I have a 17 year old cat and need recommendations for senior friendly cat trees

Hello I have a 17 year old cat who has arthritis, diabetes, and IBD. I'm looking for a new cat tree that is good for senior cats that struggle to jump. She likes cubby holes and she often uses her cat tree to climb up onto my school bed. Does anyone have a suggestion that is not too expensive?

Fat graphting needed does it work?

I will be getting fat grafting done on the 24th of this month on both sides of my chest. I have two big sunken in parts of my chest because the doctor who did my top surgery and messed up three times took too much fat and couldn't fix his mistakes (Don't go to Tobias Long in Reading PA). Has anyone else had deep sunken in parts of their chest fixed with fat grafting and does it work?

Would it be worth going to Taiwan for me?

Now I know China and Taiwan are two different places but I also know that Taiwan gets some things from both China and Japan. That being said I'm studying abroad in China but I hate it. I believe people here lack a lot of basic manners. For example the constant just throwing the trash on the ground, spitting, and so on. But the things that get me the most is stuff like they stare at me. Rubber necking stared because I'm disabled, I have been touched without permission, I'm tired of the constant trying to scam me because I'm a foreigner, I also hate the constant road rage even when you are just following the rules but they still get mad at you. I also hate the constant shoving. Like today I had to go out on an outing with my school and there was a traffic jam where we were at because no one can just walk nicely and the people behind me where literally showing me and forcing me into the people Infront of me even though I couldn't move. I wanted to scream at them but I didn't. So, my question is, is Taiwan like this or no? Would it be worth me going? I started to learn Mandarin because I wanted to go to Taiwan.

Thank god I'm going home

I have been in China for 2 months and the whole time I wanted to go home. I have no friends over here. I'm so lonely. I tried to make friends by inviting people to go to the parks with me and trying to get to know them but they just ignored me. Everyone in my program and class did. I asked a girl part of my program why no one wants to hang out with me and she said I just didn't join the clicks fast enough and everyone already made their circle when they got here ...Some people came together too. But there's this one girl In my class that goes out of her way to be rude to me and purposefully exclude me. Like yesterday she was handing out candy to everyone in my class but me. The teacher just let's her be rude to me. The teacher also gives me more attitude than she does the others and becomes snappy at me unlike she does with the others. I think she's part of my class click even though she's a teacher. We are all in our 20s and the teacher is 24. She's always inviting my classmates to her house, to go to her family town with her, and so on but never invites me. She invited them to Disney this week but didn't invite me. I don't know why no one likes me or want to be friends with me. I tried to be really friendly and outgoing my first couple of weeks but after that I just kept to myself since no one clearly wanted to be my friend. I'm also tired of being STARED at. Like rubber necking stared at by the Chinese people here because I'm disabled. It's embarrassing, frustrating, and humiliating. Yes I have trouble talking and need leg braces so I can walk properly but I'm not used to being stared at like that. No one ever did that to me at home. I also feel like I have learned nothing with this accelerated language program. It's way too fast for me. We go through 3-4 lessons a week and only focus on certain words once. I just wish I was going home now but I have one more week. I'm just disappointed because I always dreamed of the day going abroad and studying abroad and I didn't like it...I'm also jealous that the other kids in my program got to travel too far away places while I had to stay in my city because I'm here on scholarship and I don't have the money to do expensive things....I barely have the money to be here....shout out to my mom and brother though for supporting me even though we are poor.

Just disappointed with my first abroad experience...

Which language? French or Japanese?

Hey guys I'm wondering which language I should pick or if I should even pick up another language. I'm going onto my last semester of college and only have two required classes which are math and ASL. So for classes I will be taking Advanced ASL, math, and Chinese 3 (the Chinese is just because I have family who speak it). I might possibly take buddhism for fun but I'm not sure. It depends if I take up another language. But I was looking into taking a third language. I was thinking about either French or Japanese. I love the sound of Japanese and have always wanted to learn it since I was little but never got to. The class is currently full but I can be put on the waiting list. I could also take French though which is not full. I was thinking French because I wanted to learn a language that had the latin alphabet and I think French can sound interesting at times. Which one should I choose if I should even choose another one.

Social psychology of sex and gender PhD programs

I will be graduating this up coming semester and I have no clue what school I want to go to. I have looked around but have not found one that completely matches what I want. I was wondering if someone could give me a recommendation.

I really want to do psychology of sex and gender but I also want to do American Sign Language as well so I looked at Gallaudet University but they only have a ASL clinical psychology program not a social psychology. Does anyone know any programs either in Canada or the US that would meet these two wants. I would really like to be in Canada for school so it would be great if there was options there.

I'm also willing though to look at psychology of sex and gender in Taiwan so I can improve in my mandarin but also do the psychology. I was also looking at Buddhism psychology in Taiwan but that's my last option I would want to do.

Don't like it here or am I just lonely?

I can't tell if I don't like being here or if I'm just lonely. I went out today with a Chinese student for a second time with him and I had a good time today. But I usually feel like I don't like it here but I didn't mind being here when I was hanging out with him.

Regretting learning Chinese???

