I guilt-tripped a restaurant chettan 🥲🥲

So I was having a normal day… except I’m on my period. I was craving beef so badly, but my mom had made chicken at home, and I’m not really a fan of chicken.

As usual, she guilt-tripped me saying, “Veetil food ondallo, purath ninn vangunnath over ahankaaram aan.” 😭

But I was starving, cramping, and it was one of those cravings I just couldn’t ignore.
The funniest part? It’s month-end and I’m broke AF. I literally had to beg my mom for money. 😭
I ordered beef chilli with naan and added 3 kuboos because all I could think about for the next 43 minutes was dipping that kuboos into the beef.

After waiting 43 minutes, the package finally arrived…
Only to find out there was NO KUBOOS.
At that moment, my biggest concern wasn’t even the missing food. It was how I was going to tell my mom that the food I begged her to buy wasn’t even complete. 💀

I started crying like an actual 5-year-old and called the restaurant. 🤣
They calmly said, “Madam, you can request a refund.”

I completely lost it.
I literally said, “Chetta, vishannirikkumbo ingane oo€^bitharam parayalle…” and burst into tears literally pottikarayal before hanging up, that chettan felt bad, said sorry 😭🤣

On any normal day, I would’ve just taken the refund and moved on. But today? They played me. That naan alone wasn’t enough, I was still starving, and I wasn’t in a situation where I could go out and buy something else.

So… I had to ask my mom to go to the nearby supermarket and get some bread.
She turned into Steffy Sunny’s and Patti Joel’s mom combined. 😭 I cried even harder, and she had no other option but to go.

Finally ate the bread with the beef chilli… and the satisfaction after that first bite? Unmatched.
when people say periods are no joke, believe them. I guilt-tripped a restaurant chettan, cried to my mom, and had a full emotional breakdown… all because of 3 missing kuboos. 😭

I noticed there wasn’t a dedicated space for Malayalis to discuss fashion, streetwear, sneakers, sarees, jewelry, grooming, outfit inspiration, thrift finds, and local fashion trends.
So I created r/pillerdeoropaashione

Feel free to join if that’s something you’re interested in. Would also love suggestions on what you’d like to see there!

Im feeling heavy 🙂

Watched Karuppu just for Indrans’ part!! Man, I’m feeling heavy.
As someone from a middle-class family, I could really relate to most of the scenes about how people take them for granted. I was crying during all those scenes 🙂. We live in a cruel world 🫡. Just wanted to vent it out somewhere.

It reminded me of the times when my mom struggled after someone scammed us.
When I was 4 years old, I still remember my mom crying hard in a corner of our house. During those days, we lived in an oditta veedu, so whenever it rained, water would pour into a part of our kitchen. My mother’s dream was a home with a proper roof ,I still remember parts of that old house.

It was around that time when my eldest brother, who was around 18 years old, asked for money to go to the Gulf so that we could sort things out. My father had come back from the Gulf by then because he was too lazy to work, and it had caused huge debts.

My mom somehow borrowed money from neighbours and family members, and they all helped. But the agent tricked us and scammed us. My mother broke down. She had nothing left at that time.

My uncle, who had some political connections, suggested filing a police complaint. It was around 2005. We came from a small village, so going to a police station was a big deal, but my mom fought.
She had sleepless nights. I was in LKG then. She would leave me with my grandmother and go deal with the case. I remember her coming home exhausted after long bus wait and journeys. Still, she kept fighting. I remember her drinking just a tea and buying me lime juice from bakeries .
Those were difficult days.
She would go to relatives’ houses to help with postpartum care, look after babies, and do household chores to earn money so all of us could survive.

Meanwhile, my brother managed to go abroad with the help of a kind uncle (forever grateful to him), while the case was still going on. The scammer disappeared and went into hiding.
I remember my mom crying because she had to spend money on a vakkeel using the money my 18-year-old brother earned under the scorching sun.

But she fought hard.
The scammer’s place was very far away, and my mom and uncle tracked him down. After receiving a court notice, he finally surrendered after a long time. We were able to seize his car, and we won the case.
Everyone was proud of my mom for being so resilient.

A few years later, my brother built our house when he was just 21 years old. My mom is still so proud of her son. She never lost her faith or her prayers during those difficult times.
She always taught me, “Vanna vazhi nammal orikkalum marakkaruth.”
My brother always says that it was only because of my mom’s strength and prayers that we made it through.

Yes, we still have struggles. But today we have a shelter, clean food and water, and stable jobs.
My mom always says:
“This is life. Life aavumbo uyarchayum thazhchayum kaanum. We have to go through it.”

So, as someone who grew up watching all those struggles, I genuinely feel pity for people who scam others. That UK issue really hit me hard.
For them, it’s easy money. But on the other side, there are years of struggle, tears, sleepless nights, and families trying to survive.
Please be kind enough not to scam people out of their hard-earned money.

Solo female coming to Thrissur for a wedding, need advice!

Hi everyone,
I’m coming to Thrissur next month for a friend’s wedding and will be staying for 2 nights. As a woman traveling alone, I wanted to know how safe Thrissur is, especially during the evening and night hours.
A few questions:
Is it generally safe for women to travel around the city alone?
Are Uber or other app-based cabs available at night?
Any areas I should avoid or be extra cautious about?
Can you recommend some decent places to stay?
My budget is around ₹4,000 for 2 nights (roughly ₹2,000 per night). I’m mainly looking for a clean, safe place with easy access to transportation.

They hurt my ego ! 🥶🥶🥶

So I was at the gym today and something happened that cost me generational aura. 😭

I’m new to strength training and currently taking baby steps. My instructor gave me a workout plan, and today was chest and triceps day. One of the exercises was shoulder internal and external rotations.

I was super confused about how to do it, so I asked one of the instructors (not my PT). He explained it clearly, but my brain simply refused to process the information. I asked again. And again. Meanwhile, my face was apparently doing all sorts of confused NPC expressions.

Two guys, probably in their early 20s, started laughing while looking at me. Then the instructor started laughing too. The whole situation became so absurd that I started laughing as well because honestly, NJn Thanne MAIN CHARACTER 🤡🤡!!

Everything was fine until I got on the treadmill for cardio. Then the overthinking kicked in.

Now my ego is hurt. 😭

My brain has convinced me that those guys think I’m a complete loser who doesn’t know what she’s doing. So naturally, I’ve reached the only logical conclusion:

I need to become hotter.

I’m already hot, but now I need to become the hottest version of myself out of pure spite.

Gym people of Coconaad, what are your best glow-up tips? Fitness, skincare, confidence, style, mindset give me everything. If I’m going to have a villain origin story, I might as well come out looking incredible.

People who are bad at maths, how’s life? 😭

None other than maths gave me trauma in my childhood!! I always cried when I didn’t understand some shitty formulas!! My mom would take me to n number of tuitions, and I always struggled with my low IQ 😭😭!!

I don’t even know the tables now. The thing is, I was absent on that day in 2nd standard. After that, everything was a mess!! 😭😭

I still count with my fingers and toes if a calculator is not there!! I do subtraction in my mind by taking kadam edukkal 😭😭

Mahn, life is hell with maths!! It didn’t end there. The worst part that scares me is dilution!! Yes mahn, everything comes back to maths!!

I always admire people who can do maths quickly and sharply. 😭😭
