title: brownish red lipstick for olive undertones + long wear?

olive undertone girlies i need your help 😭

i’m looking for a brownish-red lipstick that actually looks good on olive skin. i was thinking of getting maybelline maybe its intense or l’oréal worth it intense, but i’m so confused 😭

worth it intense isn’t really long-lasting and i’m someone who barely reapplies lipstick throughout the day, so longevity is kinda important to me.

which one would you pick? or pls recommend some other brown-red shades with good staying power that are easily available in india 🫶🏻

i just want that pretty deep brownish red without it pulling too pink/orange on me 😭

pls help me find a lipstick that doesn’t pull pink/orange/peach/purple on me 😭

guys i’m struggling so bad to find a lipstick that actually looks normal on me lol

i have a medium tan skin tone with a slight olive undertone (warm/golden cast). i’ll attach a pinterest pic as a skin tone reference!

lorealparis lazy sunday pulls purple on me
lakme cocoa soft pulls orange on me (looks okay when i use a brown lipliner tho)
nykaa deja nude also pulls orange on me

i’m looking for something that stays more brown/reddish brown on me. i don’t want anything that pulls pink, orange, peach or purple 😭 just a nice brown shade

also pls don’t recommend mars or swiss beauty, i’ve already seen those recs everywhere nd it gives pigmentation😭

pls drop your recs!! especially if you have a similar skin tone/undertone because i’m genuinely so confused atp 💀

budget friendly + easily available in india would be a huge plus pls <3

how do you guys stay put together in super hot humid climate?????

i'm genuinely struggling 😭

i recently moved to kerala after spending a few years somewhere that wasn't nearly this humid, and i forgot how brutal this weather is. i live pretty close to the sea, so i feel like it's even worse.

i travel by local bus every day, so by the time i reach college i already feel like i've survived something 💀

hair isn't really my issue anymore. i have curly, frizzy hair with a million baby hairs, but i finally found something that works (a wax/flyaway stick), so i've made peace with that.

it's my face that's driving me insane. i just do my skincare, concealer, blush, lipstick, and set my concealer with loose powder. when i leave home, everything looks fine. but after some time in this humidity, it all starts fading. honestly, i don't even care if the makeup wears off. i just don't want my face to end up looking so dull, puffy and tired.

i'm medium-tan (leaning more towards tan), so once i start sweating my face just loses all life. i leave home looking like 👸 and by the time i reach college i look like 🧟‍♀️

i've also seen so many people say cream blushes don't last in humidity and that lip & cheek tints hold up better. is that actually true? should i switch to tints instead of blush? or is there something else i'm missing?i use loose powder to set my under eyes thats all.

how do you guys stay looking fresh and put together in this weather? any makeup tips, skincare tips, products, or even small habits that make a difference? affordable recommendations would be amazing, but i'm okay with spending a bit if something is genuinely worth it.

i just want to look presentable throughout the day instead of looking like the humidity stole my soul 😭

Im confused between moxie wax stick / bare anatomy flyaway gel

can someone who's tried both help me out?

i already use the bare anatomy flyaway stick. it's decent, but i have curly hair with a lot of baby hairs, and i live in a really humid place, so i'm not sure if it's the best option.

i keep seeing the moxie wax stick everywhere, and now i'm tempted to get it. is it actually better, or is it just overhyped?

does it hold baby hairs better? how does it perform in humidity? does it leave your hair greasy, flaky, or stiff? and is the hold noticeably better than bare anatomy?

i don't want to keep buying products that do the same thing, so i'd love to hear from anyone who's used both. was it worth switching or should i just stick with bare anatomy?

