Two weeks in Austria, Slovenia and Hungary in August

My wife and I (both 29)will be visiting Europe for 2 weeks in mid Aug and this is our plan:
Day 1-4(3N): Vienna. Maybe do a day trip to Bratislava when we get time
Day 4-6(2N): Salzburg. Take the train from Vienna(obb or westbahn)
Day 6-7(1N): Hallstatt stay
Day 7-8(1N): Bled
Day 8-10(2N) : Ljubljana. Overnight flixbus to Budapest
Day 11-14(4N): Budapest(Nothing planned)

How does this look as an overall route?
We were thinking of renting a car from Salzburg and returning the car in Ljubljana but it’s turning out to be very expensive as it’s cross-border.
What are alternative ways to get to Bled from Hallstatt? Should we move around anything or cut down days in Budapest? Or does Budapest have enough to do for 4 nights.
All our hotels are cancellable.
Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance

Smartbuy prices way higher than airlines

Was thinking of booking return flights to Eastern Europe from Mumbai and i see rate on Emirates official website at 1.4L for 2
Same flight on Smartbuy is showing 2.22L for 2
What is going on here? And does it even make sense to use smartbuy just to get 2000 extra points using regalia gold with a 80k cash difference?

Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan 12 night trip in Aug

Hi everyone! My wife and I are planning a Kazakhstan + Kyrgyzstan trip in mid August and wanted some feedback specifically on the Kyrgyzstan part of the itinerary from locals/recent travellers.

Current itinerary:
• Day 1: Fly into Almaty, Kok Tobe in the evening
• Day 2: Almaty city - Green Bazaar, Panfilov Park, Zenkov Cathedral
• Day 3: Charyn Canyon full day trip
• Day 4: Kaindy Lake + Kolsai Lakes
• Day 5: Big Almaty Lake + Medeu + Shymbulak
• Day 6: Almaty → Bishkek via Korday border
• Day 7: Ala Archa hike, then drive to Karakol via Issyk Kul north shore
• Day 8: Jeti Oguz + Fairy Tale Canyon from Karakol
• Day 9: South shore drive, eagle hunting at Bokonbaevo, overnight at Kochkor
• Day 10: Drive to Son Kul, horse riding + yurt stay
• Day 11: Son Kul sunrise, drive back to Bishkek
• Day 12: Free day in Bishkek and fly out

A few things we wanted advice on:
1)Does the Kyrgyzstan portion sound reasonably paced or are we trying to squeeze in too much?

  1. Son Kul in August - any recommended drivers/tour operators? Also wanted honest opinions on the yurt stay experience (toilets, cold nights, altitude etc.)

  2. How difficult is food outside Bishkek and Karakol for non-beef eaters? We’re okay with chicken/lamb.
Would you recommend hiring drivers throughout Kyrgyzstan or is self-drive manageable for first timers?

  3. Any must-do stops, hidden gems or things you’d skip/change in this route?

Would really appreciate any tips/suggestions.

Used gpt :)

Kazakhstan Kyrgyzstan 12 days in Aug

Hi! My wife and I are planning a 12-night trip in mid August to Kazakhstan + Kyrgyzstan and wanted some feedback from people who’ve done a similar route recently.
We’re in our late 20s and flying from Mumbai.
Itinerary:
• Day 1: Fly Mumbai → Almaty, Kok Tobe in the evening
• Day 2: Almaty city - Green Bazaar, Panfilov Park, Zenkov Cathedral
• Day 3: Charyn Canyon full day trip
• Day 4: Kaindy Lake + Kolsai Lakes full day
• Day 5: Big Almaty Lake + Medeu + Shymbulak gondola
• Day 6: Shared taxi Almaty → Bishkek via Korday border
• Day 7: Ala Archa hike, then drive to Karakol via Issyk Kul north shore
• Day 8: Jeti Oguz + Fairy Tale Canyon from Karakol
• Day 9: South shore drive, eagle hunting at Bokonbaevo, overnight at Kochkor
• Day 10: Drive to Son Kul, horse riding + yurt stay
• Day 11: Son Kul sunrise, drive back to Bishkek
• Day 12: Free day in Bishkek, evening flight home

A few things we’re specifically confused about:

