Copycat bands that are actually good

What are some examples of bands that are heavily influenced by other bands, but do a really good job at copying their style?

One that comes to mind is Altesia. They are clearly an early Haken copycat band, but they do so well at copying the style that I enjoy listening to them nearly as much as Haken.

Another example I can think of is I, Omega. They sound almost exactly the same as Kezia era Protest the Hero, and yet I still enjoy listening to them even though they are clearly a copycat band.

This mediocre AI team made the finals, despite not having a single 60+ overall player, or a player with at least a 20 PER

Would you make this trade?

This is the first time I’ve seen a potential franchise goalie in this game. I’ve heard franchise goalies in this game are almost like a cheat code, but I was wondering if it was worth giving up this much for one that is only yellow.

I was looking through Statistical Feats after playing thousands of seasons and noticed this...

James Shelley managed to get 30 turnovers and 7 personal fouls in a single game. I wonder what happened...

Prog metal bands without any long songs

I've been thinking about how Protest The Hero is one of my all time favourite prog metal bands, and in my opinion one of the all time greats of the genre, yet they do not have a single song over 10 minutes (Caravan being the longest at 8:39).

While there are many great bands in this genre where it seems at least half of their songs are at least 10 minutes (such as BTBAM), I find it nearly as impressive to be able to pack the complexity of prog metal into a short 4-5 minute song, such as what Protest The Hero has been doing for 20+ years.

Any other examples? I know for most genres 8:39 would be considered a long song, but for prog metal I feel like anything under 10 minutes is relatively short.

First time in thousands of seasons I've seen a team not manage to have a single player reach at least 10 points in a game

This was Game 7 of the Conference Finals between two AI teams. I don't think this has ever happened in the real NBA during any game.

Unexpect - Unsolved Ideas of a Distorted Guest

It's a shame that Unexpect stopped creating music after this album, because Fables of the Sleepless Empire is a masterpiece and one of my favoruite albums of all time. It's also a shame this album isn't on Spotify.

Protest The Hero - I Am Dmitri Karamazov and the World is My Father

I love everything Protest The Hero has ever released, but this might be one of my top 5 favourite songs of theirs. It blows my mind they were still in high school when they created this.

Is SikTH one of the most underrated prog metal band of all time?

I might be a bit biased as SikTh is one of my most listened to bands of all time, and one of the bands that helped get me into prog metal, but I feel like they do not get anywhere near enough attention.

Their first album "The Trees Are Dead & Dried Out Wait for Something Wild" is one of the most creative albums I've ever listened to, which is especially impressive considered it came out 23 years ago. It features some absolute prog metal bangers such as "Skies of the Millennium Night" and the title track "Wait For Something Wild", catchier tracks such as "Peep Show" and "If You Weren't So Perfect", and really unique tracks such as "Can't We All Dream" and a cover of "Tupelo" by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

Their second album Death of a Dead Day is considered one of the earliest djent albums, and has probably influenced several djent artists even to this day. Back in 2006 this album was unlike anything most people have ever heard, and still sounds as fresh and unique to this day. I've listened to this album hundreds of times over the year, and I still feel like every song is a banger, but "Part of The Friction", "When The Moment's Gone" and "Bland Street Bloom" stand out the most.

They have also released an EP in 2016 and an LP in 2017 which are worth checking out too, but at least in my opinion don't hit as hard as their first two albums.

After 20 years these guys still have it, as you can see in this performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDhF7bintXY