Need help !!

i'm genuinely so confused at this point.

i'm medium to tan (leaning more towards tan) and i have an olive undertone. almost every nude or brown lipstick i've tried somehow ends up looking orange, peachy or washes out even when it looks neutral on everyone else.

i've realised i don't really want another nude. i'm looking for more of a brick red or a brown with red undertones. something that's wearable but doesn't pull orange.

i don't mind doing a lip combo either, but i honestly have no idea what products to mix to get that kind of shade.

my budget is around 400–700. i also need it to be long lasting because i'm terrible at reapplying lipstick during the day.

please don't recommend mars or swiss beauty. i had a bad experience with both and i feel like they made my lip pigmentation worse, so i'd rather avoid them.

if you have a similar skin tone or olive undertones, what shades have actually worked for you? i'd love specific shade names or lip liner + lipstick combos if you have any. i'm tired of buying lipsticks that look completely different on me than they do in swatches 😭

am i the problem or are these lipsticks lying 😭

I'm genuinely so confused at this point, and I feel like I'm just wasting money buying lipsticks. Someone pls tell me what shade family I actually belong to 😭 Lipstick experts, pls save my wallet.

I'm somewhere between medium and tan. I have a warm/golden olive leaning undertone, but I tan and oxidize pretty easily in humid weather, so I don't know if that's affecting how lipsticks look on me.

I've tried Lip Whip Ride and it turned into a peachy brown on me. nykaa deja nude did the exact same thing. It only looked okay with a brown lip liner, but I still wasn't a huge fan.

Then I bought loreal Lazy Sunday because I thought it would finally be THE ONE. I actually like it, but only if I apply a very thin layer with a brown lip liner. If I build it up even a little, it starts looking really purple on me. Not even a soft mauve, just... purple. 😭

I also tried Lakme Cocoa Soft thinking it'd be a nice everyday brown, but that also looked orangey/peachy.

At this point I've realised that every warm nude somehow turns peach or orange on me, mauves turn purple, and darker browns make my lips look muddy.

The only shades I seem to like are medium browns... or maybe reddish/rosy browns? 😭 I honestly don't even know at this point.

I'm attaching a couple of reference photos because the first two are exactly the kind of lip colour I'm trying to achieve. Does anyone know any lipsticks that give a similar look on medium-tan skin? (I lean more towards tan.) The third picture is just another shade I liked. If anyone knows the exact lipstick or something similar, please let me know, but I'm mainly looking for something like the first two.

Also, one more thing. I used a mars lip liner and lipstick for a while, and I feel like my lips became darker afterwards, so I'm a little scared of getting lip products from mars again.

I'd really appreciate any shade recommendations. Budget is around 400–800. I'm okay with glosses and tints too since I almost always top my matte lipsticks with a gloss anyway. I'm not really a bullet lipstick person. I just want something I can throw on in the morning without needing a brown lip liner or mixing three different products every day.

Thank you! 🥹

Best lip combo for medium tan warm skin?

Hii! I need some help finding an everyday lip combo.

I have medium tan skin with a warm undertone, a slight olive tint and a golden cast. I'm looking for that glossy lip that looks effortless and put together. My budget is around 400–700. I've attached a some inspo pics of the kind of lip look I'm trying to achieve.

A few things:

  • Please don't recommend Mars or Swiss Beauty. Their lip products haven't worked well for me and my lips end up feeling dry.
  • Is Faces Canada actually good? I've never tried their lipsticks and I'm wondering if they're comfortable to wear and which shades you'd recommend.
  • Open to other brands too if they're in the same budget.

If you have a similar skin tone, I'd love to know your favourite lipstick + liner + gloss combos. Bonus points if you can mention the exact shade names! 🤎

Thank youu 🫶

help me find these lip combos plsss

i've been trying to recreate these lip combos for the longest time :) i have medium tan skin with warm/golden-olive undertones, and most nude lipsticks either end up looking too peachy, too pink, or just wash me out.

  1. love how rich and chocolatey this one is.
  2. the perfect brown nude imo. it's warm without looking orange.
  3. this one's my favorite. i know there's a brown liner, but i can't figure out what's in the center to make it look so soft and blended.

not looking for the gloss btw, just the lip combo underneath. exact products or similar shades are both welcome 🤎

Looking for a lipstick/lip combo like this!

I'm trying to get this deep glossy brown-red lip (photo attached). I already own a brown lip liner, but I struggle to find the right lipstick.

