Need advice from the experts

Hey everyone. I am in the process of importing a JDM SW20 turbo. The dealer who imported it is doing some maintenance work to it, getting it ready for sale. He sent me these pics of the engine bay. Other than a little light rust in a couple spots, I don't see anything that seems obviously concerning. I was wondering if anyone who is more knowledgeable about these cars could look at these pictures and see if there are any glaring issues that I should address before buying this car? I put a deposit on it while it was still on the boat, and I haven't seen the car in person yet. I put down the deposit based on the auction sheet, which graded it at 3.5 with a C interior. If anyone has any advice or sees any obvious problems in these pics, I would greatly appreciate any feedback. Also, where is the foam that people tends to absorb moisture and people remove it? Is there an easy way to check that area while I'm at the dealer? Thanks! I can't wait to join the club!

Time to revisit these 2

At one point, I had every book Sai King published up to the final Dark Tower. I lost them all in a divorce and have been slowly rebuilding my collection. With the upcoming release of Other Worlds Than These, it felt like the right time to re-acquire and re-read these 2. Thankfully used book stores are flush with King books. Although the Talisman was a little harder to find. I suspect I'm not the only one revisiting these books right now.

Suburban pigs

This one was the best of 6 that I got this morning. None of them smaller than 2lb. Suburban retention pond.

Anybody know what Jason Bateman was wearing on The Daily Show last night?

Looks like a Sekio Prospex panda? As a Seiko fan, I get excited when I see celebs repping the brand. Sorry for the blurry pics, it was the best I could do pausing a YouTube video on my TV lol

Anybody in the US have experience with importing an MR2 (or any JDM) from Japan?

Hey all. I have been considering the possibility of importing a JDM SW20 MR2 mainly for the reason that there are so few available in the US. I have a budget of about $15k, and in that range, I have found some high mileage GT and GTS models available. However, I have never imported a JDM or any other foreign car to the US, so I have a lot of questions and I figured I would start here with actual owners and see if anyone here has successfully imported a car from Japan. So, has anyone here imported a car from Japan to the US? If so, I would be very grateful if you could give me some insight into the process and answer a few questions I have:

  1. The import process seems complicated and involves a lot of paperwork. Do you have experience with this? I see there are importers here in the US willing to do the legwork for you, but it seems you pay a premium for their services. The exporters located in Japan are much cheaper, but you have to do the legwork and paperwork yourself. Is the paperwork easy and self-explanatory?

  2. How did you get your car home from the shipping port? Did you have someone flatbed it to you? I'm assuming, if I live in IL and have it shipped to FL, there will be no way to have it registered so I can drive it home? Is there a way to register the car before you go to the port and take possession of it?

  3. Does your insurance company cover your import? Will good old Progressive allow me to add this car to my plan? Or would a 30 year old foreign imported car require some sort of specialized insurance? Is it considerably more expensive than regular insurance?

  4. Does anyone have experience with carsfromjapan? If you imported through a different site, how was your experience? Would you recommend the site you used to others? Have you heard of others having good or bad experiences and which specific sites they used?

  5. Was it hard to adjust to RHD? Shifting with my left hand feels like it would take some getting used to, as well as the different perspective from sitting on the right side of the car. Did anyone have a hard time adjusting to the differences?

Thanks all. I have dreamed about an SW20 turbo since I was 13. I bought a Celica GT-S in high school because I couldn't afford an MR2 turbo at that time, and they slowly disappeared off the streets over the years. So I really want to make this dream come true now, 30 years later.

I've had this Couturier for 5 years or more. Time for a refresh. Any strap recommendations?

I was thinking maybe a gray leather strap? Preferably with a clasp and of a good enough quality for this watch.

We have decided to renovate our game room, so we needed to move our pins out of the room. But we didn't want to not be able to play any of our machines for the whole time, so we shoved them where we could find space.
