Hi so i just wanna ask people in this sub do you believe micheal even had a fair chance?

i believe during the bad era he had attempted to get therapy several times but was exploited and leak to the press, i dont necessarily blame the therapist sure it was scummy but the amount of money each recording or image at the time would of been ridiculous.

i think mj realized alot of things about himself during the bad era he was pushing 30 was living on his own and started to really express himself within his appearance with eyeliner and such i personally believed he sought to share this his internalized racism sexuality etc but each time he did he was used and discarded or maybe he would of preferred a therapist that would never push back and validate his narcissism either way i think that attempt at TRYING to understand yourself and getting shut down immediately definitely would of impacted him he probably would understand he could never talk about the things that really bothered him and if he was a pedophile they would of ran to the press i understand how he started to use kids as therapy in his messed up mind kids would of actually viewed mike as human but of course we know how that went and he probably died thinking he didnt do anything wrong so sad

Now listen before i start i am obviously black man myself this is why i can confidently say that micheal jackson was obsessed with whiteness

im from the UK i was born to african parents, my dad was cameroon and my mom was from zimbabwe, that makes me a 2nd gen immigrant because our family struggled with money and cultural barries they never bothered to teach me about racism or what not nor the history surrounding it they had never really experienced it growing up so i had people even kids my ages calling me a n*gga despite me not even knowing what it meant experiencing predjuce without knowing why except for looking different, i started straightening my hair and later on i used textures (s curl that loosens your afro hair) js to blend in, the idea of me getting shipped with another black girl would make me angry and id make up for my blackness with being intelligent scoring high, talking softly and making myself small on purpose since i was much bigger then the other kids and being on my best behaviour i was obsessed with having a perfect image and when that image was threatened id break down crying if i swore on accident did anything to offend anyone i would break down hysterically teachers would have to tell me to calm down they didnt get it

now that im grown i can see the same patterns in MJ, he has 3 white children hated his nose and lips, wore straight and curly hair and overall wanted to erase his blackness through partners such as lisa marie and if we look at the jackson 5 today they all had that antiblack sentiment beat into them by joe, joe had it himself its not even just him kanye, diana ross our black icons are obsessed with whiteness and assimilation and i dont even blame him tbh its kinda sad how he never loved himself im 19 i was born in 06 way more progressive then 59 i could only imagine what it felt to be black at the time and its bad now couldnt of been good in the 70's and 80's either and i respect him
for breaking down cultural barries for people like me but lmao id never start wearing straight wigs if my skin turned white tomorrow i'll tell you that and unironically that jerhi curl being highly flammable was the reason for the start of his addiction his anti blackness killed him in the end

Hi im a black man im 19 years old, about a year ago i left christianity and realized all the misogyny homophobia and hatred that that religion promoted. I think one of the most interesting things is that id never would of considered myself a misogynist or a homophobe until i deconstructed, and i think this represents alot of men or people who have privilege for example white people, you think ur not homophobic (racist) or what not because you dont say slurs or you dont call women b*tches but to be honest alot of its subconscious for example overly wanting your girl to have your last name, caring about body count etc etc i was never even insecure and when i look back i never truly believed what i was taught i was just in a serious echo chamber the madonna whore complex i looked at truly awakened my mind and how id put certain women on a pedestal while others were just eh, and again im in the black community so you could only IMAGINE what i grew up hearing i seemed like a angel in comparison and often id get called gay because i never overtly disrespected women and even back then treated them with respect could be polite etc and was often into art, I even experienced my own mother reinforcing gender stereotypes onto me, its taken alot to break out and even now im not fully done, i still feel a compelling need to defend men as i think its a reflection of me again maybe this is due to my race too i almost feel complaints everywhere from my own identity and again i dont even benefit from the patriarchy,im just here wondering if theres any books you guys reccomend or videos, as of recent i love watching commentary videos on pop culture made by black women specifically but all different types something as simple as that has done wonders in understanding the patriarchy and mens place in it.

Also wondering again how do i support my own, seeing as MY understanding of feminism mostly means white women benefit the most while POC are left with the scraps as usual, i love malcom and mlk and malcom claimed that liberal/feminism isnt enough radicalisation is needed to destroy and rebuild the system from the ground up so it is TRULY equal for all

again im here to learn id appreciate any honesty critiques etc hopefully this is the right subreddit for this might plan and posting this elsewhere if not sorry if this is sloppy at the gym and had a thought id like to share my recent leaving of my religion and found mindsets has left my with no friends i can relate too or talk to about this thank you