I bought Loreal Lazy Sunday, but it pulls quite purple on me, which isn't the look I'm after. I'm looking for something that's more warm brown with a muted berry/red undertone, not mauve or purple.

I also don't want recommendations from the Mars Swiss Beauty lipsticks cos it cause pigmentation.

Any product recommendations or lip combos that give this vibe? below700 are both fine!

Girlies of Trivandrum, where are y'all buying cute classy kurtis/kurti sets?

I recently moved back to Trivandrum and I swear every shopping trip somehow ends at Lulu :) I love it but I feel like I'm seeing the same brands and the same styles every single time.

I'm looking for places that have really pretty, classy kurti sets , good cotton or linen, earthy colours, minimal embroidery, Ajrakh/block prints... basically that effortless, elegant vibe instead of loud prints or super festive stuff.

I just want outfits that make me look like I have my life together. Think college, cafes, family outings, future office wear just versatile pieces that don't look mass-produced.

Please drop your favourite boutiques, hidden gems, exhibitions, or even Kerala based Insta stores if they're actually worth it. I'm so done with the Lulu loop.

Adding a few Pinterest inspo pics because I'm terrible at explaining the vibe I'm going for.

Budget-friendly powder recommendations? I'm so confused 😭 (Kerala humidity edition)

I'm a broke college student and I really need some help. 😭

I only wear concealer for my base, but the moment I step out (I live in Kerala, so it's super humid), my face starts looking dull and darker after a while. I just want to look fresh and put together for a few hours.

I'm confused about powders in general. What's the difference between compact powder, loose powder, banana powder, and setting powder? Which one do I actually need if I only wear concealer?

I was looking at a few options (attached pics), including the Maybelline Fit Me loose powder (which i forgot to attach), but I have no idea which one is worth buying.

If you've got other budget friendly recommendations (under ₹700 if possible), please help a girl out. 😭 Also, if you live somewhere humid like Kerala, I'd love to know what works for you.

hair type – 2c/3a, low porosity

Need some advice for my Hair type – 2c/3a low-porosity curls. I've been trying to figure this out for so long 🥹

I've been trying to find a routine that actually works for my hair for the longest time, but I still feel like I'm missing something. I would really appreciate some advice from people with a similar hair type.

I live in Kerala, so humidity is something I deal with almost every day.

My current routine:

  • Shampoo: Plum Coconut Milk & Peptides Shampoo
  • Conditioner: Matrix (orange one)
  • Styling: Arata Curl Cream + Gatsby Gel

Right after styling, my curls look really nice and defined. But after a few hours, especially after going outside, they slowly lose their definition and become more wavy. I do get some frizz, but my main issue is that my curls don't stay defined throughout the day.

I've read that low-porosity hair may do better with a lightweight leave-in conditioner instead of a curl cream, but I'm not sure if that's actually true. I'm wondering if I should replace my curl cream, my gel, or maybe both.

Since the Nykaa sale is on, I thought this would be a good time to pick up a few products.

I would really appreciate recommendations for:

  • A good leave-in conditioner or curl cream
  • A strong-hold gel that works well in humid weather
  • Products that suit 2C/3A low-porosity hair
  • Budget-friendly options, if possible

My college starts soon, so I would love to find a routine that keeps my curls defined for longer.

Thank you so much for reading! I would really appreciate any suggestions, tips, or product combinations that have worked for you. 🤍

Kay Beauty 175Y Tan shade reference for medium-tan warm skin

Hey everyone, I’m planning to buy the Kay Beauty Concealer in 175Y Tan and wanted some shade references before purchasing.

My skin tone is medium-tan (leaning more towards tan) with a warm undertone. I also tan easily, and since I live in Kerala’s humid weather, my skin can look a little deeper depending on the time of year.

Has anyone with a similar skin tone and undertone tried 175Y Tan? How does it look on your skin, and does it blend in well?

Also, if 160N Medium or 170P Tan work for your skin tone, I’d love to hear your experience with those shades too. Please mention your foundation/concealer shade or undertone for reference if possible.

How does the concealer hold up in humid weather? Does it oxidize, crease, or separate after a few hours?
