How have things changed in the last 2 years?

So I was a home theater installer until April 2024 when I got laid off. I recently put in an application for a seasonal part time helper role. My old boss excitedly texted me the next day. Apparently, I won’t be interviewing with her but with one of her shift leads. One of them has been out sick but she said I should be hearing from someone soon

So, shift leads. That’s a new thing. She also told me quite a few things that are new… I thought I was filling out an application for something familiar but it almost sounds like a completely different job.

On the one hand, it sounds like you get to do a lot more different kinds of things and learn more useful skills that could be transferable and open up more opportunity to find Work. I just hope they have really upped their game when it comes to training. In my experience, it was just kinda like “ okay, you do this now, go do it” and you’d just kinda be thrown in to it not knowing a thing about it. I hope they’re not gunna just throw me into a McDonald’s and tell me to get the ice cream machine working while people stare at me, a 6’2” trans woman with a silly logo on my tshirt and an even sillier badge on my belt and watch me fiddle with the thing having no idea what I’m doing

On the other hand, it also sounds like a potential for doing more work with higher expectations for less pay kinda situation… is this really something I want to get back into?

I feel like it was such a part of my identity for so long and now I feel like that thing no longer even exists :/ idk that kinda hurts. It’s retail, so I expect change, but maybe not to this extreme. I thought I was applying for something I was overqualified for, but now I wonder if I’m underqualified, with all that they expect

Question about shaky video in the original series

So I've been watching the original series, I'm on episode 12, and i noticed something; there is a very subtle shakiness to the whole image. Kinda like a hand held camera not on a tripod. I checked it wasn't just this episode. I checked on 3 different screens. I've been watching via mp4 files I downloaded from internet archive so I checked it out on Netflix too.

Just curious why its like this. something to do with how they recorded the animation? Or maybe because the show has been converted from 480i to 480p?

I switched from cigarettes to vape and I think it’s made me insane

I’m 39 and I’ve smoked a pack a day basically every day since high school. I think, because my life is mostly empty and meaningless, smoking cigarettes was like the only reason I had to exist. Now I don’t have that. I have the vape but it’s not the same. It means nothing to me. It just supplies me with nicotine. And because I’m just like constantly sucking on it I’m consuming probably way to much nicotine

I feel like I’m in a state of psychosis. I have thoughts and feelings. Are they positive or negative? I’m not surrrre. I just feel insane. I feel like my brain is not my own. I feel like I’m low key in crisis but not really. Maybe I should just go back to smoking cigarettes lol. But not really cuz I’ve tried that and now that the veil has been lifted they just make me feel gross. Like sleeping with an ex after a toxic breakup

Something about dopamine

Can you install games via FTPiiu?

I’ve downloaded the plug in and connected but not sure what I’m doing. Hoping there’s a way to save time and bypass the process of putting games on the sd card and using WUP Installer to add the games to the USB. I tried NUSsplii but the seemed like it would take forever

I can’t find much info about it. I’m curious cuz I don’t have a good pc and it struggled to run the game. Just curious what frame rate and resolutions it runs on the Wii U

I’ve been here a littler over a year and I’ve done pick and pack in pick2rebin and stow. Now they have me training for pick to tote and I hate it most of all. I don’t know what it is but time slows to a crawl and I just absolutely hate my life when I’m doing pick to tote. I did like 30 something hours of it and then for some reason they started putting me back in pick2rebin. But because I hadn’t done my 80 hours of pick to tote they couldn’t assign me to pack so I was only picking. Which is honestly fine with me because packing hurts my back.

I guess they figured out that I’m supposed to be training so now I’m back in pick to tote. Is there anyway to get out of it?
