It’s been so sad seeing how what used to be an awesome sub that shared things like this song changed to so much anger over yet another war in the holy land.

I just wanted to witness and say I am sorry, I hate it all, I wish that we could all get along. And however naive it seems, I believe that we can.

Look at my post history, especially this one, if you want to see more about why I believe altruism is a real human trait, we can have a conscience and care for one another and our planet instead of making war.

At this point there are so many solutions out there, we all just need to sign on to them and keep our words.

And if anyone doesn’t agree with what I’ve said here, I think they are part of the problem. No more excuses like, “they’ll never stop so I have to.” NO.

I’m sorry for the tough love there but I think we all know what the right thing to do is. Killing each other in these wars does not make sense.

We all have to figure out how we can say no and love each other instead in whatever ways we can do it in our own lives.

And then we can finally get back to sharing photos of our favorite dish.

We have another one of those “peace around the world” attempts, like on a holiday people all over the world meditate at the same time.

I have participated in this before, which has kept me going at times, very heartening and gave me hope. It proved there are good kind people all over the world in every language.

Until they went unheard and nothing changed, even though I know people who went on hunger strikes over it, like this one person i saw in union sq park, nyc not long after 9-11, in the run up to those wars. I wonder, did they die?

But I just can’t help but still have fantasies, maybe one time it will work, everyone will be like The Who’s on Whoville around the world again, but this time enough our voices and prayers are loud enough to be heard!

It’s so loud it makes the hearts of everyone not whooping’s grow three times bigger! Just like for the grinch! Even the politicians and billionaires frowns turns into smiles, and they start toot tooting too!.

Everyone hugs, signs a truce and promises to keep their words. We all start to heal things and implement real solutions.

People would have to keep doing things to clean up their own society, so then people in other countries will see they can do it and be inspired to get their politician’s and billionaires hearts to grow bigger too!

Even among each other, this is how trust is built and why it is so important to act the way you want the world to be.

But no one should wait for anyone else, otherwise it will never happen. That’s why we’re in this forever stalemate just asking for disaster, all because “well
They are so we have to too!”

The only excuse for anyone worldwide not to be signed onto nonproliferation and other fair treaties is if they don’t have access to information to know that we want to stop war and get rid of nukes. Like where the state controls media super tightly.

And that’s why Voice of America should have never been turned off. Why did we have to sue to make Trump turn it back on?

I knew what I was missing, there used to be so many group hugs 🫂 n the dancefloor.

And we used to have massage trains, things like that. It was so much fun!

I had so many great group hugs!

It’d been so long I’d almost forgotten, but I knew something felt hollow and missing inside me on the dancefloors at elements this weekend.

I think this was it maybe. On all the crowded main stages where I danced I saw barely any group activities never mind hugs and massage trains. Everyone was just staring at the dj and screens

No wonder why I was hugging the mask my friend from another party sent me in the mail. I was all alone but thank great raver at least I had my big orange soft head to hug lol

I really did have a great time even if this sounds sad. There were many good moments too I swear , and i did hug a lot of people and make new friends and learned new dances too. I’m happy lol

It just really was jarring, I knew something was missing, at least to me

TLDR: is it a rave if there are intentional intermissions?

So I’ve been “raving” since 1992. I wasn’t really into dubstep after I was invented in the 2000s. My favorite genre are techno, garage house, deep house, acid anything, etc. i’ve been to countless parties over the years. My flyer collection is huge.

All that to give some context to how surprised I was when a new friend convinced me to go to hijinx, a super dubstep party in Philadelphia.

And I was so shocked when at the convention center, in between DJs, they were like full on intermissions!! were they practically played like elevator EDM!

I almost stopped in my tracks like fully jaw dropped. Seriously I tried really hard to remember in all the parties I’ve been to., if they had ever been intentional intermissions like that. And I seriously could not remember a single example.

Like sure there would be fuckuos and technical difficulties, but there was always at least an attempt to switch off from one dj to another.

Then Again, an Elements this weekend there were intermissions again!

And we often have all of these conversations about what is there is not a rave. But from what I remember, I haven’t seen people often. Discuss not having an intermission as a key ingredient of a rave.

I mean, I think it’s such an important factor because the point of the repetitive music going continuously is that you get into the flow and can keep it going for a really long time and get into like a meditative dancing state. So an intermission just seems like a huge no-no to me.

And in fact, I remember an Ultraworld party that Lonnie threw in Baltimore, in a convention center I think something a similar big space. He managed to set up a stage in every of the four corners., and I think one in the middle if I remember, right.

