Do you need character references for a CCW if you already have a premise license?

For eastern LI (sheriff not suffolk pd)

I know you need to take the course, but do you still need character references if you already have a valid pistol license and a semi auto endorsement?

I know it’s spring and that’s when they sprout up, but this is not a typical level of dandelions

I was just out driving around this morning and any area of untended grass is covered in a sea of yellow flowers way more than is typical and they’re everywhere

first off this is not a discussion about cost. I know policies are through the roof here and are like that nationwide due to rising costs throughout the country. This is strictly about coverage.

it’s time for me to renew my homeowners insurance so I had my broker put some feelers out there and see if I could get a better price from anyone else. What surprise me was not that I couldn’t get another price. I couldn’t get another policy. No other insurers would take me on period, and I know major carriers like State Farm are flat out not writing any new policies for the area either

so it got me thinking I know it’s already status quo to use claims very sparingly because it is likely they will cause you to get dropped which fine for the sake of this discussion it is what it is,

but what happens if there’s another hurricane or natural disaster? and it causes there to be tons of people making legitimate expensive claims? what happens?

Are they going to be forced to keep us or are people just going to be forced to go without insurance? It legitimately seems to me like we are sitting on a ticking time bomb collectively does anyone have better insight into the issue that could explain this
