How to be more consistent (Gun fights, aiming)

Hi everyone. For context I've never played any CoD game. I was lucky I found this one on steam and so far I've been having fun. For context on FPS experience, I've played overwatch for almost a good 500 hours worth and I played the knock off Roblox version of COD called Phantom Forces years ago. I reached level 143.

Despite all that experience I find myself struggling a lot to improve.

I have a lot of questions if you guys are willing to help a new 2-day old player out!

How do you win more gun fights? I feel as if it takes me a lot of bullets to kill 1 person in a 1v1, but they win with 2. It gets frustrating especially seeing how poorly I performed, and I want to know how to do as much damage as the high level players (I'm only level 27 haha). Do they strictly aim for the head? If so, are there any tips to play?

For sensitivity, whats the best sensitivity to play in? I currently use the default 8.00 and I have a logitech mouse with 1600 DPI. Unsure if the high sensitivity is a good thing but I figured to keep it that way so I can turn around if needed. It feels like a fast paced game so putting it to 2 feels really off. (My OW sensitivity was 3.25 but CoD does it differently i guess?) is there a recommended sens if you have high DPI?

(Gunfight related again) How do you do head glitching and strafing? Maybe its really just how the game is but I feel slow when I strafe. I'm unsure if I'm supposed to do it while ADSing but it would help to have tips on strafing more effectively (I strafe into cover but I still end up dying in what feels like nanoseconds)

(added question): how do you guys prefer to play the game? Something aggressive like running head on, sliding when you see an enemy, or do you play safe and cautious? Something like not sprinting often and playing similar to counter strike?

Thank you so much!

Hello, how could I have fought the anran better?

Hi. I'm the same dude that asked how soldier is generally meant to be played. I grew up playing a lot of cod, battlefield, apex legends and pubg so I resonate a lot with playing 76.

However as I previously posted here, I struggle dueling with players that pick dive characters such as tracer, anran, genji, and the like.

I think in this match my initial thoughts was that anran was taking so much space and I didn't do much but shoot the tank. I tried getting a sight on their backline cat and juno but it was difficult to flank because I was kinda scared anran would flank me and I'd die. I think in turn she took space.

In situations like this I'll be honest, I have no idea how to deal with anran and genji. I have a worse time with anran due to the burn

Here are two replay codes

PC172V

CA1T11

For the CA I had no idea how to deal with her because for me she just seems sooo aggressive, like she knew she could kill me and she KNEW i was too inexperienced to do anything.

Once i burned I just kind of...gave up? I don't think you can cleanse away burn unless the supports give up suzu

If you have any advice to improve please let me know, it would greatly help!

How to win more duels as soldier (or is he just not meant to be played in that sense)

Hi so here's my questions about soldier

When dueling, how do you win more duels? Is it raw aim and CD timing or is the dueling aspect of soldier just the wrong way to play him?

> By wrong way of playing, I mean: is he meant to be more of a "shoot when nobody is looking then run once they see you/switch angles"

> Is it the wrong way to play? (As an aggressive-ish soldier)

> Is soldier still viable to rank up with? Because if not I'm willing to play a new character and learn [You can be unbiased here]

> For gold 2 to plat 5, how do you recommend playing soldier?

Explanation:

I have okay aim and I position myself in off angles and flank routes, but I struggle really really BAD against dive characters, examples being anran, GENJI GOD ESPECIALLY THIS, tracer, and just any hero that closes the gap fast. With that lineup in the enemy team I tend to stay closer to the team and I don't really contest angles knowing soldier falls short to those duels

I can hit people with small hitboxes such as kiriko and sojourn, but I have a hard time 1v1ing a soj with rail.

I'm looking for the original title theme song of this game: FUN GAME .EXE

Hi, this might probably be unknown but I wanna try to see if anyone could trace down the song to this game called "FUN GAME. EXE"

Its mainly the title screen music playing in the background. I discovered it through this youtube video by a content creator named toastedcherries.

I think although its short, its really catchy and upbeat and I would love to have this on my playlist during morning jogs or evening walks with my dog.

If you guys know the original track to this song it would be great. Though I'm unsure if its traceable considering this game is kind of obscure? Either way, I'd still shoot my shot here in this subreddit.

I also tried using the google mic and shazam but I'm unsure if I'm using it correctly since only a few seconds of the song played during the youtube video. Shazam wasn't able to catch it.

If you guys know the original track maybe you can let me know. Thank you!

Specifically for Overwatch: Extreme latency issues that jump to 500ms. Is there a fix?

Hi everyone, so I'm specifically asking for the game Overwatch if anyone has similar issues. Currently under PLDT fiber and I've been experiencing extreme latency spikes. It's really really disruptive especially when I'm in a competitive game, and everyone in the match would either freeze or teleport past the ground. Next thing I know, when the latency stabilizes, I'm already dead.

I'm unsure if this is due to the recent heavy rains (in the NCR region, if that helps) that's causing latency issues, but other games such as Apex Legends or Rivals actually works just fine. It has its spikes but its not as severe as Overwatch.

I don't know if its recommendable to manually change the IPv4 or IPv6 to reduce the latency, I'm not really tech savvy. If this is an issue on the end of PLDT, is it recommendable to call their support line? At this point I'm unsure if its a routing issue thats uncontrollable on my part or I'm missing something thats doable to reduce game latency spikes

For a numerical example my latency usually ranges around 16-28ms, then usually when team fights begin it's still stable....then suddenly jumps to 599 ms for maybe 8 seconds?

