Moving from California

I visited the northeast last year in oct. sleepy hollow, ny, into mass. Loved the area. The vibes were insane. The trees, October, people say mass people are dicks, but I felt like they were all nice to me

Anyway, idk what I’m doing in Cali anymore. I’m thinking of moving east cuz I want that aesthetic more. A place with all seasons and that feels more cozy. My favorite trail was Rockefeller preserve, so I want that sort of nature, but I also like the blue hills in mass

I have a background in finance, and would prefer remote position, but going into the office would be fine as long as it’s not Boston or manhattan. Doesn’t have to be wallstreet, doesn’t have to be a 6 figure job

Is there anywhere like that that’s fairly close to nature, small townish, but not too far off from everything if you need it? Ideally with some decent jobs in the area

Was also open to Philly, Vermont, or va. Really anywhere with the same vibe.

My cousins husband is from white plains and recommended Rochester, Syracuse, or buffalo. What do you guys think? Also, let me know if this is the wrong subreddit for this or if there’s a better one to post to

Barbell squats

How do you guys barbell squat? I’m 6’4 and can’t go parallel. If I go too far down, I either fall back or my thighs go below my knees. I have to spread my legs pretty wide and arch my back pretty low

Form check: barbell squats as tall person

I’m 6’4 and it feels hard for me to go fully parallel when I squat. Look if I go any further down, I’m just gonna plop backwards. Is the depth I’m going fine or do I need to shoot for more parallel?

Even without weights it’s hard for me to go down to parallel without contorting my body

Please excuse the quality

Need help being motivated

Feels like I’ve lost a lot of my spark. I just spend most of my free time looking for ways to kill time and not do anything meaningful.

Really I just want to get out of the house. But I’m alone and don’t have too many friends to spend time with. Wouldn’t even want to really since that’s not the issue.

Guess I just want to put myself in a place to form natural relationships, but every time I do anything, it never forms a habit and I get bored of it that when I think of doing something new, it just makes me revert to the memories of the things I didn’t enjoy doing. Like a self defeating habit.

Even movies and video games don’t do it for me anymore. I’m fit, but I love food and thinking of new foods to try or incorporate in my weekly meal plans.

I have a few hobbies that I love, but they’re all personal and I wouldn’t want to do them with others anyway. I’ll spend an entire day not talking to anybody

Guess I’m just looking for ways to help myself get out of this rut and get motivated or out of the house more

Protein bowl question

Hello. I make this protein powder bowl every morning. It’s my favorite thing ever I have it every morning. It looks something like this

Mashed banana

Greek yogurt/cottage cheese

Artificial sweetener

Cocoa powder (if using chocolate protein powder)

Vanilla extract

Protein powder (2 servings)

Oats

Chocolate chips

Berries

I mix it up, sometimes I use granola instead of chocolate chips, but something like that. I use casein powder and it definitely helps thicken, but I love the taste more of whey concentrate blend. But it definitely makes it more watery. It’s creamy but not too thick.

I was wondering if there was something I can add, besides casein, chia seeds, and more oats, that could help thicken it without altering the flavor much. Preferably low calorie

I know there are several different kinds, and I’ve given CBT and internal family as well as the eye movement one. I am very open about my trauma, almost like it doesn’t even phase me, and one of my biggest issues is that I try to be open minded with the professionals I talk to, but I often become closed off if I feel like the person is giving me very general advice or saying things that are very obvious to me and that I’ve already thought/considered
