Am I the only one who's scared to eat now?

Ever since I got diagnosed with gestational diabetes I feel like every meal comes with anxiety.

I'll literally stare at my plate wondering...

  • Is this safe?
  • Is this too much?
  • Is this gonna spike me?
  • Should I eat something else?

I spend way more time thinking about food than actually eating it lol.

Did anyone else go through this at first? Or is it just me?

If you did... what was the thing that confused you the most?

Did anyone wish someone would just tell them what to eat?

Maybe this sounds lazy lol...

But after getting diagnosed I didn't want another article explaining carbs or glycemic index.

I just wanted someone to say...

"Eat this for breakfast."

"Here's a good lunch."

"Here's what to snack on."

Instead I spent hours trying to piece everything together myself.

Was anyone else like this?

What would've made those first couple weeks easier for you?

How do you know who to listen to anymore?

I've looked at Google, Instagram, Pinterest, Reddit...

Everywhere I look I get different answers.

Some people say oatmeal is great.

Others say never eat oatmeal.

Some people eat fruit every day.

Others avoid it completely.

At this point I honestly don't know what's actually safe anymore.

Did anyone else feel overwhelmed by all the different advice?

What finally made things "click" for you?

Does anyone else overthink every single meal?

I swear choosing what to eat has become exhausting.

Breakfast... I overthink it.

Lunch... same thing.

Dinner... same thing.

Snacks too 😭

I feel like I'm constantly making food decisions all day and I'm scared of getting one wrong.

What part of eating has been the hardest for you?

Did anyone else feel completely lost about food after getting diagnosed?

I got diagnosed with gestational diabetes recently and honestly... I feel like food has become the most stressful part of my day.

Every time I'm about to eat I end up asking myself:

  • Is this actually safe?
  • Is this too many carbs?
  • Should I eat more protein?
  • Is this gonna spike my blood sugar?
  • Am I hurting my baby if I get this wrong?

I've spent hours on Google, read so many posts here, looked at different websites... and somehow I'm even more confused 😅

One person says fruit is fine, another says avoid it. One says oatmeal is great, another says it spikes everyone. It feels like every answer is "it depends."

Does anyone else feel like they spend way too much time just trying to figure out what to eat?

What was the hardest part for you after being diagnosed?

What do you wish someone had told you at 2 AM instead of sending you to Google?

Last night I found myself going down another Google rabbit hole after my baby woke up.

One article said my baby was overtired.

Another said undertired.

Another said it was a growth spurt.

Another said it could be sleep regression.

By the time I finished reading, I was even more confused than when I started.

Looking back, I don't think I needed more information.

I think I just needed someone to calmly tell me what was most likely happening and what to try first.

What do you wish someone had told you during those middle-of-the-night moments?

Does anyone else constantly feel like they're doing everything wrong?

I'm a first-time mom to a 9-week-old, and I honestly didn't expect motherhood to feel like this.

Every day I feel like I'm making the wrong decision.

If my baby wakes after 40 minutes... was she overtired?

If I feed her... am I creating a bad habit?

If I don't feed her... is she actually hungry?

One article says "follow wake windows."

Another says "follow sleepy cues."

TikTok tells me one thing, Reddit tells me another, my mom tells me something completely different.

I spend so much time Googling that I barely trust my own instincts anymore.

Sometimes I wonder if every first-time mom feels this way, or if I'm just overthinking everything.

Does it ever get better?

Does anyone else wish there was a simple guide for those middle-of-the-night "What do I do now?" moments?

If there were a simple guide that helped you figure out why your newborn woke up at 2 AM and suggested what to try next, would you actually use it? What would you want it to include?

Am I the only first-time mom who spends more time Googling than actually sleeping?

Every night I ask myself:

  • Is this a sleep regression?
  • Is my baby overtired?
  • Should I feed again?
  • Is this normal?

I feel like every article, TikTok and Reddit comment says something different.

Does anyone else feel like they're drowning in conflicting advice?
