Hey yall, while cleaning a bit, I just realized my driver side door trim is a little loose. After some investigation, one of the white/blue clips fell out and would not go back in. Do these retaining clips wear out over time? Even if the trim panel hasn’t been removed? Just asking before I order all 9 😆
I gotta say.. I think the plaid pulls it off better 🥶

Wild how the S still looks just as new as the Y. I really hope the roadster gets some inspiration from those thin lasery headlights they put on the Y! I’ll pass on the light bar😆
This is a model S group so gonna keep it to that perspective - helped my friend take delivery of his new car today, bussed him there in (you know it) my S Plaid. Sick spec what he got, shown in pics next to my msp. I got to drive it, compared to the plaid - wow seats are just mini plaid seats 🤣 to my surprise - he insisted the honors of its first launch. Fun stuff!
I dropped a full long form video getting his car, we took the plaid there, did the whole shabang, fun process to document. Ugh, nostalgia. Got some food after and went for a drive, Delivery day always hits hard.
Beautiful day out for a delivery day too. We got rollers of it, got some food, hit some roads to stretch its legs for the first drive and got the cars next to each other and got some pics. It was a fun time. Super pumped for him and a sick spec. Dude is 24 and in a myp!!!
Fresh new frost blue 2026 Tesla model Y performance, white interior 3.99 promo rate, lifetime, premium connectivity (small victories 🤣), not a panel gap out of alignment on the fitment and finish any worse than any of my Porsches have been, aside from where the headlight meets the hood and bumper, but that rubber piece just needed to be fully extended, and we were perfectly flush. 6 miles on the odometer!
With sales tax, tags, reg, we’re looking at roughly 65K out the door USD. Man pictures just don’t do this color justice personally I’m not crazy over metallic colors. I think this car and color would benefit from. No metallic flake in it but boy does she pop IRL!
Between the new second GEN model Y performance and my 2023 first GEN model Y performance obviously this is objectively a better car per se but man I still just love both. What do y’all like better the first GEN or the second GEN model Y and why there’s still something about that OG model Y white trim with carbon and Alcantar interior. I’d say that the exterior on this model Y performance the new one is much more masculine and refined a bit updated the seats. The 2K screen the interior definitely do make it a clear winner in my opinion, but you still can’t go wrong with either. Cheers!
Quick little road trip in the model S plaid this morning I haven’t seen cars for miles so I figured I’d hop out and get some pics here for yall. Man, this car just continues to impress.
The route that I took is a route that I’ve driven soo many times. For this plaid (it’s my third plaid) I believe 33-35k of the 44K miles that I have on this one. Now you would initially think you’d be bored if you drove the same 80 mile stretch each way, hitting it forward and back so many times over the years, 4 days a week. Feels like a new car on a race track every single day. Nope!
As much as I love that 0 to 60, 0 to 100 torque and initial take-off, with the power the plaid has, in my opinion it really has its best fun at the higher unmentionable speeds in unmentionable places. These roads are awesome curling 20 min stretch curves bending left and right back to back to back. I get hype just typing it 😆
I’m really grateful to have found such wicked daily driver to pair with the perfect route for frequent travel. It’s just an incredible experience every time no matter how often you do it. I hope you all have, or are soon to experience this yourself, in any car! Doesn’t have to be a plaid, or something crazy. I’ve had almost as much fun in my Miata back in the day, but not on this route 🤣; different tools for different jobs.

Of course this is an S tier specimen, and not everyone’s car is gonna sell for this price, but with all the right ingredients, this has objectively set a new ceiling for price discovery in the 996 market. Other than mine of course, as I have defiled my beloved car as nature intended, with mileage, modifications, and underglow.. just kidding about the underglow.
Regardless, this is great to see. I’ve no plans of offloading my manual turbo anytime soon, but it sure is something cool to watch. Market top signals are blooming perhaps? 🤣🍿

It appears we have something new! At least I have not seen this before. Porsche Austin has developed what looks like a fog light and that egregious chrome washer head delete. Replaced with duct-work. This vent sends air through a duct into the wheel well and points it right at the brakes for additional cooling also makes the headlight look more of a traditional round typical 911 style.
Personally for me, I don’t hate this, but I do love the shape of my 996 turbo’s stock headlights. I definitely like the .2 headlights more than the .1 headlights but I love the shape in general. I do think these would serve better fit on a darker painted car but if you want the ducts to be seen and desire maybe a more track aggressive look, on a lighter colored car maybe this is more your flavor.
I’m all for functional improvements and for a track build, this is awesome. As much as I fully welcome the design of the 996, and think all owners of these cars should, If there’s anyway to make the car look a little more timeless and updated, I cant be a hater! What do you think? I’d love to see what these look like on my MBM 996tt.

