What was the reason for V to torture Evey and to be so cruel?

Just read past book 2 and I'm beginning book 3. I don't think I understand why V had to torture Evey like that in the fake prison. In his own words he wanted to free her from "prison" which I guess refers to life.

But is that life in general? Your feelings, the people around you? You have to let that go to be truly free? Or is it referring to the life people lead under the fascist regime? Like is Evey supposed to be an illustration of how people live under such regimes. Scared to do the right thing, having their freedom taken away and not doing anything about it? Betraying their principles to survive? So V pushes her to the point where she wouldn't fear dying and would prefer to not betray her principles?

I don't get it. Can someone explain what that whole sequence is supposed to mean.

Which is more important to look at if you're buying a sports car:grounad clearance or the height of the front and rare bumper?

I'm really confused on this one. My country doesn't have the best roads. I've been looking into Corvettes and I'm getting really confused. For example the C3 looks really high but has a lower ground clearance than something like the C5 and C8 who look like they're kissing the ground.

Ground clearance from what I've read is supposed to be measured from the lowest point of the car. So which is more important to look at? The much better height of the bumpers of the C3 or the better ground clearance of the C8? Aren't bumpers more important since they'd allow you to pass through something like a speed bump?

Between the C4 and the C5 which car stands taller and can be driven on bad roads?

This probably sounds really dumb but let me give you some context. I just love those cars. Specifically the C3, 4 and 5 and I have decided that I'll own one. Problem is that I live in Europe and in my country the roads are pretty bad. Some have potholes, we have curbs that are pretty high (for these cars at least) everywhere and some bumps here and there. Of course don't imagine that literally every street has 5 meter bumps and curbs and deep potholes. We drive normally with regular cars.

My question is between the C4 and 5 which do you think has the capacity to perform better in such conditions and which car stands higher than the other especially on the front? I know someone will probably say if you have bad roads than don't buy low sport/muscle cars but the thing is I really want to own a Vette. I have accepted that I may total the car on day 1 but it would make me so happy to own and drive one even for a day that I have accepted the risk. I also plan to lift the car just a little bit and probably get specific tires that can also add a little bit of high.

I also have a regular car that I'll use when I know that I'm going somewhere where the road is really bad.

Between Spectacular Spider-Man by Dematteis and The Walking Dead compendiums 1-3 which should I get?

I have been reading TASM lately and I'm on vol 3 and I plan to go to vol 5 and I've heard great things about the Dematteis run. For the price I'll pay for that I can get the 3 TWD compendiums which means I'll be getting vol 4 later.

So between them what should I get?

Are there others who still love and enjoy Pixar movies as adults?

I'm 24 and I've been rewatching the movies recently. And I got to say that I love those movies even though they're for kids. And I don't just talk about the movies I grew up with. I'm watching some of the new ones for the first time and I'm enjoying them.

I'm wondering how old are people here? Are there any adults who like those movies? I feel like in some places around the world there's this believe that animation is only for kids. But I think a lot of the Pixar movies are better written and more mature than a lot of live action stuff. Or just just stuff that is for adults.

Why is Incredibles 2 so tonally inconsistent with the first movie?

I recently rewatched the 2 Incredibles movies and it's bizarre how different the tone is in each one. The first one feels a little bit more grounded, darker, serious and mature with some ounces of humor that also felt very adult and mature.

Then the second one feels like it's completely the opposite. It felt really bright, colourful, lighthearted, silly and even a little bit cringe at times with some ounces of seriousness here and there.

Why did the tone change so drastically? You can always decide to go in a different direction but you'd think they'd have a reason to do that and I honestly don't see one.

Could ADL lose patience and hire another coach in the end?

So if Max Allegri is confirmed why aren't they announcing it? It's been a few days now and they haven't posted anything on the official channels. What's happening? Is it because Allegri can't come to an agreement with Milan to terminate his contract that he can't sign with us?

Do you think that if he takes too long we might move on to another coach like Italiano?

Girl ghosted me out of nowhere right before I was going to ask her out. How should I proceed?

So I matched with this really well mannered and intelligent woman and we clicked. Our conversations were really good and we got to know each other over text.

She seemed interested. She asked questions about me. When I asked her something she would give long and thoughtful answers. Everything was going so well and I decided that I would ask her out.

We chatted for 2 or 3 days and just before I was going to ask her out she stopped replying. Out of nowhere. We were literally talking about how both of us were introverted and I was saying how I don't like drinking and boom. 1 day passed and no reply.

I went back to the chat a few times and I could see that she has been active. I didn't text again. What's weird is that she hasn't blocked or unmached me. So what happened? I'm pretty sure she was texting with other people at the time so I doubt that she did it because of someone else.

What should I do now? I really liked her. Should I still just send my invitation and see what happens? Should I just ask her what is going on?

I'm asking because normally if I get ghosted they block or unmatch me so I feel weird in this situation.

Any advice on what might be happening and what I should do?

Question about Black Science.

Pretty random but I read this story a couple of months ago and I loved it. However I feel like I don't understand a certain aspect of the story. SPOILERS AHEAD!

So through the comic they constantly play with this idea how the center of the "Onion" is where everything began. How that was the first universe or the first dimension to exist and what could be there.

Somewhere close to the end of the run I remember that they went there. And it was full of these characters that kind of looked like flies or something. And one such character appeared a few times throught the story. So here is where I kind of got confused. So one of those fly looking characters who was the Grant Mckay of that dimension created the Grant Mckay who is the main character in the story to be like a virus for the "Onion" and destroy it. And he did that because many of his people were completely consumed by living in these simulations where they experience the lives of other beings from other dimensions of the "Onion". And Grant basically did fulfill his role by using his Pillar to punch holes through the "Onion" which caused it to collapse.

Do I understand this correctly or? I haven't read it for months but I was always wondering if I understood that part of the story correctly.

Most people don't understand what midichlorians are.

Through the years I've constantly seen people say how midichlorians are the Force or how the Force comes from midichlorians. Even in the Red Letter Media review of TPM Plinket says how George ruined Star Wars by having Qui-Gon explain that the Force is microscopic organisms. And from there people form this nerrative that midichlorians demistify the Force.

Now I don't know why people perpetuate this nerrative but all of this is factually wrong. Midichlorians are not the Force and the Force doesn't come from them. In the movie Qui-Gon says that they are microscopic life forms that live inside the cells. And that through them people can communicate with the Force. They're like a conduit. They're a piece of world building that explains why some people can use the Force and others can't or why someone would be stronger than someone else.

They don't explain what the Force is or where it's coming from. And they don't demistify the Force. If anything Obi-Wan explaining that the Force is an energy field in ANH demistifies it way more than midichlorians.

I don't know why people keep pushing this nerrative and false claims. Didn't they watch the movie? It's literally explained there. And it's not even hard to understand.

Do I need to read some US history to understand and enjoy Redcoat?

I'm from Europe and haven't studied much US history. Watching some Redcoat reviews it seems it has lots of specific time periods and historical figures from these periods. Any recommendations on what I have to know going in
