Options for brother for college or similar?

Hello. My brother will be 18 early next year and has been diagnosed with autism for a while now. He lives in Yorkshire with our parents and siblings. He’s never really had what I feel is the support he needs at school, but I don’t know how he feels about that. I don’t want to give out all his details but he has problems with his toileting and definitely isn’t the best with social cues, personal hygiene, understanding values of money/time, and has almost no sense of danger. He does come across to most people as a bit strange but probably more so as an angsty teen boy.

He is doing a computer course at college that has come to an end, he was hoping to move onto the next level but in his gcse resit he got a 1 in his English. So he cannot do the next level. I don’t want to sound rude but I don’t think he ever does particularly great in exams. He also struggles with new travel routes and busy buses.

I think he needs some kind of one to one support that probably doesn’t exist in terms of schools. My mum has lots of children and they are low income so the options are limited further by that. He likes art, science, computers and I’d love if there were any options anyone could offer? I realise college is probably a difficult option for him with non passing gcse grades. Me and his other older sibling both think we could be autistic but haven’t been assessed- we both did very well in school on paper. Now I am self employed and other sibling is at uni doing quantum physics. My mum never wants him to feel alone or super different to the rest of us and he has been depressed about “bad” gcse results before. I just want to offer him any help or options that I can. He likes school, it would be a shame if it ends here for him.

Anyone else get ill?

I heard there was a dodgy noodle place but not heard of any repeats of the Yorkshire puddings. Personally I was perfectly fine until last night and I’ve been vomming every hour, feel that’s more down to tiredness and the heat. Ate fairly plain and drank loads of water with electrolyte tablets. Just wanting to complain and bond cos I’m feeling sorry for myself.

Any good places for cards in Nottingham?

Hey, I live near Nottingham and manage to occasionally get boosters at my local one stop or tg jones but not very often. I wondered if anywhere in Notts is good (I know it’ll be busier) as I’ll be over on Friday?

Anyone actually using Mobilityways?

I made an account and added a journey as it was mentioned by download and I thought why not tbf, I’m dependent on public transport to and from Nottingham, but no luck using it so far. Maybe it’s just me.

What shoes are we wearing?

Been to download twice (not last year as I was heavily pregnant). This year we are staying in a hotel in Notts and getting train & bus over the weekend. I used to wear my old docs but I wore them out. I was thinking of getting a second hand pair of pleather knee high boots but not sure if I should just go wellies? Feel like my feet would get cold in the wellies, especially as I’m anaemic. Ty guys :)

The artists I enjoy and plan on seeing this year are: Architects, babymetal, bad omens, dinosaur pile up, drain, kublai khan, limp bizkit, snot, the plot in you, thornhill and thrown.
Thanks all :)