  1. Is Kaindy + Kolsai realistic as a day trip from Almaty or will it become too rushed? Would an overnight stay around Saty make more sense?
  2. Food outside Bishkek/Karakol - how difficult was it to manage? We don’t eat beef but are okay with chicken/lamb. Any dishes we should specifically try/avoid? Helpful Russian phrases?
  3. How smooth is the Korday border crossing for Indian passport holders with a Kyrgyzstan e-visa? Anything we should keep in mind?
4)Son Kul in August - any recommended operators? Also wanted honest opinions on the yurt stay experience: toilets, cold at night, altitude issues etc.
5)Would you recommend hiring drivers throughout Kyrgyzstan or is self-drive manageable for first timers?
    6)Anything in this itinerary you’d skip/change/add?

We’re also slightly unsure whether Kyrgyzstan is worth doing for a first Central Asia trip or if we should just do Uzbekistan instead this time.

Kazakhstan Kyrgyzstan 12 days in Aug

Hi! My wife and I (late 20s, Mumbai) are planning a 12-night trip in mid August. We would love feedback on our itinerary and specific concerns below from people that have visited these countries.

Itinerary:
Day 1 : Fly Mumbai → Almaty, Kok Tobe evening
Day 2: Almaty city - Green Bazaar, Panfilov Park, Zenkov Cathedral
Day 3: Charyn Canyon full day trip
Day 4: Kaindy Lake + Kolsai Lakes full day
Day 5: Big Almaty Lake + Medeu + Shymbulak gondola
Day 6: Shared taxi Almaty → Bishkek via Korday border
Day 7: Ala Archa gorge hike, drive to Karakol via Issyk-Kul north shore
Day 8: Jeti-Oguz + Fairy Tale Canyon day trips from Karakol
Day 9: South shore drive, eagle hunting Bokonbaevo, overnight Kochkor
Day 10: Drive up to Son Kul (3016m), horse ride, yurt night
Day 11: Son Kul sunrise, drive back to Bishkek
Day 12: Free day Bishkek, fly home evening

Our specific questions:

**1.**	Is Day 4 (Kaindy + Kolsai) doable in one day from Almaty, or are we being too ambitious? Worth staying overnight in Sati village instead?
**2.	Food -** how did you manage food outside Bishkek and Karakol? Any specific dishes or phrases in Russian that helped? We don’t have beef but are okay with other meat
**3.**	Is the Korday border crossing straightforward for Indian passport holders with a Kyrgyzstan e-visa? Any tips or things to watch out for?
**4.**	Son Kul in August - What operator to book this with? How was the yurt experience honestly (toilet situation, cold nights, altitude)?
**5.**	Is hiring private drivers the right call throughout Kyrgyzstan or is self-drive manageable for first-timers?
**6.**	Any must-dos we’ve missed or anything we should cut?

We are concerned about Kyrgyzstan and confused whether we should pick Uzbekistan instead

Best card to get post salary crossing 3L PM

Age: 29, married. Cibil: 763. I've got an offer where my monthly in-hand will cross 3L PM from August onwards.
Major spends - Rent in mumbai(65K) Groceries(15K), Fuel, Travel - 2 international trips a year minimum
Preference: Reward points to redeem on travel.

Current stack: Mainly using Regalia Gold as primary card with HDFC Tata Neu/Swiggy for Tata/Swiggy but not able to extract much value from these. I closed Amex Plat charge a year back cause i couldn't justify the annual fees. Thinking of upgrading to DCBM but not sure if that should be my primary card

3N trip to Wayanad in June

My wife and I are planning to come to Wayanad for 3 nights from Mumbai in 3rd week of June. Flying to and from Kannur.
Planning to stay one night in Mountain Shadows and not leave the property
Thinking of staying 2N elsewhere and working from there on our laptops. What all must do tourist spots should we cover and where should we stay for those 2N nights to get good internet and be centrally located?
Will any tourist spots even be open in peak monsoon? How should we travel around ?

Hotel recommendations for Wayanad to club with Mountain Shadows

Thinking of travelling to Wayanad with my wife in June from Mumbai for 3-4nights and we want to stay at Mountain Shadows for a night. However, spending 3-4 days there seems a little expensive. What are the other good options to stay with view if we don’t mind moving around? Is there much to do at Wayanad ? We plan to work from there as well
