Bruh I need help pleaseee

I bite my nails every waking hour almost. My thumb nails are halfway gone, all my nail beds hurt. I’m so insecure about my hands. I’ve tried the bitter tasting polish so many times but I end up not using it after a few days because the taste stays in my mouth 25/8. I’ve been biting my nails for 21 years at this point.

Short film Analysis paralysis

I have a microfilm I’m working on, my issue is actually starting it. It’s literally nothing special. Just a short film about a guy not being able to come up with a short film idea. I’ve went to shoot it twice now but I just get stuck on the establishing scene, trying to frame it, deciding where to put the camera so it ties into the second shot etc. I know the obvious answer is to just shoot things. But I feel like I’m having a seizure when I’m shooting bc I never know if I’m doing it right, exposing properly, white balance set tastefully etc. I think about cinematography damn near all day and all I ever do is consume cinematic content to try to learn more but I’m tired of it. I want to produce something. My plan now is to just copy another guys similar short film shot for shot. Edit it my own way. Maybe sprinkle in my own taste. But for now I think I need to use training wheels for my first short.

Welp I just attempted to film a micro film about a micro film. Here’s how it turned out

I tried to recreate the “essay procrastination scene” from sponebob, but with my short film twist. This is my first time doing something this complex. I planned out shots to get,the general ideas for the story, things like that but Once I started shooting I didn’t even know where to begin, what shot to get first, how to make them cohesive, where to put the camera etc. this is literally just a cliche micro film about someone not being able to think of an idea for a micro film. I’m losing my mind because I spend so many hours trying to learn cinematography.I want to actually create something but it was so stressful. I’m shooting on a manual focus 35mm f2 prime. I have a shotgun mic boomed that I have to deal with, I’m trying to light the scene with a 20w led and practicals. Doesn’t help I cant even expose the image properly because I don’t have much light. I just don’t know what to do with myself. My plan is to get a 100w cob soon. Thanks for reading my rant🫠

What to focus on/learn first?

I’m so overwhelmed with everything it takes to produce something that looks and sounds good. It seems like each day I go down a new rabbit hole of how to get the most optimal results. Currently I’m in the color grading rabbit hole trying to grade test clips. Super overwhelming learning to grade log in divinci. Am I wasting my time? Is there an optimal path to learning all of this? Or am I supposed to just jump in and don’t drown

I never know if my shots are properly exposed

I’m using slog 2, they say to expose 2 stops over. This is an Indoor Scene I was building up. I didn’t get to finish so this is as far as I got. I only have a 20w rgb light. Everything else I have to use is practicals. for this shot I set my camera wb to 2500kv to match the window light. I was going to be sitting at my desk reading a book I just couldn’t figure out how to light myself. I spend hours watching lighting tutorials but still am always confused

I have really bad GAS

Surely this is enough gear to make a decent looking and sounding short film. Lighting is HARDDDDD. my brain can’t comprehend it. I’ll prob get a 50ft trs cable so I can get mic off camera.

So I work 40-50 hours in the sun, doing landscaping. It’s exhausting. I have to make decisions for myself and 2 other people. By the time I get my daughter on the weekends I’m so shot out and exhausted that it’s effecting my ability to be a good dad. Like once the weekend hits I don’t want to do ANYTHING FOR ANYBODY. I just want to think my own thoughts, not move, not pick anything up, etc. obviously this is a problem. When she leaves I get so frustrated with myself for wasting our limited time together and not enjoying it fully. Just to go back to work the following week and do it all over again. Any advice? She’s 3 btw and I see her 3-4 days/week

Hello I have a 3 year old daughter and it recently occurred to me that I’m spending too much money on myself and not buying her anything. I feel kinda bad and want to get her something cool that she won’t outgrow for a while. Problem is I have no idea what to get. I don’t wanna get something that she won’t play with either. Any ideas would be great thanks. :)

I’m a novice to say the least. Currently I’m teaching myself cinematography, cameras, color grading, all the things. I work a boring ass blue collar job so my question is. How on earth do you get a job or earn a livale income ? It’s so fun and I wish I could spend more time doing it.

I work for a landscape company and they’re making me spray glyphosate daily for the next 2 weeks or so. Usually I don’t do this. Problem is this chemical is super toxic. They don’t give proper ppe and it regardless it ends up getting all over the backpack sprayer and all over your clothes. Also airborne particles go everywhere especially with wind. Should I just quit? Maybe tell them I refuse the job and will happily do something else? I have literally 1000$ in the bank. Idk what to do. This goes against my health. And OSHA as far as I know

I found this at goodwill. Manfrotto 290 light, and this befree live fluid head. What do I need to mount my camera to this? I have a small rig cage on my zve10

I have a short film idea. It involves indoor, night time video. I have literally no legit lights. I have a plant grow light, an aquarium led, a computer monitor, a bathroom light connected to my room. I plan on filming it with my iPhone. Is this even possible to get good lighting with? The films vibe is suspenseful, dark, involves a home intruder walking throughout the room up stairs etc.
