In mid-June I called DISH to ask about when the local stations would be available again. I expected "we don't know" but instead got "they've been available since May 1st". INFURIATING. BTW, this was after buying 3 antennas and having a tech visiting for something else install a $60 antenna-to-Hopper adapter, never getting solid display of the locals, and repeat calls to DISH about the status. If they'd been paying attention they'd have known I wanted a notification.

We're only fluent in English but want to learn French. So, interacting day to day with local French speakers, how hard is it in Oran? Any different than elsewhere?

As an old-timer who, between '98 and now posted approx 24k times to an email list, my blog, and then Facebook, almost all politics, and never once monetized anything, sometimes I miss the old days and sometimes I envy the substackers.

extra context: the IC line crosses my otherwise favored France from Brittany down through Bordeaux. No other crossings or lines there. I'm 80 now and not really looking to "re-invent" my life, just looking for a relaxed and whimsical golden years. For other strategic reasons, partner and others, this area is prominent.

I've had lots of distros boot fine off my Ventoy flash drive. But one froze up after the logo booted and it asked me to select a keyboard. When I asked in their forum the dev said it might be about needing a DD boot.

Americans from Massachusetts. Guayaquil too hot and humid? Cuenca too chilly at night? Drink the tap water? Flush the TP? Afford a nice 2bdrm rental without stairs but allowing a dog? Crime/safety?

Does this depend on the specific app? If I've got locally stored video on my Moto phone, not playing off some network/cloud source, will casting it to my Samsung TV be somehow IDd, flagged or tagged by Google, Moto or Samsung?

I haven't bought the printer yet. Anyone with good experience with 3rd party inks? Which?

I can't go try them on, only online ordering. I wear 9E shoe with a high instep.

I'm not sure what's going on with this. I have home page icons to my own reddit custom groups feed, both from Firefox and Opera, I don't want the reddit app functionality. I want my browsers to open the page. The icons are both branded with the browser. Yet with both, when I tap one I get what ~appears to be the Reddit app. No browser menus or extras.

So I just thought - uninstall reddit to avoid this. Then I discovered I don't have reddit installed!

Or, I dunno, does the R system allow you to EMAIL me?
