Indian gross GDP only increased by 2 trillion from 2015 while US GDP grew by 12 trillion. So why should india be called the fastest growing major economy?

I know people will say it's all on % basis which considers s different baseline for both the countries but in order to get the fastest growing tag, at least the gap with the next largest economy should reduce. But here it's increasing!

Does it feel awkward when people migrate to the same country from which their ancestors fought to be free from?

If India was still part of the empire at least the hassle of getting a visa would've been less I guess? If they did enforce an internal passport system.

Most people migrate because of better "quality of life". Would quality of life have been slightly better if india was still part of the empire?

Its widely believed that for a country to become a major industrial or service based power, having a skilled workforce is essential. Is there any country which got every policy right except a skilled workforce?

An unconventional contest: Batman vs Wonder Woman (without the power asymmetry)

Comic: injustice year 5. Not sure about exact issue.

If we include the power asymmetry it's obvious who comes out on top but what if there is none?

Bats tried to jump on WW without solving this asymmetry and got humiliated a few times in comics. But injustice is the only instance where he fought her as an equal (because of the pills) and seemed to put up a decent fight before getting interrupted.

So I wonder what would've happened if there was no interruption?

WW is the only metahuman i know who has demonstrated skills while fighting and bats is one of the best fighters in comics.

That's why this contest intrigues me the most. We have already seen superman get his butt kicked by batman and Muhammad Ali without his powers but same won't be the case with WW.

WW already lost her powers in the absolute comic annual so it isn't an imaginary situation either.

Did johnny ever get a happy ending (settle down)? If not then does he deserve one?

Or do the fans prefer him to get humiliated forever?

Who should be credited with the liberalisation of the 90s. The politicians or the IMF that forced it down their throats?

It looks like this is not the first time india was in economic crisis.

It hit crisis a few times before and the soviet union bailed it out.

After the 90s there was no soviet union and hence india had to turn to the IMF.

IMF was not that generous. So it makes me wonder.

Which is the most used AI tool in the industry? Chatgpt claude copilot or something else?

Or are all three used together since there is some bifurcation depending on the task like copilot is used to work with MS OFFICE, claude with summarising documents, chatgpt for general use etc?

Did the JLU episode Once and future thing reset the minds of some people?

It looks like this thing bats & WW had for each other abruptly came to an end after the time reset.

From that episode onwards till the end there was no romance or flirting.

Why did Indias GDP ranking kept tumbling after independence?

Even after partition and centuries of British exploitation, india was still among the top 10 economies in the world in the 1950s.

But instead of improving this ranking I believe kept tumbling and it went completely outside the top 10 by around 90s.

It should've either maintained or even climbed in the ranking.

Was india really rich before the British rule?

So from whatever research I have personally done it looks like both india and China dominated global economy before the rise of European powers.

But what india & china had & even have in common today is their share of global population was also high.

We all know the way GDP is calculated, countries with high population have an advantage. This advantage was even more pronounced during the pre machine industrial era.

So was india rich because every indian was rich or was it because there were just too many people with low standard of living like it is today?

How big the Royal Navy would have been today if the UK had spent as heavily on it as it used to when the empire was at its peak?

If spending was adjusted for both inflation and the % share of total global military spending that time.

Did European colonialism gave capitalism a bad name throughout the global south?

People usually say that today's western countries should not be hated for their colonial past because colonialism is something every major nation states engaged in throughout history.

But from whatever history i have read it seems unlike other powers, the primary face of European colonialism were the for-profit private business entities named the east india company. It's not just the British. Even french Portugal and the Dutch had them.

Initially they all came in the name of just doing business and then the rest is history. In principle it was all free market capitalism.

After this experience almost every country in Asia & Africa adopted socialist welfare state driven and protectionist economic policy. As if they were thinking that opening up their economies would lead to a repeat of history.

The only Asian country which I think did not go this path is japan. Maybe because it did not get colonzied by a European power. Guess same applies to korea and taiwan as well.

What was going on in the minds of gurkha soldiers when they were ordered to open fire by general dyer?

As per history and the trials that took place it was obvious what was really going on in the minds of general dyer himself but is it ever mentioned in the history of what the soldiers were thinking?

Was it just a soldier following orders or was there anything more to it. Because I don't think any sane person would believe that opening fire on an unarmed defenceless crowd mixed with women and children is a rational thing to do.

They could've initially asked the crowd to surrender and get down on the ground.

Why sometimes it feels like just proving your worth during the recruitment process is not enough. You have to all over again prove yourself in office that you deserve to get work?

Is this something that only happens in consulting or in other job professions as well?