After being in China for a bit to learn more of my Mandarin I kinda regret learning Mandarin. I really wish I would have chosen Japanese because I really love the sound of it....But I have not liked my stay here in China and don't see myself coming back after I leave the school in a month. But I don't want to quit a language I worked so hard on because I have always wanted to be bilingual. It's been my dream to be. I mainly started learning Chinese because I always wanted to as a kid since my grandfather spoke it. And then I wanted to learn it due to wanting to visit Taiwan...But I fear Taiwan will be like China...What should I do?

Yelled at a Chinese family today during my zoo trip

I yelled at a whole ass Chinese family today. And I mean the mother, the father, the grandma, grandad and kids. I was at the zoo and looking at a monkey in it's enclosure. It seemed to want to be left alone and didn't want to interact and I saw this whole as family count down from there and start aggressively banging on its glass even though it says not to tap on the glass. I told a volunteer about what happened after I yelled at them and he didn't care. After I yelled at them though the grandma awkwardly smiled at me and they walked away. From there on when I saw them thought the zoo the grandma would just awkwardly smile at me.

I think there's an epidemic here of not treating animals kindly. Because I often see people teasing and scaring the animals here even when it's just a place where you can pet them like in the mall. I also have seen many inhumane enclosures especially in the malls (this zoo was actually nice when it came to the enclosures) and I'm on Chinese TikTok now and see some inhumane treatment of animals on there....

BL TV shows or Audiobooks

Where do Chinese people watch their BL? Because I was walking through the Joy City Mall in Shanghai and there were so many I have never seen or heard of.

People are rude

Do people from Dubai have a reputation of being assholes. My one classmate said they are just rich assholes. I'm currently in Shanghai to study but in the dorm I'm in right above me is a floor of just people from Dubai and everyone of them are assholes. They harrass me and my classmates and do dangerous things to us like riding really close while we are on a bike to harrass us almost like they will hit us.

This is really annoying and damaging to my mood because I'm already upset being here. I have no friends and most of my classmates ignore me no matter what I try to do. They don't all ignore me but they never want to hang out. Some just straight up ignore me when I try to talk to them and are rude. So far I have not had a positive time in Shanghai and I leave in four weeks

Need help understanding something

I needed help understanding something. When I was supposed to get hearing aids in the states they were too expensive so OVR has been working for a while to try and get them. I have been having trouble hearing peoples words correctly in class when they speak so I went to a ENT here in Shanghai since I thought hearing aids might be cheaper. They said insurance most likely wouldn't pay for them just because of the tinnitus right now but they said my hearing is slightly reduced for my age? What does that even mean slightly reduced? So, do I have a hearing loss? Because at first they told me I didn't then they said I actually do since it's slightly reduced for my age. I just was always told it was my tinnitus but this doctor says I have a slight hearing loss for my age and that's what's causing the ringing in my ears. So I don't understand why I wouldn't qualify for hearing aids masking therapy through my insurance here. My other insurance at home just doesn't cover hearing aids at all.

Need help figuring out my destination

Hey guys. I'm currently in Shanghai for school. I'm allowed to choose one big trip to go on and then that's it for overnight stays due to finances. But I'm having trouble picking between four and my family has been no help in deciding which one to go to. I really want to see a mountain village so I have a hotel near Wanxiangu scenic area. I know it's not a real village but I thought it was pretty. My 老师们 have all told me I should go to Anhui and stay there for two nights which I'm starting to think might be better. But I'm also open to other non mountain places. I would be willing to see Beijing because I want to see more old artitecture but I really don't feel like going to another city that might be like Shanghai. I really want to go to Chongqing too though because of how the levels are built there. Can you guys help me narrow it down or even tell me other places I might like. I also want to see smaller buddhist temples instead of the really big ones.

Need help with squeaky AFOs when I walk

Originally my feet were hurting bad because I didn't have a cushion on my heel. Now I put my solos of my shoes under my foot in the AFO and it's helping a lot. But it keeps making this sound. What should I do? I have thought about using a sock but I don't have the right sock I think I need. It's just annoying because the whole dorm can hear me and clearly my teachers can hear when I'm in the hallways or coming towards their offices.

Accelerates Chinese at East China Normal University through CIEE

I'm currently taking an accelerated Chinese program for the summer. We went through a whole textbook in four weeks and about to start our second one next week. I feel helpless because I feel like I have barely learned anything! Like I have learned some yes but not enough! I won't be able to hold a conversation when this is done unless it's VERY VERY basic...

Buddha statues

Hello, I'm trying to build my Buddha statue collection. I was wondering if this was actually worth the 280 yuan about $39. I got it in China.

Also does anyone know any small temples in Shanghai. I'm here for school. Back at home the temple I'm apart of is really small and we all sit around with each other and pray and talk about teachings as a small community. But here every temple I have been to and seem feels like a tourist trap. You have to pay for everything! Even entry and you do everything alone and barely any community. You see the monks but they don't interact with you. And they shops for prayer beads are so expensive even in the thousands when at home I got mine for free....

Buddhist temples

I'm currently in Shanghai for school. In my home country I go to a Buddhist temple to worship and we are a small temple so we can get very personal and all pray together with the three monks and ask questions and stuff. So far I have gone to one temple here in Shanghai and seen the others online. They all just feel like tourist attractions and it costs money to get in unlike the one at home where you can get in for free and they hand out string bracelets to you with a prayer. I can also get nice things at my home temple for really cheap. I just want somewhere that feels like that. Like more of a community and less a tourist area. Is there any place like that in Shanghai?