Aside from that I’ve been carrying these without any consistent substitution for the entire summer now. I normally switch things up more often. Just replaced the vanilla flick blade with the 44304 for the bit driver. Onyx Ultra is new and will rotate in with my Green Ultra. LED indicator is yellow now. For those not familiar, the longer you use the ArkPro ultra, the color of that indicator shifts. They named this ‘ArkBeat’. Difficult to capture on camera
7 colors, yellow is the third. A full cycle of the colors takes 254 hours of use and then you can set it to any color you prefer. It starts out as white, then follows: amber, yellow, green, teal, blue, purple. personally, nobody I know has been aware of this lol. Some would say, it’s really cute.

Hey y’all, it’s me again! Surprise surprise, so as much as I love Midnight Blue Metallic on my car, I feel like my immaturity is showing, but I’m just so obsessed with bright vibrant colored cars and it’s making my brain itch when the internal dialogue of my mind wants to do a wildly bright color one one side, and the other, thinking that these 996’s are just meant to be coated in a more mature, understated but beautiful paint code like your forest green or midnight metallic blue ( as shown) or really any.. perhaps more sophisticated option.
I feel like these less wild colors just fit the shape and everything going on with the 996 body style no matter which bumper; OEM, aftermarket, whatever you have aside from the kits (me personally it’s just not my flavor to throw those kits on) I’ve been going for kind of an oem plus look with my cars my whole life and this I would say I’m even pushing it a little bit, but I still think we’re in the OEM plus range.
What colors do you all think I should match up to these hot orange calipers I just did? I think they give the color pop I’m looking for enough, and I can match with something subtle but incredible. I just don’t think what I’d normally instinctually go for, will fit well on my 996.
Don’t get me wrong. I love Rio, Maritime, Miami, Mexico blue - I love lava orange I love all these crazy PTS colors, but there’s just something about the 996 that for me at least just begs for a different part of the palette than your 992, 991 even 997 cars do. Trust me I miss my lizard green 991.2 3RS, but I’m just not sure that that color works on this 996 shape, style, and stature.
I really love all the feedback I’ve been getting on this particular build and this is definitely the first one that I’ve been strongly sharing with Reddit and the rest of the internet from soup to nuts and my initial purchase with the car last year and I’d like to keep that going, so I do genuinely value the opinions of everyone that has given input over the months.. the good and bad 😆 so let’s hear it! Well, well, well look what just showed up in the mail today. I have had a few of the ArkPro and the ultras now just in different color variations totally unnecessary and redundant, but I just can’t help myself. I’m sure most of you can understand. I saw this and I actually got it as a gift for my brother-in-law so I hope he doesn’t see this, but his favorite color is purple and this seemed interesting right up his alley so I snagged this. Wanted to get some beauty shots of it. Share it with y’all before I charge it and box it back up.
I gotta say this color does not photograph as vibrant as it is seeing it IRL how’s everybody else’s holding up I’ve used some Olight WML’s before and was not very happy, but for an EDC strong, magnetic, long, lasting battery stick, flashlight good Lord, I feel like I use my ultra every day at some point once or another, and I feel like I pop it on the charger for a little bit like in the car maybe once every few weeks I don’t know I’m not using it at full brightness all the time but wow, color me impressed with these.