In those 8 seconds so much has happened when my latency returns its already showing my death cam lol.

For a timeline its been happening for 2 days straight. A day prior matches were actually so disruptive I had to stop playing.

If anyone has a solution to this feel free to share, would be a huge help. Thank you!

Is there any way to predict hair thinning/baldness prior to taking T or avoiding it?

I have really thick hair that I like to take care of and I heard about balding and thinning when taking T.

I still don't have the funds yet but one of my life plans is taking T (since I have bad gender dysphoria and I want to try alleviating it in the future with HRT and top surgery). I just don't have the financial means to attain it but for now, still weighing the pros and cons of being under T.

One of the biggest things I get insecure about is when I hear about balding and the increase in cholesterol.

I did some searches and it said it depends on family genetics. My history is kind of mixed I'd say with one side of the family having a pattern of hair thinning, and the other having hair as thick as a coconut husk even til late 50s.

From your experiences under T, is the alopecia unstoppable and minoxidil is a *must*, or is asking an endocrinologist for a lower dosage on T stop baldness or atleast slows the process down?

Furthermore, does having a certain diet/lifestyle also help you stop the baldness when on T? (Like eating fish or generally less red meats, using a specific type of shampoo, avoiding products that have a certain ingredient)

Thank you!

Catholicism hypocrisy shows by how they have reacted to INC rallies here

I think last week or two weeks ago in my city there was some rally done by a religious group trying to ask the government for accountability. Well, regardless of the reasoning, it caused insane inconvenience and traffic in an already congested road (Volume of cars, we already have poor public transportation, the main road connects to many districts, etc.)

And I saw a comment from claimed Catholics than this religion is a cult (INC) which is crazy to me because almost all religions function like this?

Stating that INC (Iglesia ni Cristo) violates human rights is so strange to me because although there is some truth to it, being part of Christianity or Catholic or Protestant or *any* religion violates some kind of human right.

For example, they claim that INC is a cult of compliance. However, these are the same people that affiliate themselves with a religion that: has relations to conversion therapy, a book that has literally endorsed slavery, against abortion for whatever dumbass reason there is, etc.

Point is, other religions such as Christianity or Catholicism are just as big of a "cult of compliance". The only difference is Catholicism and Christianity aren't as strict as INC. Yet despite this, both have consequences if you don't follow their rules. You have to comply either way.

I remember my professor who did theological studies state that us, non-believers, are not "enlightened" or have not reached a level of consciousness to "see" God. I don't know, but ever since I stayed away from anything related to religion, I'm able to see just how hypocritical it can get.

Memory leaks after update on bug with stacked weekly challenges

Hello, I'd like to know if anyone is having the same issue? So this morning I noticed the following:

  1. Entering the game takes almost 5 minutes to complete

  2. I cannot join any custom lobbies or create. Either custom lobbies do not allow me to enter any game/create a lobby—what I mean by this is that it would just be an infinite loading loop and will usually end with "failed to import code"

  3. I get lag spikes and my fps drops constantly to the point that it disrupts my game and throws me off

  4. Profile checking, Last match, social tab doesn't really show teammates from previous matches.

tldr: everything seems slower than usual

I checked task manager and I noticed my overwatch is running with almost 9,000mb of memory being used, I'm not so into technical aspects but I don't know/am unsure if it is normal? My other games such as sims 4, stardew valley, have no issues running. I tried with csgo, everything seems okay as well.

For my specs I use ASUS TUF A16 with AMD Ryzen 7, NVIDIA RTX 4050. Unsure if I should update my drivers because I'm worried it'll worsen the issue.

Currently the solutions I tried was redownloading overwatch, battlenet, limiting my frame rate to 150, tried going to documents - overwatch - settings - delete all files, and also scanning and repairing

Some individuals were able to fix it and I'm not so lucky. In the BNET forums they said this was a memory leak, and at this point I'm unsure if I'm supposed to wait until there is a patch for this, or if I need to delete the data in documents - OW - settings to fix this

Also unsure if this is on the end of OW or my pc itself is the issue.

Thanks for the help

Always looking down instead of turning to the side when I use my mouse

Hallo! I have an issue whenever I try to turn fast. Instead of turning immediately to the side, for some reason instead of turning, I guess 180, I would end up looking straight down. It's been an issue especially when I get dived and/or if I have to retreat and make quick turns. I end up looking down instead of actually turning.

I use a wired mouse with 1000 dpi, and a 3.20 sensitivity in game. The brand is Rapoo.

Thanks!

When going against Sierra, how do you use positioning/cover to its full potential, especially when the Sierra is aggressive?

Hallo, I been playing a lot of unranked recently and I always go against a Sierra user. I main bastion and soldier, sometimes Emre but I have a hard time with the 3 round burst. Mostly soldier. I wanted to ask for advice about fundamental positioning against a Sierra user. I always use covers such as cars, walls, high ground, side of the map and near health packs.

I struggle with Sierras that prefire into where I peek to contest. I stay out of LOS but she charges in with her drone, darts me and shoots me before I could even react. I usually would just leave and find cover elsewhere, but in modes such as defense I end up moving back and allowing Sierra to take space. If she does this and I either die or back off, does that mean my use of cover is wrong? How then, do you know if the position you are in is good?

I'm asking because I want to improve on my fundamentals and I notice my biggest struggles are against Sierra. against a Widowmaker, hanzo, sojourn, I do fairly ok. I always melt to a Sierra when I play soldier though. I guess I'm also asking because in all honesty, its almost every match there's someone using sierra and I am tired of getting my ass handed on a plate 😔
