Orleans now has a more coffee shop options!
This could easily be one of my top 5 creations! The combination of mango, Indian spices and pistachios - heaven!
