Pulled the trigger on the upper, now building a lower.

So I was introduced to this .458 world since I had an issue with my 46cal suppressor only fitting 1 gun. That just didn’t seem right, and 45-70 doesn’t come on a AR frame under $5k. SO, this is the start of my build. I put my Ruger lower on it just to give it an idea. Here’s a parts list for the upper.

Faxon Duty Series 10.5", Gunner Big Bore, .458 Socom, Pistol Gas, 4150, Nitride AR-15 Barrel
Faxon Firearms AR-10.750 3 Screw Low Profile Gas Block
Spike's Tactical AR-15 Melonited Black Mil Spec Gas Tubes
Nickel Boron KM 450 Bushmaster/458 Socom AR-15 Bolt Carrier Group BCG
Breek Arms Warhammer Mod2 AR-15 Ambidextrous Charging Handle
YANKEE HILL MACHINE CO. AR-15 MR7 9.29" Mid-Length Handguard M-LOK Black
SLR Rifle Works : M-LOK Handstop Mod 4
HOLOSUN 510C & HM3X Combo
JK Armament RPX 155 46cal suppressor

I’ve got the following parts coming in the mail this week.

Wilson Combat stripped lower
Armaspec AR15 GEN4 BB Stealth Recoil Spring Buffer Kit
Strike Industries Enhanced AR-15 Lower Parts Kit
RISE Armament Rave 140 AR Drop-In Trigger
Adaptive Tactical AR-15 EX Performance Adjustable Stock
And some Black Butterfly rounds because hot damn I didn’t check the price on rounds

With this and my 45-70, I will be getting into reloading soon.

Don’t judge.

So I’m sure some won’t agree but I don’t care. I’m looking for a safe secluded place to take my very young daughter to shoot her little .22 Cricket rifle. She has shown a lot of interest in it but I will not take her to the local shooting ranges. Waaay too many bigger caliber firearms and people I don’t trust. Looking for ideas. The mini rifle is about as loud as a fire cracker and shoots a bullet smaller than an average sweet pea for those not familiar with firearms. If anyone knows of a farm or a multi acre property in the Virginia Beach area that would accommodate us it would be greatly appreciated!

Yay or nay

Would like to get into reloading. Is this a steal for a starter pack or am I going to buy a bunch of junk?

Bang bang

Dos and donts. This is the stuff they took out of workout supplements about 15yrs ago. Jack3d had about 25mg per scoop in it. They sent a very small scoop along with the container but I will check and recheck with a scale. Anyone tried this lab or supplement in its pure form?

“jUsT a CoUpLe WhAcKs”😑

Every instruction book, YouTube video, and AI suggestion said just a few whacks with a punch and hammer would get this dovetail out. Having to break out a cutting wheel on a brand new rifle is not ideal, but it’s done and installed. Almost had to completely cut it in half to get it to budge.

Why so serious?

Just traded a bar of silver for this bad boy. It’s laminate stock and fore grip so I don’t feel bad about replacing those parts. These are the add ons I have on the way. Gotta have the see through scope mounts to still use the iron sights. That being said, I’ve seen some hate for WOOX furniture on here. Anyone explain why? I have the old 30-30 that I posted a while back so the antique will stay original.

It happened!

With a few extra steps involved, I traded my bar of silver (with enough left over for a scope that’s on the way) for my dream cowboy rifle! (45-70 if there’s any gun nuts in here) Thanks for the words of encouragement!

Sent package to GA day, then sent another to Washington (almost the opposite side of the country) the day after. Both went through Charlotte.

About 21yrs ago when I was 10, I seen a lever action on an old western my grandfather was watching. I just had to have one. Hyper fixated for weeks. We ended up at a flea market and he was done listening to me about it so he went out and found this gem. It’s been one of my prized possessions ever since. He passed away this past January so it’s now even more close to my heart.

After joining this page I have found these “space cowboy” builds, along with another hyper fixation. I’m in the process of finding a Marlin 1895 45-70 to tear apart and build my own.

Anyone have some info on this rifle? Year made and all that.

Took 29oz in to a pawn/gun shop here in Virginia yesterday looking to do some trading for a lever action rifle that I’ve been wanting. The Scottsdale could’ve been an even trade alone.

He asked what I was wanting out of them and I gave him the ol “Well spot price is 76 right now and I’m sure you’re gonna want to get them for under spot, and then you’re gonna put a premium on them to resell. So what will you offer.”……

Most he could do was $50 an oz…. 😂😂😂

I just laughed and reached across the counter and grabbed my things and said have a nice day. He started to stutter and and asked what I thought I could get out of them. I was even kind and said I could probably get $68 an oz at the jeweler down the road. He said his smelters weren’t even paying that. BROTHER, THIS AINT SCRAP. Anyway, be looking for this post on PMForSale later.

I just wanted to be a cowboy and buy a lever action with silver 😑