And then each of those stages proceeded to flawlessly go down when then another one turned on. From what I remember, it was almost perfect.

And I remember seeing rabbit in the moon in one of those corners.

Lonnie’s parties were incredible. Now that’s what I call production.

That’s what I’ve been thinking about lately. And I’m wondering what the dancefloor community thoughts are on this topic.

I just had a kind of random thought.

A lot of people will say things like music and dancing, and art are uniquely human traits.

But there actually are documented cases of animals dancing. like bees doing dances to communicate, and grouses doing mating dances in the sage.

Also, how are bird songs not music?

I have studied the question of what makes us human for a long time, so I know the current popular theories that explain it away by saying they are more like robotic instincts so it doesn’t matter.

When humans dance, often for the same purposes, we are somehow different because our consciousness makes it more intentional?

I don’t know I never bought the explanation. I think we may have even learned it from them.

anybody else think about this? I would love to discuss.

Every human has a unique fingerprint and retina

And we all have a unique microbiome

Think about that.

We are all so special and matter so much nature thinks it is that important each of us is totally unique.

All humans are born knowing how to smile across the globe too. Which I think is evolutionary evidence if we have this behavior we can do it and all get along.

It makes evolutionary sense. There’s also research on altruism, we have genes for that too.

And it just makes practical sense, why not spend resources on helping each other in the most efficient ways instead of fighting wars? Wars are such a waste

Why do humans keep killing each other over nothing instead of working together? Why do we keep sacrificing our children and loved ones and land to the battlefield? It’s horrible and should be avoided at all costs.

Instead focus on evidence based conflict resolution and prevention science.

Wars have always been solved by treaties and promises to keep them. So why not just go straight to that part and skip the bombs and landmines?

Of course the trick is keeping those agreements. That’s why it’s so important to live like you want the world to be.

I personally want it to be as nice as possible, I want to be surrounded by love and happy people, a good place for children to grow up. Where people take care of each other and love the good life.

Doesn’t everyone deserve a good life, whatever that means to them? The chance to live and be free while also feeling you belong, safe.

This life is only good if everyone around you has it too. That’s why FOR ALL had to be included in the constitution of the United States I think. And the pursuit of happiness.

Otherwise it’s scary, you can’t trust anyone, it’s all just sad news you have to ignore as you walk past human trash on the sidewalk and read about the latest bombings in Iran.

I think there is plenty of evidence we could be like Star Trek next generation season 1 if we wanted to.

Why don’t we, it makes so much sense to me, I don’t understand why it is any other way.

I just had a thought. What if we all dressed up in our best peace gear over the weekend, at all the celebrations.
You know, like wear lots of peace signs and things.

It’s easy for me, I already have several costumes in this theme over the years. I make the peace signs from pipe cleaners and attach them various places,

Once i was a “man o peace” jelly fish, by hanging a bunch from an umbrella with streamers

I have definitely seen some other people with peace costumes so I think there have got to be others..

Another idea I’ve used before is “power of love” superheroes.

I think I’m going to be a variation on that, with my captain america t-shirt and red superhero gloves. Maybe stick on a few pipe cleaner peace signs and hearts.

I also already have a sign from past protests that lists off a bunch of solutions.

I can update with more later, I’m outside touching grass and want to get off the phone. I just wanted to get it out and see what people thought of the idea. If you like it feel free to share! It would be so awesome if it caught on. And a ton of people did it everywhere

In a nutshell, I matched with a guy who kept texting me multiple times a day but didn’t ask me out. I initiated, we had a nice enough date and then the next day he said he missed me already, kept texting but just good morning, how was your day, generic stuff and one liners.

Despite saying sweet things he slept through a scheduled call time and didn’t reschedule, and didn’t ask me on another date. I did like him so I asked for advice to see if there was something I was missing to explain his behavior as a last ditch effort before I gave up.

The advice helped me figure out how to respond but unfortunately he once again didn’t say anything. So it’s over, I’m done, moving along.

How does the song dna on Spotify not even mention The Bomb by the bucketheads?

I remember The Bomb! Being inescapable in the mid 90’s. Then I went out to two Miami clubs in one day this March (space & factory town) and no lie I heard it played 3 times!!

It’s a catchy tune no doubt but what is it about this song of all the songs in the world that it gets played over and over? Is there a dj rule book that says Chapter 1: make sure you play some version of The Bomb at least once every three sets. 😂