Oh What do you know I’m back replacing more random miscellaneous parts that didn’t really need to be replaced on my 996! Great day out nice breeze, some sun, partly cloudy. 911 to the gym as I always do (most of the time). stopped by a friends house and I noticed that the trim restore I put on my 911 (that stuff never really works long-term) had faded away on the cowling.
Thought to myself well that could look better so I think $200 later it arrived. Did not come with freshcaps so I actually hit the caps with a BIC lighter just to sort of gloss back up the surface (not great to do). These are the covers that go over the screws that hold that down on each side. Can you believe they are $50 a piece 😆I mean it’s Porsche so yeah I guess we all believe it.
Looks much better now, I have a picture of it installed with my wipers backwards, fear not I swapped them back. I thought that was kind of funny that I did that and in that last picture you can see the previous owner rigged up the original cowling. The plastic broke out, which is typical on these in the cowl and they used a ton of silicone sealant or caulk to lock that down at least it was contained it was rather easy to pick at and slowly chip away peace by peace and after a few patient moments here we are back to OEM spec, looking fresh and ready to hit some back roads. Get out and drive!!
Hey y’all, hope you’re having a great week. I was curious if anybody has custom dyed their white interior on their model S. I’m aware that there’s no turning back from this and I was thinking about doing like a Tiffany blue or a bright bright hot orange but I really wanna try it out. I just don’t want die transfer on my clothes and I love how my white interior glows I barely clean it. The shadows in the picture may make it look dirty, but I promise you it’s spotless and it absolutely glows with no shadows over under exposing sections of the material in the seats.
How’s everybody else been with the white interior? I am super satisfied. I also have a model Y performance that I’m not gonna go into detail too because this is a model S sub Reddit, but that glows even more than this does I think it’s the perforations in the seats on my model plaid and the black piping that make it look slightly darker than the model Y first GEN model Y just having this explosive fool on pure white marshmallow seat situation.
Just curious if anybody has ventured into this, I know T sport line Brian Reese does an incredible job doing the custom stuff. I don’t know if they’re dyeing anything maybe that’s someone I should reach out to if he’s in here. Either way. I am super interested in pursuing this myself and documenting it. By the way here’s the other set of wheels.
I have the stainless gloss brushed. Looks incredible. I kind of hated it at first in combination with this wrap color. but who am I learning to love it. Also peep the suede/Alcantara whatever you wanna call it microfiber seatbacks that I installed on my baby. What do you guys think?
Sunset looking too good to pass this up after walking out to my car after dinner with my girl! I’m really thinking about switching up the wrap. What are you all think? Has anyone had any actual like severe issues with their model S plaid because knock on wood I only had one small liftgate the cinch motor and latch I replaced, which was able to do for about 300 bucks 400 bucks myself and when I first took delivery of this plaid, this is my third one the other two were totally fine admittedly I only put a couple thousand miles on each of them. I sold them back when the plaids were hot at first and going for a little bit over MSRP at the time, but I had a trim piece where the carbon fiber is in the plaids driver side door. It was broken during an assembly you could tell and they double sided tape taped it, but that was so long ago and they fixed it relatively quick so I wouldn’t even classify that as an issue necessarily although it never should’ve happened, but it’s all good man. I love this car. I know I say it all the time, but this is the only vehicle that I’ve kept for this long and I’m a gearhead so naturally, I was a little concerned at first whether or not I was gonna like the Tesla platforms good Lord was I wrong for being concerned. Is it just me or do y’all get somewhat excited when you start to see an issue or find problems on your 911s I’ve had plenty of other cars reliable and unreliable and there’s just something about my manual 911 turbo that whenever something goes wrong as long as it’s not my coolant pipes.. which isn’t thaaat big of a deal I’m excited to do an engine out service soon anyway.. so giddy when I find something I can refresh update on the car to other make it drive better know it’s gonna better or just overall be a better more stout vehicle once I perform the work. Airbag light went off and just cleaned the grounds under the seat and we are back up and kicking! Have a good week everyone 🫡
Im way too pumped up with the current state of my plaid and I just had to share it with the Reddit FAM. This is my 2022 model S plaid and good God have I put it through its pieces, countless, launches, countless roll, races, countless drag, races, countless digs on the street, 40,000 miles of daily driving weekend driving road trips short term long-term weekend road trips week long road trips ranging from 400 miles to 3000 miles and I am so impressed with this car the comfort the performance with the wheel fitment, alignment for way tighter cornering and better handling ( even on stock pads) with the weight reduction without any creature comforts being sacrificed the tint, the wrap, lowered. I think the only thing left is to get the module to squeeze some extra horsepower out of this, but I may wait until the battery warranty starts near its end. This car has been pretty stout. I got 91% battery health remaining even at 44,000 miles to be exact and I’ve just been ecstatic about this car I’ve owned plenty of cars that I probably shouldn’t have bought and we’re way too close to my threshold of not being able to afford them, but I’m just a car guy heart and a gearhead and this model S plaid has shockingly scratch the itch for me as well. I’ve never kept a car this long. I’m the single owner of this plaid. It’s my third plaid and I want to keep posting on Reddit a little more in-depth like this. I really like the response over the years with the plaid the community we built up and I’m excited and just curious what you guys want to see more as far as longform video essay style or Vlogs lifestyle type content with the plaid I don’t want it to get redundant so I’m just looking to see what more people want to see with the plaid, any prospective owners or fellow owners what are your biggest questions concerns comments let me know down below, thanks guys.
